THAT WOODSY IS QUITE A LITTLE 'FIRECRACKER'

Lorraine surprised me again by coming back a day early.  I thought she was coming Sunday.  I'm glad she came today, because she wasn't long in 'cracking the whip' and had me out of my recliner and on my feet.  I needed that because I had been sleeping the day away when she tapped on the door with coffee and donuts in hand.  Coffee and donuts will get me on my feet even during the worst of times.  That Woodsy is quite a little 'Firecracker'.

Al's Music Box:)) The Last Leaf sung by the Cascades, was an American vocal group best known for the single "Rhythm of the Rain", recorded in 1962, an international hit.  In 1960, the Silver Strands were a group of united States Navy personnel serving on the USS Jason based in, San Diego, California. They recruited John Gummoe, who originally acted as manager, then left the Navy to become The Thundernotes. The group's membership consisted of John Claude "John" Gummoe (born August 2, 1938) (lead vocals), Lenny Green (vocal and lead guitar), Dave Wilson (drums and vocal), Dave Stevens (bass), and Art Eastlick (rhythm guitar).

Groaner's Corner:(( A frog walks into a bank. He goes to the only open teller and sees that her name is Paddy Whack. "Hey, listen" says the frog. "I really need a loan! I'm out of work, and my wife and tadpoles are at home, starving! I need money so I can feed them and provide for them!" Now Paddy feels very sorry for the poor frog and asks him if he has any collateral. He holds up a small glass elephant. Paddy is a little surprised by this, and quite unsure, but she feels so sorry for the poor frog that she takes the elephant to her manager. "Mr. Manager, sir," Paddy begins, "there is a frog out there who desperately needs a loan. He's out of work, and he has a wife and tadpoles who are at home, starving. He needs some money so he can provide for them! But all he has for collateral is this little glass elephant. What should I do?"  Well, Mr. Manager takes a good, hard look at that elephant, thinks about it a little, and then replies, "It's a knick-knack, Paddy Whack, give the frog a loan!"

It seems that Mary Poppins has moved to California. She has started a business telling people's fortunes. But, she doesn't read palms or tea leaves, she smells one's breath. So, the sign outside her new business reads: Super California Mystic Expert Halitosis.

The owner of the tuxedo store kept hovering over me when I was browsing, so I asked him to leave me alone.  He said, “Fine, suit yourself.”

Military leaders succeed in building a computer able to solve any strategic or tactical problem.  They are assembled in front of the new machine and instructed to feed a difficult tactical problem into it.  They describe a hypothetical situation to the computer and then ask the pivotal question: attack or retreat?  The computer hums away for an hour and then comes up with the answer: YES.  The generals look at each other, somewhat stupefied. Finally, one of them submits a second request to the computer: YES WHAT?  Instantly the computer responded: YES SIR.

  5. Love the picture of the zinnias in the zinna pitcher! Al, did you ever own a cat? I've noticed in your picture gallery that you show lots of cats. Some mornings when I get to the gallery and the first black cat pops up, I look over to my patio door and there sits our feral black cat waiting for some breakfast, when she wasn't there before. It's kinda strange.
    Donuts :o)

    1. I've told Al how much I love cats & often forward one of his beautiful art/photos of cats to my daughter (who also loves cats). So I sometimes like to imagine Al sneaks a cat in his blog just for me.?? Lol. Of course, lots of people love cats - so no matter Why he does it - I'm just so Happy that he does.
