I'M DOING OKAY

Just a short note to let readers know I'm doing okay.  I just need a few days to get myself back together.  Lorraine is still here and has been a big help.

MOST OF IT HAS GOTTA GO!!

PHEEBS AND I HEADING INTO BAYFIELD SATURDAY NIGHT FOR ICE CREAM
Saturday night after supper, Lorraine suggested I take Pheebs to the Woodland Drive-in for ice cream, so that's what I did.  Pheebs appetite of late has greatly dwindled, and it has been difficult coming up with things she will eat.  But that hasn't deterred Woodsy, and she has been busy cooking for Pheebs and coming up with inventive combinations of yummies to entice her to eat.

SHE WAS ABLE TO SIT UP ALL THE WAY THERE
SHE SURE LOVED HER ICE CREAM
HOME AGAIN
ALTHOUGH A BIT WOBBLY, DOWN THE RAMP SHE CAME

 MORE ICE CREAM
Sunday morning dawned big, bright, and sunny with temps already over 40°F by 8 a.m.  I didn't bother with a car ride, figuring Pheebs wouldn't be interested in going.  Instead, I got right at my clean-up project and centered my energy and efforts on our back porch and deck area.  Happy to say I made great gains, and with Lorraine's help, it's another area now clear, organized, and free of unnecessary clutter.  Burnt up more things in the fire pit as well.  Today made up for Saturday's lost and very depressing day.  A second nice day is predicted for Monday, so hopefully, with Woodsy's help, I can forge ahead and continue with the clean-up.  Efforts will probably be concentrated on cleaning out the metal shed where stuff has been accumulating for the past twenty-two and a half years.....and then some.  Most of it has gotta go!!

MY TRUSTY NAVIGATOR FOR THE PAST NEARLY 14 YEARS IS SADLY IN HER FINAL DAYS
Al's Music Box:))  Laughing is a popular song by Canadian rock band The Guess Who. It peaked at #1 on the Canadian Singles Chart for a single week and at #10 on the United States' Billboard Hot 100, becoming the band's second single to reach the Top 10 on the latter. It became their second of three gold records in the United States.  It appeared on their 1969 album, Canned Wheat, and was released as a single that year. It sold more than 350,000 copies in the first three weeks of release.  Dave Bist of The Montreal Gazette has written that 'These Eyes' and 'Laughing' gave its audience the impression that the group only made music for the money. 'Undun', the group's third "biggie", and 'No Time', he wrote, changed that impression.

HEADING HOME
Groaner's Corner:(( Three handsome male dogs are walking down the street when they see a beautiful, enticing female poodle.  The three male dogs fall all over themselves in an effort to be the one to reach her first, but end up arriving in front of her at the same time. They're speechless before her beauty, slobbering on themselves and hoping for just a glance from her in return.  Aware of her charms and her obvious effect on the three suitors, she decides to be kind and tells them, "The first one who can use the words 'liver' and 'cheese' together in an imaginative, intelligent sentence can go out with me."  The sturdy, muscular black Lab speaks up quickly and says "I love liver and cheese."  "Oh, how childish," said the Poodle. "That shows no imagination or intelligence whatsoever." She turned to the tall, shiny Golden Retriever and said, "How well can you do?"  "Um. I HATE liver and cheese," blurts the Golden Retriever.  "My, my," said the Poodle. "I guess it's hopeless. That's just as dumb as the Lab's sentence." She then turns to the last of the three dogs and says, "How about you, little guy?"  The last of the three, tiny in stature but big in finesse, is the Chihuahua. He gives her a smile, a sly wink, turns to the Golden Retriever and the Lab, and says: "Liver alone. Cheese mine."

Boy Scouts from the city were on a camping trip. The mosquitoes were so fierce that the boys had to hide under their blankets to avoid being bitten. Then one of them saw some lightning bugs and said to his friend,
"We might as well give up. They are coming after us with flashlights."

SO OFF I WENT BY MYSELF

NICE TO SEE SOME COLOR FINALLY APPEARING IN THE FORESTS
Cloudy and feeling cold at 39F with a wind chill factor of 28F.  Not nice, and I'm sure very disappointing for many working folks who were hoping for a nice sunny and warm late April weekend in Bayfield.  Pheebs wasn't interested in a car ride this morning so off I went by myself for an hour around one of our favorite routes along Bannockburn Road, Pavilion Road, the Bronson Line, and back through Bayfield home.

FARMERS ARE ONCE AGAIN BUSY WITH SPRING PLANTING
Lorraine (Woodsy) and I slipped up to Goderich this afternoon. First stop was McDonalds for two coffees to go, Food Basics, Walmart, where I had a prescription to drop off, the 360 Bikes 'n' Boards bicycle shop in downtown Goderich to drop off a bicycle rim to have a new tire put on, Giant Tiger, and both sides of the Goderich harbor, north and south.  We were home again close to 5 o'clock.

Al's Music Box:)) My Sweet Lord is a song by the English musician George Harrison, released in November 1970 on his triple album All Things Must Pass. It was also released as a single, Harrison's first as a solo artist, and topped charts worldwide; it was the biggest-selling single of 1971 in the UK. In America and Britain, the song was the first number-one single by an ex-Beatle. Harrison originally gave the song to his fellow Apple Records artist Billy Preston to record; this version, which Harrison co-produced, appeared on Preston's Encouraging Words album in September 1970.  Harrison wrote "My Sweet Lord" in praise of the Hindu god Krishma, while intending the lyrics as a call to abandon religious sectarianism through his blending of the Hebrew word hallelujah with chants of "Hare Krishna and Vedic prayer. The recording features producer Phil spector's wall of Sound treatment and heralded the arrival of Harrison's slide guitar technique, which one biographer described as "musically as distinctive a signature as the mark of Zorro".  Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Gary Brooker, Bobby Whitlock and members of the group Badfinger are among the other musicians on the recording.

A MALE CARDINAL IN OUR FRONT YARD ORNAMENTAL CHERRY TREE
Groaner's Corner:((A young man called his mother and announced excitedly that he had just met the woman of his dreams. Now what should he do?  His mother had an idea: "Why don't you send her flowers, and on the card invite her to your apartment for a home-cooked meal?"  He thought this was a great strategy, and a week later, the woman came to dinner. His mother called the next day to see how things had gone.  "I was totally humiliated," he moaned. "She insisted on washing the dishes."  "What's wrong with that?" asked his mother.  "We hadn't started eating yet."

I have this friend who always seemed to lean slightly to the left all the time.  It used to bother me, so I suggested he see a doctor, and have his legs checked out. For years, he refused … told me I was crazy.
But last week, he finally went, and sure enough, the doctor discovered his left leg was 1/4 inch shorter than his right.  A quick bit of orthopedic surgery later, he was cured, and both legs are exactly the same length now, and he no longer leans.  “So,” I said, “You didn't believe me when I told you a doctor could fix your leg.”  He just looked at me and said, … “I stand corrected.”
