BETWEEN GODERICH'S HARBOR AND ROTARY COVE
ON THIS COLD, GREY MORNING, I WAS KEEPING AN EYE OUT FOR SOME COLOR
FOUND SOME COLOR ALONG BAYFIELD'S MAIN STREET LATE THIS AFTERNOON
Under sunny skies, Lorraine (Woodsy) rolled in from Stratford at 4:40 this afternoon. And, she brought butter tarts:)) Always nice to see her, but not just for her butter tarts. Of course, I will have to be on my best behaviour now and mind all my peas and ques. Not always easy for an old, stubborn curmudgeon like myself. Knowing we were very close to sunset time when she got here, we headed right back out the door, hopped into Lorraine's warm little VW Tiguan, and headed into Bayfield. Swung through Tim Hortons for a couple of coffees to go and then slipped down Bayfield's Main Street on our way to the beach. The Sun had already slipped below the horizon, but it left a beautiful sky behind.

Dentist says "$100.00."
Man says, "too much. Can't you do it for less?"
Dentist says "I can do it for $50 if I cut out the novacaine."
Man says, "That's better, but still too much. Can't we do it any cheaper?"
Dentist says, "I could let my trainee do it for $20, but she has never pulled a tooth before, and it would be quite painful."
Man says, "That's great. Schedule my wife for next Tuesday."

A woman goes into a butcher's...
"I'd like an oxtail please". "Certainly", replies the butcher, "Once upon a time there was an Ox..."

To the thief who stole my pillow, know this. I will not rest until I find you.

During a fire at a convent, a group of nuns are trapped on the third floor. Thinking quickly, they took off their habits, tied them together, and used them as a rope to climb down from the window. After safely reaching the ground, a reporter asks, “Weren’t you worried that the habits would have ripped as you were climbing down? They look old and worn.”“Of course not!” said one of the nuns. “Don’t you know how hard it is to break an old habit?”

I'm with you on the techie stuff, Al. A pain in the patoot. My daughter has an IPhone and sends me a photo by text now and then. I can see the photo and then I press Save on my phone. Yet after I've transferred pics from my phone to my laptop, and they go into my Pictures Galleery, when I want to go back and look at what I just saved to laptop, the pics come up as HEIC and I couldn't open them.
ReplyDeleteSo I did a bit of sleuthing and found out my daughter can set her IPhone camera to JPG pictures, not HEIC. That fixed my problem. Hope you can find a solution to your issue soon. Nice sunset! Glad you didn't get more snow.
I have been using iPhones and iMacs and their laptops since 2010. You don't need a cord to transfer your photos to your computer. On your phone go to Photos. Click one to start and to the bottom left is a square with an up arrow, click that. Then scroll through your photos to the right or left and click that circle in each photos so there is a blue checkmark. When you have all the photos you want transferred, click the icon that says AirDrop. It's below the photos. It will find your laptop as "My Devices" IF the phone is near or next to your laptop. Click on that device icon. It will send your photos to your "Download" folder on your laptop. From there you can move them to your computer Photos library.
ReplyDeleteTo the person above ... that HEIC file Apple likes is to make the JPG file smaller. In my download file sometimes I change that .heic to .jpg before moving them to my computer photo library.
ReplyDeleteI have a Microsoft computer. I set my iPhone photos to JPEG. That way when I transferred the photo I can see it in my programs HEIC format on the iPhone is not seeable in some Microsoft programs. JPEG is the best format go to YouTube and ask how to change taking your photos on the iPhone in JPEG format. That way they will be ready for transfer.
DeleteFor many of us ' old-timers ' todays technology is a big, huge, mucho grande puzzle; there is no way in heaven I can deal with all or, any of my gadgets on my own. Being fortunate though...my sister married a compu. engineer !! 🍀 🍀 💃
ReplyDelete(Kawartha Gal)
ReplyDeleteAnd if all the good advice above confuses you, try my lazy method, I just email my few pics to myself and open the mail on my laptop 😃
Luckily I live with an IT husband and a geek son, so when I really need help, it is close by. Keep trying, you will master it
Al ... to change your iPhone photos settings from HEIC to JPG ... Settings -- Camera -- Formats -- Most Compatible. That will make all the photos you take with your iPhone in jpg format
ReplyDeleteAnother easy way, Al. Use google photos set to auto backup.then when you go to google photos on your laptop or desktop they will all be there. Then a simple download to your desktop and voila. Much easier and faster than email and no size limits. It's how I ha e done it for years. Sue Malone
ReplyDeleteNot a hi-tech person, so I do what Kawartha Gal does with regards to emailing photos from my iphone to my lap top. Loved your theme of trucks in tonight's gallery. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI email the photo from my iPhone and open the email on my computer and save it to photos on the computer cables and that tech stuff to confusing us email
ReplyDeleteMy wife said that she saw a deer on the way to work. I wonder how she knew it had a job?
ReplyDeleteAl, if it's any consolation I too struggle to get photos from my iPhone to my laptop! I email them to myself from the iPhone then open that email on my laptop and download the photos to a folder then to Lightroom--my photo editing software. What a convoluted process it is!
ReplyDeleteI tried Steve's above suggestion and it won't work for those of us using a Windows based computer which I think you do.
ReplyDeleteNever owed any Apple products. I email cell phone pics to myself and open on Windows computer. Right click on pic and save to file! Done :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Al, the world and Tech has run me over and I didn't even get the plate number. I also am not going to waste time attempting to figure this new stuff out. Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteLikewise for me. I get so frustrated at the number of passwords they want you to remember, and just give up!
