| PHEEBS AND I STOPPED TO HELP THIS RATHER HANDSOME YOUNG FELLOW EARLIER TODAY |
A fast traveling storm front swept through in the night with brief spells of rain drumming loudly enough on our steel roof to stir me from my slumber. Upon first light, we were greeted with puddles in the driveway and windswept cloudy skies. By 6 a.m. we were already at 75F with a stiff breeze blowing up out of the South. Our A/C kicked on an hour later. With sunshine beginning to break through about 9 our second hottest day of June 2020 was well underway. |
STOPPED ON OUR WAY TO GODERICH TO MOVE THIS SNAPPING TURTLE OFF THE ROAD AND HE SURE WAS SNAPPING AT ME ALRIGHT
|
 |
| HAD TO USE MY CAMERA TRIPOD TO NUDGE HIM ALONG |
Venturing up to Goderich with gusty winds blowing us along it was both a gas and coffee stop before heading on down to the harbor. I'll be so glad if and when they finally get the road opened up out to Rotary Cove. Both Pheebs and I really miss stopping at the dog walking area. |
| HERE'S US BUMS JUST CRUISIN THROUGH THE COUNTRYSIDE |
 |
| AND THIS THERMOMETER LATE THIS AFTERNOON OUTSIDE OUR SUNROOM WAS IN THE SHADE TOO |
If we thought Tuesday was hot and humid we hadn't met Wednesday yet. Luckily relief is fast approaching in the form of severe storms in our area when two opposing weather fronts collide. Relief from this heat will be very welcome and much appreciated by some of us. Mainly me!! |
| ONE OF OUR SECRET 'HIDEAWAY' ROAD STOPS THIS MORNING AND THAT IS A MALE RED WING BLACKBIRD BELOW |
Seems to be a number of bear sightings in our area this past while and someone caught a black bear on video east of Goderich this morning. Pheebs and I have never encountered anything like that on area trails but it's one of those things that kinda hangs around in the back of one's mind sometimes when out walking. And especially the last couple years with bear sightings being on the upswing. |
| THE GRACKLES ARE REALLY TRAUMATIZING OUR SUET FEEDER THIS YEAR |
Checking our live radar weather map this afternoon we could see our neighbor Michigan to the west of us on the other side of Lake Huron was really getting smashed up by a series of violent looking storms moving along their peninsula from south to north. This is what our radar map showed at 4 p.m. this afternoon........Storms over Michigan. At 6 p.m. those traveling thunderstorms came ashore here in Bayfield dumping a lot of rain on us. We were lucky, areas northeast of us around Blyth and Brussels had trees and branches down. Our temps dropped from the low 90's around four o'clock to the low 60's around six o'clock. Oh Boy, comfortable weather days are here again:))))) GROANER'S CORNER:(( Has anyone else's gardening skills improved during this quarantine like mine have? I planted myself on the sofa at the start of April and I’ve been growing bigger ever since. --------------------------
A coworker named Celsius recently retired at my work, so they hired a guy named Kelvin to replace him. He's the new temp. he seems like a cool guy.

Are people born with a photographic memory? Or does it take time to develop?

I went to see my doctor and he asked for a stool sample. So I decided to take a basic woodworking course.

It takes a big man to admit when he's wrong, and an even bigger one to keep his mouth shut when he's right.
