JUST AS ZANY ON OUR LAST COUNTRY ROAD COFFEE TOUR TODAY AS OUR FIRST COUNTRY ROAD COFFEE TOUR YEARS AGO:))

DSC00767

Richard walked over about 8:15 this morning, Kelly took a few photos, and the boys were off on their last country road coffee tour until next time someday.  We both feel it wasn’t our last of ever coffee, just the end of our bi-monthly Thursday morning Huron County coffee and muffin travels.

KELLY ENTITED THIS PICTURE ‘THERE THEY GO’

Coffee and eats to go at McDonalds, harbor and beach cruise, then south of Bayfield to the Naftel's Creek Conservation Area where we hit the trail and walked to the little cabin in the woods.  Would have been a much nicer walk had the damn Mosquitos left us alone.  Every time we stopped we got swarmed so had to keep moving.  Quick look at the cabin and we were soon back to the Jeep.  Slowly cruised a few more country roads then headed for home.

Despite this being the last of our routine coffee tours our non stop conversation never skipped a beat with our attention towards the end settling more around our age factors and the relentless march of time quickening the uncertain future.  Memories over the past 43 always bring us a few laughs and sad thoughts about those we knew who are now gone.  Always light hearted, humorous, interestingly serious, and educatingly prophetic, all wrapped up into each and every one of our conversations every time we meet.  Been like that ever since we met many, many, Moons ago.  I will greatly miss my best friend, our coffee tours and all the things we talked about over the years.  But here’s the neat thing.  Where and whenever we meet next we will just pick right up where we left off as if a day hadn’t passed between us.  Until next time……….

AND A FRIENDLY WAVE FROM A LOCAL FARM GAL ON OUR WAY HOME

Busied myself this afternoon gathering up some lawn ornaments to store in our newly roofed shed.  Some of them now and some of them in November after we return.  Because we’ll be home before freeze-up we don’t have to go through the whole complete winter shut-down and storage like the past dozen years and that is just fine with me.  If we decide to go somewhere in January or February we’ll deal with all of that then.

I think the hardest part of going anywhere is waiting to go.  Especially those last few weeks and days.  Nothing much one can do about it except to get up and get going when the time for going gets good.   Only way to end those anxious days is to get rolling because the instant the big wheels begin turning all that waiting to go has just up and went and it’s a whole new mindset.  A whole new ball game, a whole new bag of hammers to contend with.  No more waiting, just doing.  The trip is underway and the mind immediately re-sets itself to the task at hand.  Always nice to check the rear view mirror and not only see but feel all those pre-travel anxieties being left behind in the dust.  Within seconds all daily sticks and bricks routines are gone and our stationery house heads are replaced with our traveling RV heads.  Always a great feeling to finally be going somewhere and always a great feeling knowing we will be coming home again at the end of our travels.  I’d almost sorta be inclined call that a win/win situation:))

GROANER’S CORNER:(( Different ways to say someone is not so bright.…….

That guys a few clowns short of a circus.

A few fries short of a Happy Meal.

An experiment in Artificial Stupidity.

He’s a few beers short of a six-pack.

Dumber than a box of hair.

She’s a few peas short of a casserole.

Doesn't have all her cornflakes in one box.

The wheel's spinning, but the hamster's dead.

One Fruit Loop shy of a full bowl.

One taco short of a combination plate.

That lady is a few feathers short of a whole duck.

He’s all foam, no beer.

Body by Fisher, brains by Mattel.

That kid couldn't pour water out of a boot with instructions on the heel.

She fell out of the stupid tree and hit every branch on the way down.

An intellect rivaled only by garden tools.

He’s about as smart as a bag of bait.

Doesn't have all his dogs on one leash.

Doesn't know much but leads the league in nostril hair.

Elevator doesn't go all the way to the top floor.

Forgot to pay his brain bill.

Her sewing machine's out of thread.

His antenna doesn't pick up all the channels.

His belt doesn't go through all the loops.

If she he had another brain, it would be lonely.

That guy is proof that evolution CAN go in reverse.

Nice guy but too much yardage between the goal posts.

She’s certainly not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

The lights are on, but nobody's home.

He’s about 24 cents short of a quarter.

WE'VE NEVER BEEN MUCH FOR STRUCTURED TRAVELS

DSC_1896_thumb1
A NICE WAY TO START THE DAY AS WE DROVE OUT OF OUR PARK
With days becoming shorter and mornings darker I am once again in the habit of glancing up at the sky when I take Pheebs out around 6 a.m.  Knew we were in for a sunny day when a host of stars appeared through the tops of our Park's tall pine trees.

Lots of things quickly piling up on our ‘to do’ list so Pheebs and I hit the road early so as to be home early.  Curious to see how the Tim Horton coffee shop construction we headed south out of Bayfield but not before taking a swing down around the harbor.

APPARENTLY THERE IS A LOT OF LOCAL OPPOSITION TO THIS NEW TIM HORTON ,COFFEE SHOP,  CONVENIENCE STORE, AND ESSO GAS BAR FACILITY
Mike finished up our shed roof today and I can see that it's another job well done.  That roof will extend the life of our wooden shed for years to come.  He did our larger shed's roof last summer and just in the nick of time too as water had been slowly encroaching into the shed itself. We are very fortunate to have talented people right here in our very own Park.  How all these guys learn this stuff is beyond me.  I sure missed the boat learning how to do 'handy man' stuff years ago and for most of these guys all this stuff just seems to come natural to them.  The only thing that ever came natural to me was knowing how to build myself a peanut butter and honey sandwich.

Rolling along with Pheebs this morning on some of our favorite country roads taking in Huron Counties beautiful rural scenery the thought occurred to me I will miss this years Autumn leaves in our area.  By the time we get back possibly in November sometime the scenery will be totally different.  November can easily be the bleakest month of the year with summer’s green and autumn’s gold replaced by pre-winters dull and gray.  Last November’s October like weather was the exception and to expect that to happen again this year is just simply hoping for way to much.  We’ll just have to wait and see how things shake out and be prepared to accept whatever it is and make the best of it.

HEY IS THAT A TOUCH OF EARLY AUTUMN OVER THERE

BY MID NOVEMBER ALL THIS GREEN WILL BE LONG GONE

We don't know 'exactly' where we are going yet in a few days except to say we are heading East for Canada's Maritime Provinces.  We'll make it up as we go relying on tourist brochures and the internet to spark our imaginations.  We've never been much for structured travels.  Don't like being locked into reservations and time schedules.  We intend to stick to our preferred boon-docking ways taking each day and destination by how we are feeling.

Richard and I will set off on our last country road coffee tour in the morning.  It will mark the end of an era for us…………..

WE TURNED RIGHT AND HEADED FOR THE LIGHT
GROANER’S CORNER:((  A helicopter was flying above Seattle when an electrical malfunction disabled all of the aircraft's electronic navigation and communications equipment. Due to the clouds and haze, the pilot could not determine the helicopter's position and course to steer to the airport. The pilot saw a tall building, flew toward it, circled, drew a handwritten sign and held it up in the helicopter window. The pilot's sign said, "Where am I?" in large letters. The people in the tall building quickly responded to the aircraft, drew a large sign and held it to the window of their building. Their sign read, "You are in a helicopter."The pilot smiled, waved, looked at the map, determined the course to steer to the SEATAC airport and landed safely. After they were on the ground, the copilot asked the pilot how the "You are in a helicopter" sign helped determine their position. The pilot responded, "I knew that had to be the Microsoft building because, similar to their help-lines, they gave me a technically correct but completely useless answer!"

A man was telling his neighbor, "I just bought a new hearing aid. It cost me four thousand dollars, but it's state of the art. It's perfect." "Really," answered the neighbor . "What kind is it?" "Twelve thirty."
