MAYBE A QUICK NOTE TUESDAY OR WEDNESDAY

OLD SOL DIPS INTO A CLOUD BANK OVER LAKE HURON
After publishing Saturday night's post, Lorraine and I headed for the Woodland Drive-In for a couple small 'Twist Cones'.  From there, it was down to the beach area for the sunset and then home.  I was beat.
WOODSY DIDN'T WANT ME TO PUT THIS PHOTO IN BUT I WANTED TO SHOW THE ICE CREAM CONE

It was an effort to get myself out the door this morning and take the Subaru for a drive around a few country roads.  It's just not the same without Pheebs and my interest is fading.  I managed to take a few half hearted photos and came home.  Woodsy and I did make it to Goderich for a couple of stops at Food Basics and Walmart.  I was glad to get home, and as the day progressed, I just continued to feel sicker.  In the morning, Lorraine will drive me to the Stratford Hospital, where I will undergo a kidney stone procedure at 1:30 pm, which will last approximately one hour.  If everything goes well, I hope to be home by 5 o'clock.  I am really hoping this kidney stone procedure is going to make me feel better.  But with pains in the front side of my abdomen now, I'm wondering if there is something else going on somewhere.  I probably won't write a post tomorrow night, but maybe a quick note Tuesday or Wednesday sometime.

Al's Music Box:)) All American Boy by Bill Parsons is a 1958 talking blues song written by Orville Lunsford with songwriting credits to Bill Parsons and Orville Lunsford.  The song reached number 2 on the Billboard chart, kept from the number one spot by "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" by the Platters.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( Two guys were doing construction on a house. One of them, who was nailing down siding would reach into his nail pouch, pull out a nail, and then either toss it over his shoulder or nail it into the siding.  The other guy, figuring this was worth looking into, asked, "Why are you throwing those nails away?"  The first guy explained, "If I pull a nail out of my pouch and it's pointed towards me, I throw it away 'cause it's defective. If it's pointed toward the house, then I nail it into the siding."  The second guy was outraged. He yelled, "You moron! The nails pointed towards you aren't defective! They're for the other side of the house!"

An urgent call was put in for a plumber at noon but he didn’t arrive until 5 hours later. “How is it?” he asked, entering the house. “Not so bad,” replied the homeowner. “While we were waiting for you to arrive I taught my wife how to swim.”

It was the first day of school, and the teacher was asking the little boy about his family.  "And what does your Daddy do?"  "He's a magician."  "That must be exciting, what tricks can he do?"  "He can saw people in half."  "That is clever, and tell me, do you have any brothers or sisters?"  "Yes, one half brother, and two half sisters."

  1. Pheebs was your best friend, just like Kelly was. No one can ever replace Kelly, although Lorraine has become someone that helps to make your life better and more complete. If you were to get another dog, it would never replace Pheebs, but would be another best friend dog for you. Maybe you could go to an animal shelter and adopt another canine friend - and it would give another dog a chance at love and a good life. I have done a similar thing several times over my life, and cannot imagine life without a dog or cat ( I have mostly been a cat person, but love all animals.)

  7. Al, my good thoughts and prayers will be with you tomorrow and a successful outcome. I know you are missing Miss Pheebs on your drives, here's a suggestion: enlarge and print one of her photos leaning out the passenger window, then tape it to the passenger window. Then when driving and you look over you will see her with you. Take care.

  9. Hi Al, Be sure and follow up with your primary doctor if you still feel pain in your abdomen after your surgery. Let him/her know that you had the pain before the surgery because you may have something besides your kidney stones causing pain. I hope your surgery goes well for you and they can get those kidney stones out.

  10. Best of luck with your procedure. I seldom write but I am a very long time reader. I start my day with your blog before I go on to reading my newspapers. Be well and hope you’re ship shape soon!

  12. Those furry friends leave a big hole in their absence. Especially doing routines we used to share. The mixed blessing of that unconditional love. That bay horse is such a beauty. Always fun to see pics of the original Bunch with Kelly. Best wishes for a quick and full recovery!!
