| BUTTERFLIES ACCOMPANYIED ON MY WALK AGAIN THIS MORNING |
Friday's all-day cloud cover never did break up and dissipate, so there was no point in heading out to my starry night spot. Spent the evening on my YouTube channel. I don't know how the long Labor Day Weekend came up so fast, but it did. It seems only a few weeks ago that school kids were starting their summer holidays. I can only hope that the coming winter goes that fast.
| SPOTTED ANOTHER TOUCH OF EARLY AUTUMN TODAY |
Sunshine blazed through the window this morning, and with temps at 72°F and humidity substantially lower, I figured it would be a good morning (after my walk) to get some things done outside. I started with an overgrown Hydrangea plant in the backyard, and it didn't take long to fill my utility trailer with hydrangea branches and other yard waste. Fingers crossed for clear skies tonight. I definitely need some ethereal quiet time.

Al Blast From Our Past:: Facebook tossed me another memory today, and as so often happens with those memories, I had completely forgotten about it. But it has to do with my post's title today, and you can read about it here in a post I wrote seventeen years ago on September 4th, 2009. The post is entitled, Today I Had To Eat Some Crow And Email An Apology

GROANER'S CORNER:(( Two brothers, Zeke and Clem, inherit the family ranch. Unfortunately, after just a few years, they are in financial trouble. In order to keep the bank from repossessing the ranch, they need to purchase a bull from the stockyard in a far away town so that they can breed their own stock. They only have $600 left. Upon leaving, Zeke tells his brother, 'When I get there, if I decide to buy the bull, I'll contact you to drive out after me and haul it home.' Zeke arrives at the stockyard, inspects the bull, and decides he wants to buy it. The man tells him that he will sell it for $599, no less. After paying him, he drives to the nearest town to send his brother a telegram to tell him the news. He walks into the telegraph office and says, 'I want to send a telegram to my brother telling him that I've bought a bull for our ranch. I need him to hitch the trailer to our pickup truck and drive out here so we can haul it home.' The telegraph operator explains that he'll be glad to help him, then adds, 'It's just 99 cents a word.' Well, after paying for the bull, Zeke only has $1 left. He realizes that he'll only be able to send his brother one word. After a few minutes of thinking, he nods and says, 'I want you to send him the word 'comfortable.' The operator shakes his head. 'How is he ever going to know that you want him to hitch the trailer to your pickup truck and drive out here to haul that bull back to your ranch if you send him just the word 'comfortable?' Zeke explains, 'My brother's not to bright. The word's big so he'll read it very slowly ... com-for-da-bull.'

At the doctor's office, Tom was getting a checkup. "I have good news and bad news," says the doctor. "The good news is you have 24 hours left to live." Tom replies, "That's the good news?!" Then the doctor says, "The bad news is I should have told you that yesterday."

Life Before Computers::
An application was for employment
A program was a TV show
A cursor used profanity
A keyboard was a piano!

Memory was something that you lost with age
A CD was a bank account
And if you had a 3 1/2 inch floppy disc drive
You hoped someday, information would arrive.
Compress was something you did to garbage
Not something you did to a file
And if you unzipped anything in public
You'd be in jail for a while!
Log on was adding wood to a fire
Hard drive was a long trip on the road
A mouse pad was where a mouse lived
And a backup happened to your commode!
Cut - you did with a pocket knife
Paste you did with glue
A web was a spider's home
And a virus was the flu!
I guess I'll stick to my pad and paper
And the memory in my head
I hear nobody's been killed in a computer crash
But when it happens they wish they were dead!
