SOMETIMES THINGS JUST HAPPILY HAVE A WAY OF WORKING OUT THAT WAY:))

SECONDS AFTER TAKING THIS PHOTO IN BAYFIELD’S PIONEER PARK LATE THIS AFTERNOON PHEEBS AND I HAD TO MAKE A MAD DASH FOR THE JEEP THROUGH A DOWNPOUR

Thunder woke me in the night followed by a gentle rain.  Later looking at our radar map I saw that we had dodged the heavy rainfall which went through the Kitchener and Toronto areas way off to the east of us.  The storm front did leave us with cloudy skies for the rest of the day.

I FAILED TO TAKE NOTICE OF THE APPROACHING RAIN ON THE WATER

Although uninspired by the weather Pheebs and I did head off for a short drive southeast of Bayfield this morning.  Didn’t even bother to stop for a coffee to go in Bayfield.  We were home again within the hour and I retreated to my reading corner of the sunroom and settled in for a long boring overcast day.  Didn’t get to take any photos until shortly after supper later in the day

LOOKS LIKE BAYFIELDS VERSION OF FLORIDA

It was just after supper when I realized I was out of bananas.  ‘Oh-Oh’ a banana in my morning shake is a must so I loaded up the Pheebs and we drove into Bayfield’s Foodland store.  Noticed dark clouds out over the lake so we stopped and snapped off a few photos before unexpectantly being caught in a downpour.  Quickly covered my camera with a doggy doodoo bag which I always have in a back pocket and bolted for the Jeep.  Yes we did get a little soggy.  Ten minutes later I could see patches of blue sky to the east.  On our way back home we popped down to the north side of the harbor and managed a few more photos.  Happy to say I ended the day on a high note after a shaky morning start but I have a feeling I am in for some clear sailing again for awhile.  Sometimes things just happily have a habit of working out that way.  Thanks R:))

GROANER’S CORNER:((  Three handsome male dogs are walking down the street when they see a beautiful, enticing, female poodle. The three male dogs fall all over themselves in an effort to be the one to reach her first, but end up arriving in front of her at the same time. They're speechless before her beauty, slobbering on themselves and hoping for just a glance from her in return.  Aware of her charms and her obvious effect on the three suitors, she decides to be kind and tells them, "The first one who can use the words "liver" and "cheese" together in an imaginative, intelligent sentence can go out with me." The sturdy, muscular black Lab speaks up quickly and says "I love liver and cheese." "Oh, how childish," said the Poodle. "That shows no imagination or intelligence whatsoever." She turned to the tall, shiny Golden Retriever and said "How well can you do?" "Um. I HATE liver and cheese," blurts the Golden Retriever. "My, my," said the Poodle. "I guess it's hopeless. That's just as dumb as the Lab's sentence." She then turns to the last of the three dogs and says, "How about you, little guy?"  The last of the three, tiny in stature but big in finesse, is the Chihuahua. He gives her a smile, a sly wink, turns to the Golden Retriever and the Lab and says: "Liver alone. Cheese mine."

Little Mary was at her first wedding and gaped at the entire ceremony. When it was over, she asked her mother, “Why did the lady change her mind?”Her mother asked, “What do you mean?”"Well, she went down the aisle with one man and came back with another one.”

WOULD YOU BELIEVE WE HAVE NEVER HAD A SERIOUS ARGUMENT IN 25 YEARS:))

Despite being up past midnight watching the documentary channel Monday night I managed this morning somehow ‘not’ to role out on the wrong side of my recliner.  With both left feet on the floor I commenced the day on an even keel.  Bravo!

With temperatures in the low 50’s and a brisk breeze from the east keeping insects at bay I figured it would be safe to venture over to the Hullett Marsh so with coffee in hand from Clinton’s Tim Hortons that is just what we did. By the way we have had a Special Weather Statement Issued this afternoon at 15:28 Tuesday 26 June 2018  ‘Potential for heavy thunderstorms Wednesday followed by an extreme heat event for the Canada Day long weekend’.  Good news about more rain but bad news about more heat and  it’s miserable sidekick…….humidity!!  I think they are talking +90F.

Didn’t see much in the way of animal life and only one frog.  Not even any birds in the air.  We were lucky enough to have a half hour bug free walk but as old Sol slowly crept up into the eastern sky temperatures began to rapidly rise and I soon heard the tell-tale sounds of buzzing Deer Flies.  Our walk immediately ended and it was back to the Jeep we headed.  But at least we had got out for a walk and that was the main thing.  No point in stopping anywhere else with biting bugs out and about so it was home we went.

I’m not a big Facebook enthusiast and it’s not a site I spend much time on but boy oh boy it bugs me when things do not work properly.  I noticed about 3 weeks ago after a Windows 10 update that my Facebook had somehow changed.  I lost the ‘Memories Look Back’ I had been so fond about.  I also noticed anytime I clicked on Facebook it only brought up maybe 2 people’s sites and other times just said ‘Welcome To Facebook’.  Well it was Kelly to the rescue today and she fixed it so now when I do happen to go there at least the darn fool thing is working properly again.  Don’t know if I have the ‘Memories’ thing back or not yet though and that is what I liked best about Facebook.

I’m not what you might call a confrontational fellow.  It just isn’t in my nature to be that way and I am the type of person who crosses the street in order to avoid trouble.  Don’t like to see people arguing or fighting.  I have memories of that as a young child and it has left it’s mark.  If confronted with an argument I have to be aware of my quick temper and walk away.   If I lose my temper nobody wins.  For people like me it is not always easy having to cross that street but it has to be done at times.  Kelly is the same way and would you believe we have never had an argument since the day we met back in the summer of 1993 twenty five years ago.  Yes we’ve had our differences of course but we have always been able to discuss and talk things through without reverting to arguing about it leaving behind irreparable hurt feelings.  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I have the best wife of any guy on the Planet and of course that begs the question,  ‘how in the heck did that ever happen to a character like me’??  Say, now there’s a subject I could probably write a book about……………:))

GROANER’S CORNER:(( It was the end of the day when I parked my police car in front of the station. As I gathered my equipment, my K-9 partner, Jake, was barking, and I saw a little boy staring in at me.  "Is that a dog you got in the back seat there?" he asked. "It sure is," I replied.  Puzzled, the boy looked at me and then towards the back of the car. Finally he said, "What'd he do?"

Its this anti-immigration legislation that they’re trying to push, where they would allow police officers to racially profile undocumented immigrants, especially people in the Mexican community. I think that Is horrendous. But what amazes me is that people support this law. I was watching the news, this woman in Arizona, looking at a camera, straight faced, she says, Hey, were just trying to bring the country back to the way it used to be. The way it used to be? Lady, your in Arizona. It used to be Mexico!!!!

NEW TAILPIPES ON THE MOTORHOME TODAY AND WHERE DO WE REALLY GO WHEN OUR DREAMS LEAD THE WAY

DSC_7575

THIS MAY ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE A FOREST SOMEWHERE BUT IT’S RIGHT HERE AT HOME NEXT TO OUR BACK YARD

Had my fingers tightly crossed all night that it wouldn’t be raining in the morning and believing in the power of crossed fingers our day dawned sunny and bright.  Didn’t want to get the Motorhome all slopped up on wet roads taking it to Clinton.  With Kelly and Pheebs following in the Jeep I had the rig at Carter's West End Garage shortly before 8:30.  This garage has a good reputation and they did some muffler work on our Class A Damon Challenger years ago as well and did a good job.  After dropping off the rig we headed home again.  Not knowing how long it would take them to replace two tailpipes I decided to stay home all day just in case they finished it up early.  It was late afternoon when the phone rang and we headed back to Clinton to pick up the coach.  Two brand spanking new tailpipes securely in place.

Maybe it was because Pheebs and I didn’t get out for our country drive this morning or something but it was one of those days I just couldn’t get myself airborne again.  I can remember bits and pieces of a dream I had last night and maybe that added to my slump.  I was reminded of a post I wrote a year ago about my thoughts on dreams.  It seemed relevant to my mood today so thought I’d repost it…………..’Ever wonder about that other world we all transition to in a matter of seconds every day or several times a day and mostly at night for long periods?  You know the one where our minds take us when we are not conscious.  When our awake world gives way to our sleep world.  What Universe or Planet or virtual state are we instantly transported to and how is it done and why is it done over and over for the whole duration of our lives?  We call them dreams and they can come any time our minds are not preoccupied with our conscious world.  We sometimes laugh them off and pay little heed but is there something much deeper going on here.  I wrote a post about this years ago and today dozing for a few minutes in my recliner I was reminded of that post as my mind once again took me to a place very far away.  A different world yet somehow familiar.  I see people there, interact with people there.  Some are strangers, some are good friends and many times the people in my mind have recently or long ago passed away but there they are and I am somehow one with  them again and they with me.  There never is a state of animosity with any of these people only a curiosity, a knowing, yet an unknowing, and a kind of confusing understanding.  It’s like I’m walking slowly through a fog with people appearing and walking alongside in a helping manner then disappearing once again into the mist.  I know I’m not alone experiencing this, it’s a known occurrence with many people but what is it.  Is it real, is it imaginary, is it a mind playing tricks, or is there really somewhere else just as real as where we are here in our current conscious states on what we have evolved to call Planet Earth.   All religious connotations aside, what is really going on in our minds.  What is it we don’t know about ourselves, our lives, our Planet, our Universe.  What connections to our minds does this vast secretive Solar System of ours really hold.  Are those places we go and those people we see and communicate with in our unconsciousness really the key to this mystery of life?  In my opinion there is not a single human being on this entire Planet who knows the answers to any of these questions.  Nor has there ever been or probably ever will be.  Many will profess to have the answers and know all but I am not one of them and I do not believe all those who say they do.  I feel this though…..there is something somewhere for some reason and it is not anything any conscious human mind thinks it knows or has the answers too.  And I don’t believe it has anything to do with any of man’s religions around the world as he believes them to be.  Whatever it is, I believe it to be beyond the understanding of the human race as we currently understand ourselves’………………….

GROANER’S CORNER:((  A tough looking group of hairy bikers are riding when they see a girl about to jump off a bridge, so they stop. The leader, a big burly man, gets off his bike and says, "What are you doing?" "I'm going to commit suicide," she says. While he doesn’t want to appear insensitive, he also doesn’t want to miss an opportunity, so he asks, "Well, before you jump, why don't you give me a kiss?" She does, and it is a long, deep, lingering kiss. After she's finished, the tough, hairy biker says, "Wow! That was the best kiss I’ve ever had! That's a real talent you’re wasting. You could be famous. Why are you committing suicide?" "My parents don't like me dressing up like a girl…"
