By 6 a.m. this morning it was already 65F so I knew we were in for a hot and humid day. Tried to think of something different to do or go but my mind came up empty so it was our old Bayfield/Varna route we soon found ourselves on again. Luckily there was a slight breeze and I didn't think it was as humidly hot as Thursday morning.  |

Managed ourselves a walk on the dead-end road near Kerr's Campground resulting in one Deer Fly bite and two Mosquito bites. Not bad considering the time of year, the heat, humidity, and our close proximity to a swampy area. |

Home again about 10:30 I was able to transplant a couple Day Lilies and remove a bothersome branch from our Sunburst Locust tree. Also did some watering before the heat finally chased me into the house. This current heatwave is predicted to last a few more days before temps drop and return to more seasonable levels for this time of year. Looking forward to that. |

Despite this afternoon's heat Pheebs and I did take a walk back along one of the new roads figuring on crossing the little creek and coming back along one of the other new roads. Well, it was not to be. At the spot where Pheebs and I have been crossing lately was a great big orange machine stuck fast in the creek. And boy oh boy was it ever stuck!!
