Saw my first orange Day Lily of the year, blooming in the backyard beside the shed. Another indicator of how fast the season is already moving on. But that's okay, I always look forward to those splashes of orange in the flower beds and along many roadside ditches at this time each year. A slightly overcast day and that was okay too. No horrid heat and humidity, and no ice and snow either. Sometimes, things just kinda do alright. A pleasant country road walk as usual earlier today. Home again, I decided it was a good morning for cleaning the car, so out came the floor mats and in went the vacuum cleaner.

An old-time pastor was riding furiously down the road, hurrying to get to church on time. Suddenly, his horse stumbled and threw him to the ground. Lying in the dirt, his body wracked with pain, the pastor called out, “All you angels in heaven, help me get up on my horse!”With extraordinary strength, he leaped onto the horse’s back—and fell off the other side. From the ground again, he called out, “All right, just half of you angels this time!”

Marilyn Struthers I love squirrels but I wish they weren't so bad digging up things in my garden or planting things that shouldn't be there. Your photos showed their really cute side---the one I love. Danny always liked the doves when they came to our feeder because it reminded him of his racing pigeons that he had as a young teen in Blair. I liked all the cute houses in the Art Gallery.
ReplyDeleteYou summed it up nicely when you called them Walmartians, we got a kick out of that, haha. So many of your art pictures today would make fun jigsaw puzzles, and as always, thanks for the flowers.
ReplyDeleteThose day lillies are real show stoppers!! Your flowers are all so pretty. I always love your cute black squirrels. The gallery pics are sweet, so lovely in their simplicity.
ReplyDeleteI have pink Rain Lilies in my yard, smaller than the Day Lilies but really pretty too. The closeup photos of animals and flowers are really impressive.
