One year ago today, Kelly posted this to her Facebook page. It was her last post............
As many of you know, I have fought liver disease for 10 years. After just being discharged again from the hospital after a very tough episode, I have decided to lay down my sword. Even warriors get tired. I'll be cared for by palliative care. "The worse the passage the more welcome the port"
Mercy, me! I thought you were saying YOU had liver disease. My heart is still galloping. You be well now! You hear?
ReplyDeleteI was totally shocked to see that post that day. To me, it exemplified what Kelly was: a tremendously brave woman who WOULD go out as the one in charge. She was no wimp; that strong will earned respect and admiration. We are poorer with her departure, but WOW, what an example she set! She was a wonderful human being. And, Al, for sure you carry her with you every single day.
ReplyDeleteShe was a fine lady and is missed greatly!!! Please take care of yourself.

Breaks my heart all over again.

So sad that after such long battle she still lost the fight 😰; RIP Kelly, you were one of a kind !
DeleteBrings back memories of her long struggle. I was difficult for both of you and you both handled it as best you could. She was a warrior.
ReplyDeleteKelly fought a long hard battle for many years. May she continue to rest in peace. Take care, Al.
ReplyDeleteLove & hugs to you, Al.
ReplyDeleteI remember this post which is as powerful as she was.
ReplyDeleteIt was a sad day then as the reminder now. Kelly was always helping troubleshoot someone's electronic problems. She was a Treasure.
ReplyDeleteI think of Kelly often, she was a Brave Lady and left with Dignity.
ReplyDeleteShe fought the good fight. RIP Kelly.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Contessa
