A FEW WRONG TURNS TOOK US A LITTLE FARTHER THAN WE REALLY NEEDED TO GO

DESPITE COOLER TEMPS AND GUSTY WINDS, IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL SKY DAY
'Wind' was the operating word today, and if on my morning walk I hadn't held onto my hat, it would have ended up somewhere in the next county, and me most likely with it.  Luckily, I had thought to wear a warm wind-breaking nylon jacket........Good neighbor Monica's sister passed away last week, so Woodsy and I drove Monica to her son's place in St. Jacobs north of Kitchener, and from there Monica will travel with family members east of Toronto tomorrow to the funeral.  We will pick Monica up and bring her home from her son's place on Wednesday.  It was nice to see some different scenery for a welcome change today. It's probably been well over thirty years since I was last in that St. Jacobs area. What a lovely day for a drive, and we three enjoyed every inch of scenery all the way there.  Luckily, we even got to see some extra scenery when I took a few wrong turns, taking us a little farther than we really needed to go.  Like I said, I hadn't been up in that neck of the woods for decades, and I think they may have switched a few roads around on me.  Ya right!! We got Monica to her destination all in one piece, then turned around for home with a stop at Cedar Crest Acres north of Stratford on Highway 19.  Lorraine (Woodsie) headed inside while I stayed outside taking a few pics.  I think we were home somewhere around five o'clock, and that was it for the day.  I was ker-pooped.  Woodsie, on the other hand, drove into Bayfield, parked the car, and took herself for a long walk.  She loves walking.  Me, not quite as much unless it's in a quiet forest somewhere.  The weather people are calling for frost tonight, and that will trigger the end process for many plants and trees.  For our area, Autumn's beautiful colors are right around the corner now and forests will soon be ablaze with Autumn's finery.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( The Local sheriff was looking for a new deputy. When a Little Moron walks in to try for the job, he asks him "Okay, what is 1 and 1?" "Eleven", he replies. The sheriff thinks to himself, "That's not what I wanted, but I guess he's right!" "What two days of the week begin with the letter T?" he asks. "Today and Tomorrow", the Little Moron answers. The sheriff is again surprised that the Little Moron has supplied a correct answer that had not even occurred to him. "Now listen carefully, who killed Abe Lincoln?" he asks him. The Little Moron looks a little surprised. He thinks really hard for a minute and finally admits, "I don't know." "Well, why don't you go home and work on that one for a while?" So, the Little Moron wanders over to the pub, where his pals are waiting to hear the results of the interview. The Little Moron was exultant. "The interview went great!" he says. "First day on the job and I'm already working on a murder case!"

Dad to His Family: The Phone bill is exceptionally high;  you have to limit its use. I don't use this telephone. I use the one at the office.

Mom: Same here, I hardly use this phone as I use my work telephone.

Son: Me too, I never use the home telephone. I always use my company mobile.

Maid: So what's the problem? We all use our work telephones!

  1. Monica is fortunate to have you and Woodsie able to get her to important meetings/events. Isn't Oct 5th a tad early for a frost for your area?

How good and kind of you both to take Monica on that long drive so she could attend her sister's service. I remember spending fun times in St Jacobs. Cedar Creek Acres looked like fun. Most of those Art Gallery pictures could have been taken in the mountains ofTennessee.
