I DID THIS POST WITH BLOGGER'S NEW FORMAT AND ALL WENT WELL:))

MORE FLOWERS IN OUR FLOWER GARDENS
Sunny warm start to our day so I knew it was going to be another hot one.  Loaded up Little Chief Crazy Beans and off we went with all windows down.  Quickly
accelerating to a higher speed we almost blew the stuffings out of ourselves.
Rolled out north of Goderich wandering a few gravely roads.  With the heat and humidity building, I knew we wouldn't be walking anywhere so it wasn't long and we were back home again.  In human years Pheebs is about the same age I am now and I've noticed the heat bothers her too.  She's not keen on our afternoon walks so much anymore and lags behind and sometimes just downright doesn't want to go in which case we don't go.

Two days in a row now I have gone out to put some birdseed on the feeder and ended up puttering around in the heat at garden projects.  Not too smart on my part.  Today I mowed our front yard and noticed more of last year's clover has finally come up.  Both grass and clover are working nicely together to fill in our lawn.  Will be good to have something green other than moss this summer.

By the end of July the old Blogger format will be gone forever.  I tried the new Blogger several times, didn't like it, and went back to the old Blogger.  The writing is plainly on the wall and tells me if I don't get with Blogger's new program my blogging days will soon be over.  So, here I am for my third attempt at their new format.  No point in me expressing my frustrations with their new platform and just get on with it best I can.  Expect to see blog fumbles for awhile.  Photo spacing, unexpected changes in text size, etc.  All the usual Blogger stuff.  I will start out with a large font making it easier for me to see what I'm writing as well as making it easier for folks to read.  I know how frustratingly annoying it is when people use a small font that makes me have to enlarge my computer screen every time I attempt to read their posts.  I have a tendency to avoid posts using small print.
NOT SURE BUT I'M WONDERING IF THIS MIGHT BE A BABY BALTIMORE ORIOLE ON OUR FEEDER
Luckily we had a breeze in off the lake this afternoon which lifted some of the heavy humidity out of the air making a walk doable for Pheebs and I.  Plus, our temperatures are thankfully going down.  We ventured back along the new bush roads looking for some old familiar trail markers but it's a whole different landscape back there now.  From one new road, we crossed a small creek to where another new road will be joining up once a culvert is put in.  I got across the creek without any soakers but Pheebs got 4 soakers, a wet tummy, and a soggy tail.  Once these roads are done it will make for some nice walking and bicycling.  Yes, I would prefer the old trails but it's not the way things are here anymore and time moves on.
TWO NEW ROADS WILL JOIN UP IN THAT GULLY SOON
THE ROADS WILL JOIN OVER A CULVERT HERE AT THIS CREEK
WE'RE ACROSS THE CREEK LOOKING BACK
THIS ONE BULLDOZER SURE HAS ALTERED OUR PARK'S LANDSCAPE
AND THIS IS THE VERY DOZER THAT WIPED OUT 'MY TREE'
Okay, so I just finished my whole post using Blogger's new format and this time I slid right through it like a hot knife through butter.  Never had any problems. (except for two paragraphs)  Different way of embedding photos but I figured it out and it's maybe a better way than before....it that's possible.  Maybe I just got lucky this time or maybe Blogger has fixed a few 'bug' issues this past week.  Anyway, I will keep my fingers crossed that future blog efforts will be as simple as this one was:))
GROANER'S CORNER:(( John's working at the lumber yard, pushing a tree through the buzz saw, and accidentally shears off all ten of his fingers. He goes to the hospital. The doctor says, "Yuck! Well, give me the fingers, and I'll see what I can do." John says, "I haven't got the fingers." The doctor says, "What do you mean, you haven't got the fingers? It's 2012. We've got microsurgery and all kinds of incredible techniques. I could have put them back on and made you like new. Why didn't you bring the fingers?" John says, "Well, Doc, I couldn't pick 'em up."

A FEW PHOTOS

Sitting in front of my computer tonight I could not think of anything to write about.  I will leave you with a few photos from a walk in the Hullett-Marsh this morning.
ALL PHOTOS TAKEN WITH MY NIKON CP900
GROANER'S CORNER:(( The wrestler was showing off some fancy moves to the crowd. He turned toward me and asked, 'How do you like them grapples'?”

Father: Look at all these bills! Taxes, rent, telephone, clothes, food. The cost of living is going up everywhere. I’d be happy if just one thing went down.
Little Johnny: Dad, here’s my report card.

WOULDN'T SAY I HAVE WON THE FRONT YARD SQUIRREL WAR BUT SO FAR SO GOOD

It was a loud clap of thunder followed by a deluge of rain that temporarily woke me up around 4 a.m.  At first light about an hour later all was calm with hardly a creature stirring, not even a leaf.
NO, THIS IS NOT OUR PLACE BUT IT IS ANOTHER RESIDENCE IN OUR PARK
DID YOU SEE THE CHIPMUNK IN THE OTHER PHOTO
I really didn't do much of anything interesting to write about today.  A very routine drive out southeast of Bayfield checking the Eagles nest along the way.  Nobody home.
SO NICE TO SEE WILD PHLOX BLOOMING ALONG THE ROADSIDES AGAIN
We were back in our driveway before 10 o'clock.  Cut some grass in the back yard and with the humidity building I had to retreat inside and stay there for the rest of the day with the exception of a short walk with Pheebs.
Aside from an occasional skirmish with our front yard Squirrels this Spring I'd say things are looking on the up and up.  Since putting the bird station atop a tall piece of PVC pipe last summer we haven't had one Squirrel climb up onto the feeder.  And since trimming back nearby shrubs and tree branches they have not been able to make the flying leap onto the feeder either.  I am not naive enough to think I have won the Squirrel wars but I have been successful in thwarting their most determined efforts these last 10 months or so.  Have had a couple minor incidents with the finch feeder but not the main birdfeeder station.
GROANER'S CORNER:((  Eight-year-old Sally brought her report card home from school. Her marks were good...mostly A's and a couple of B's.  However, her teacher had written across the bottom: "Sally is a smart little girl, but she has one fault. She talks too much in school. I have an idea I am going to try, which I think may break her of the habit."  Sally's dad signed her report card, putting a note on the back: "Please let me know if your idea works on Sally because I would like to try it out on her Mother."
