SOMETIMES I JUST RUN OUT OF ENERGY

RED MAPLES LINE THIS RURAL DRIVEWAY
With my driver's window down and Subie's heater on, it made for a nice slow drive through the late October countryside.  Farmers were again busy with the annual corn harvest and the backroads were abuzz with tractors, combines, and grain wagons.  I kept a sharp eye out for any corn spills but came home with an empty bucket.  Maybe tomorrow I'll strike a golden bonanza.

AREA ROADS WERE VERY BUSY THIS MORNING
 THIS COMBINES HOPPER IS FULL
AND HERE IT IS EMPTYING ITS LOAD OF CORN INTO A SELF-UNLOADING GRAIN WAGON
THIS IS ANOTHER WAY OF AUGERING CORN FROM ONE UNIT TO ANOTHER
'OH-OH' LOOKS LIKE SOME KIND OF WHEEL OR TIRE PROBLEM ON THIS GRAIN WAGON
ANOTHER COMBINE TRANSFERS ITS LOAD OF CORN

WOW, LOOKS LIKE THIS FARMER JUST GOT HIMSELF SOME NEW HEAVILY TREADED TRACTOR TIRES
With the clouds clearing away by late morning, I was again outside with my leaf rake, fork, and wheelbarrow, keeping ahead of the falling Autumn leaves.  I think about 75% of the leaves are still on the trees.

THAT'S ONE MIGHTY NICE LOOKING FARMHOUSE AND PROPERTY
THIS FARM IS HOME TO A LARGE HERD OF LONGHORN CATTLE, AND I WAS HOPING THEY WOULD BE IN A FIELD BESIDE THE ROAD, BUT  THEY WERE ABOUT HALF A MILE AWAY FOR THIS LONG TELEPHOTO SHOT
A NICE DRIVEWAY LEADING INTO THE FARM
 SAME FARM, NICE TREES
AND ANOTHER NEW FARMHOUSE GOING UP NOT TOO FAR FROM OUR PARK

THIS FELLA WAS OUT DOING A LITTLE SCUFFLEATING OR SOMETHING
COUNTY ROAD CREWS WERE OUT THIS MORNING TAKING DOWN OLD DEAD TREES ALONG THE ROADSIDE, TWO OF WHICH WERE ON MY WALKING ROAD
Lorraine and I did get ourselves a nice mid-afternoon Autumn walk in, but I took so many photos that I will post about that walk maybe tomorrow.  Sometimes I just run out of energy.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( One day at a busy airport, the passengers on a commercial airliner are seated waiting for the pilot to show up so they can get under way. The pilot and copilot finally appear in the rear of the plane and begin walking up to the cockpit through the center aisle. Both appear to be blind; the pilot is using a white cane, bumping into passengers right and left as he stumbles down the aisle. The copilot is using a guide dog. Both have their eyes covered with sunglasses. At first, the passengers do not react, thinking that it must be some sort of practical joke. After a few minutes, though, the engines start revving, and the airplane begins moving down the runway. The passengers look at each other with some uneasiness. They start whispering among themselves and look desperately to the stewardesses for reassurance. Yet, the plane starts accelerating rapidly, and people begin panicking. Some passengers are praying, and as the plane gets closer and closer to the end of the runway, the voices are becoming more and more hysterical. When the plane has less than twenty feet of runway left, there is a sudden change in the pitch of the shouts as everyone screams at once. At the very last moment, the plane lifts off and is airborne. Up in the cockpit, the copilot breathes a sigh of relief and tells the pilot: "You know, one of these days the passengers aren't going to scream, and we aren't going to know when to take off!"

'Johnny, where's your homework?' Miss Martin said sternly to the little boy, while holding out her hand. 'My dog ate it,' was his solemn response. 'Johnny, I have been a teacher for eighteen years. Do you really expect me to believe that?' 'It's true, Miss Martin, I swear,' insisted Johnny. 'I had to force him, but he ate it!!
