I WILL LEAVE YOU WITH A FEW PICS

Casting my eyes through our living room window this morning upon a vibrant and luscious-looking world of green foliage, I could not see even the slightest murmur of a breeze rustling the daintiest of leaves.  Oh-Oh, I thought, it's going to be another hot one.  But, I was wrong.  Our cool spell had thankfully slipped in overnight.  Pheebs and I drove Kelly to her Exeter dental appointment earlier today and then headed to the Macnaughton - Morrison Nature Trail just a few blocks away.  Weather-wise, it was a perfect morning so I will leave you with a few pics of our walk.......................

  Always On My Mind
is the 27th studio album by country singer Willie Nelson. During the recording sessions for Nelson's collaboration album with Merle Haggard, 'Pancho & Lefty', the producer Chips Moman and Bobby Emmons suggested that they record Johnny Christopher's "Always on My Mind".  Haggard had no interest in recording a version of the song for the album, so instead Nelson recorded his own version—the first for the album entitled Always on My Mind. In his autobiography, Nelson stated: "We'll never know what would have happened if Merle had really heard the song right. 'Always on My Mind' bowled me over the moment I first heard it, which is one way I pick songs to record".
GROANER'S CORNER:((
A young girl who was writing a paper for school came to her father and asked, “Dad, what is the difference between anger and exasperation?”  The father replied, “It is mostly a matter of degree. Let me show you what I mean.”  With that, the father went to the telephone and dialed a number at random. To the man who answered the phone, he said, “Hello, is Melvin there?”  The man answered, “There is no one living here named Melvin. Why don't you learn to look up numbers before you dial”.  “See,” said the father to his daughter. “That man was not a bit happy with our call. He was probably very busy with something and we annoyed him. Now watch….”  The father dialed the number again. “Hello, is Melvin there?” asked the father.  “Now look here!” came the heated reply. “You just called this number and I told you that there is no Melvin here! You've got lot of guts calling again!” The receiver slammed down hard.  The father turned to his daughter and said, “You see, that was anger. Now I'll show you what exasperation means.”  He dialed the same number, and when a violent voice roared, “Hello!”  The father calmly said, “Hello, this is Melvin. Have there been any calls for me?”

My boss made me go into the office on Labor Day. Halfway through the day, he came in to check up on me and caught me having a beer.  He said to me, "You can't drink while you're working."  I said, "Oh, don't worry - I'm not working."
