I TOOK MY E-BIKE FOR A RIDE THROUGH THE FOREST

I HAVEN'T SEEN ANY FROGS IN MY FRONT YARD FROG POND FOR OVER A WEEK
With a beautiful Tuesday evening going on, I didn't feel much like sitting in the house, so it was off out to my walking road I went about 8:30.  To the west, old Sol was wrapping up another day with a reddening sunset.  Not wanting to go home after my walk, I drove to nearby Clinton and scooped myself a coffee and a donut to go at Tim Hortons.   With the moonroof open and front windows down, I took a slow drive northwest of Clinton through sleepy twilight forests and farm fields.  My happy place and favorite time of day.  I always marvel at the beauty of nature, regardless of what hour it is. Farmers were busy in the fields with lights on their tractors bright enough to rival the illumination of stadium lights.  Daylight soon gave way to night as I slowly ambled along, not only listening to my music, but catching the sounds of many Spring frogs as I passed by them in their forest and swampy area habitats.  And all the while from above, a hazy Moon did its best to alight its moonbeams upon my shoulder through that big retangle opening in Subie's roof.  It was a warm evening, and the calming darkness surrounding me made for yet another fine ending to this old fellow's shortening days here on Planet Earth.

Another fine Spring morning for a walk, so I took full advantage of that.  Didn't see any little yellow Fairy Butterflies though.  I'm sure the winter wheat field running along the west side of my walking road will soon be harvested.  Home again, I didn't waste any time firing up my power washer, and continued cleaning patio stones both in the backyard, as well as the front yard, where I have a few patio blocks around the outside water outlet.  Disappointed that a couple of Rhodendron plants have died, and due to the Redbud tree's poor showing this year and last, I'm thinking it may be in the twilight of its years as well.  I'm going to have to get a new blade for my Swede saw because I may have a lot of cutting to do soon, starting with a number of dead branches on the Red Bud tree.

LATE AFTERNOON IN THE FRONT YARD
Our cool, cloudy morning turned into a warmer, sunny afternoon, and I fired up my E-Bike for a ride down around the south end of the Park where there is a hardwood bush.  In that forest is a rough road cut through the bush many years ago.  Kelly and I, with Max, Checkers, and little Cora (Motormouse) would often walk that loop road on our daily morning walks.  This afternoon, I took my E-Bike for a ride through the forest along that partially grown-over road.  So nice to be out under tall towering trees at this time of year with all the Spring songbirds overhead singing and flitting about.  And here's the best part....no bugs and biting insects!!  All and all it was a nice afternoon ride, and I never even fell off my bike once:))

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A Sunday school teacher was giving her class the assignment for the next week. “Next Sunday,” she said, “we are going to talk about liars, and in preparation for our lesson I want you all to read the Seventeenth Chapter of Mark.” The following week, at the beginning of the class meeting, the teacher said, “Now then, all of you who have prepared for the lesson by reading the Seventeenth Chapter of Mark, please step to the front of the room.” About half the class rose and came forward. “The rest of you may leave,” said the teacher. “These students are the ones I want to talk to. There is no Seventeenth Chapter in the Book of Mark.”

Three vampires walk into a bar. The bartender looks at them suspiciously, but he decides to serve them anyway. "What'll it be, boys?" The first vampire says, "Blood. Give me blood." The second vampire says, "I, too, wish for blood!" The third vampire says, "Give me plasma."The bartender smiles and says, "Got it. Two bloods and a  blood-light."

  1. I also have been thinking about the fact that I have only a few years left on planet earth - it seems like just the other day I had graduated from high school, and had a lifetime ahead of me, but soon I will be 80 years old...... where did those years go???
