NO BUYERS REMORSE :))

Sometimes it is not unusual for us to come down with a case of buyer's remorse shortly after making either small or large purchases.  Neither one of us experienced that last night and we both slept well waking up with a good feeling about our 2002 Class C Winnebago purchase yesterday.  Anxious to get it home now and add our personal touches to it.  We will take out the dinette for sure and possibly that tub chair replacing them with more comfortable seating which is always a priority for us.  We did that with both our Class A's.
I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE THESE SUMACS ALONG THE ROAD AGING SO FAST
HERE'S SOME GREEN APPLES JUST WAITING FOR A COUPLE NAIVE YOUNG BOYS TO COME ALONG AND EAT EM
Not even the hint of a breeze earlier this morning when Pheebs and I slipped into Bayfield and out the other side.  The air was so still not even the wind turbines were moving.  Not hot enough at 8 a.m. for A/C but we did have to have all our windows down.

I was glad I didn't have to make another trip to Goderich and pick up a box of tiny lancets for my diabetes One Touch blood glucose monitoring set-up.  On our way home from the Delhi-Tillsonberg area Thursday we slid north up through Ingersol Ontario stopping at a McDonalds for a coffee to go.  Kelly noticed a Shoppers Drug-Mart nearby and slipped in there to pick up the lancelets I needed.  She always has her thinking cap on.  I think I backed over mine years ago in a snow storm.

Heat and humidity built up fast again this morning so Pheebs and I didn't stay out long.  Home again I mowed some grass in our back yard and transplanted a bunch of Prickly Pear cactus which I have been nurturing along in pots after last winter's cold weather nearly wiped them all out.

I have been lax at answering either blog or Facebook comments these last bunch of years but I pulled out all the stops a few days ago and have made sure to answer every comment I have received so far on my past Tuesday post.  Sorry if I missed anyone but do know I made an enjoyably sincere effort to reach out to everyone.
GROANER'S CORNER:((    A family was visiting an Indian reservation when they happened upon an old tribesman laying face down in the middle of the road with his ear pressed firmly against the blacktop. The father of the family asked the old tribesman what he was doing. The tribesman began to speak..."woman, late thirties, three kids, one barking dog in late model, white, four-door station wagon, traveling at 65 m.p.h. "That's amazing!" exclaimed the father. "You can tell all that just by listening to the ground?" "No," said the old tribesman, weakly. "They just ran over me five minutes ago!"

OKAY, SO GUESS WHAT US BUMS BOUGHT TODAY:))

AND PHEEBS LIKES IT TOO
Woke up to another very mighty fine cool sunny morning and with all three of us in the Jeep again we rolled out our driveway at 7:35 a.m.  Our destination 85 miles away was a countryside location south of Woodstock somewhere between the two towns of Delhi and Tillsonburg Ontario.  We had someone to meet at the Fody Automotive Plus garage who had a twenty-four foot 2002 Class C Chevy 3500 Winnebago Itasca Spirit for sale.  The Class C, owned by an older couple in Guelph was at Fody's Garage for its safety check prior to selling.  The couple's RVing son lives in Delhi.
After a fair bit of trouble finding Fodys and a few phone calls to the rig's owner Marvin, already in the area, we finally met up in a little place called Springford and Marvin led us the last five or six miles to Fody's rural location.  Let me say right up front, being good judges of character, we liked Marvin right off the bat and found him to be a decent and honest fellow.  I think he might be around our age.
INTERIOR IS CLEAN, BRIGHT, AND IN VERY GOOD CONDITION
THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF WARE IN THE CAB

FIRST TIME WE'VE HAD A RIG WITH A FRIDGE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND GLAD TO SEE A REAL WOOD DOOR ON THE WASHROOM INSTEAD OF A CURTAIN OR SLIDING DOOR
After a walk around it didn't take us long to decide this was the rig we have been looking for.  It was in great shape for its age with only 75,000 miles on it.  New awning, new coach battery, it's been undercoated so no rust and the back four tires are new.  Front tires are in great shape as well.  No slides or levelers so no hydraulics to worry about and that's what we wanted.  Hardwood and linoleum floor and no carpeting which was another big plus.  Fiberglass roof and an Onan generator.  No back-up camera so that is something we will have to get installed.  Has a propane hook-up inside so we could use our Blueflame heater again if needed.  Much cheaper than running the furnace.  Inside is nice and clean and with a bit of elbow grease, I'm sure I can get the outside looking like new again.  Graphics are faded but that's normal for an RV of that age.  We took it out for a drive and it has a lot of pep which is a big plus if we happen to get back into the mountains of the Southwest again someday.  Both our Class A Motorhomes had 8 cylinder Chevrolet engines as well as our Class C Sunseeker.  Our Class C Winnebago Access had a Ford V-10 engine and from driving those rigs I'd have to say I have a preference for the peppier Chevy V-8 motors.  They just seem to have more get up and go power.
REALLY LIKE THE TIRE COVER
LUCKILY WE WERE BOTH ON THE SAME PAGE THIS TIME AND LIKED THE RIG
SONY RADIO
With a bit of luck we might be able to pick it up by the end of next week after it has gone through its mandatory safety inspection at Fodys.  The safety inspection and anything that has to be repaired will be paid for by the present owner.  We bought the rig at a fair price and feel confident about our purchase.  No immediate travel plans of course but after a year of looking the Bayfield Bunch will soon be back on the road again:))))))

Well holy smokes, Canada Day blew right by me yesterday.  I knew about it of course but I forgot to remember it.  Let me just say this about our country.  I think we here in Canada are about the most fortunate people on the Planet to live in the type of society we do and I believe it is so important we all try our utmost best to keep it that way.  It's a beautiful land we have here, let's not let it decay and destroy itself from within and lose it.
AND WE EVEN SAW SOME AMISH-MENNONITE FOLKS ON OUR TRAVELS NEAR WHERE WE LOOKED AT THE WINNEBAGO SPIRIT
GROANER'S CORNER:((  It was a disastrous year for the farmers. The snow fell and fell until the government relief agency had to step in and lend a hand."It must have been terrible," said the government man to a farmer. "All that snow.""Could have been worse," calmly answered the farmer. "My neighbor had more snow than me.""How's that?" asked the government man."More land," replied the farmer.

A gentleman entered a busy florist shop that displayed a large sign that read "Say It With Flowers.""Wrap up one rose," he told the florist."Only one?" the florist asked."Just one," the customer replied. "I'm a man of few words."

TOTALLY OVERWHELMED

To say I was totally overwhelmed by the response from readers this morning would be putting it very mildly.  Blog comments, Facebook, and a few emails had me walking on air after hearing from new and long-ago friends, acquaintances, and total strangers, who I thought for sure were long gone off to other more interesting and exciting things.  It was so nice to see some old familiar friend's names again.  I seem to go along okay for a while until something in my personality becomes discouraged with itself and trips up my blog efforts.  When that happens part of me wants to throw in the blogging towel and call it a day, yet another bigger part of me says, 'no way' we're not done with this whole blogging thing just yet.  Despite my periodic lapses and self-doubt I really enjoy putting my posts together every day and hope to do so for a long time to come.  Thanks to everyone out there for putting up with these aging insecurities of mine and a special thanks for your unwavering encouragement and support.  I haven't been very good at responding to comments over the years but I made it a point today to answer each and every comment regarding my Tuesday night post:))
HMMMM, STRANGE HAPPENINGS AROUND OUR BIRD BATH THIS MORNING
AWWWW, LOOKS LIKE GRACKLES TO ME
WITH TODAY'S HEAT OUR BIRD BATH WAS A VERY POPULAR PLACE
A YOUNG GRACKLE THAT HASN'T GROWN IT'S DARKER COLORS YET
Would you believe we ended up in Goderich for the third day in a row this morning.  Had to pick up some diabetic test strips at Walmart which I should have picked up yesterday.  Of course, when I got home this morning I realized I had forgot to pick up a package little pin like lancets for drawing blood.  Oh, this forgetful mind of mine.  Well, at least you know where Pheebs and I will be headed in the morning again.  (oops, there's been a change of plans) We did manage a run down around Goderich's Rotary Cove this morning but I didn't take any photos.  Just kinda got out of the Jeep and stood by the water's edge for awhile taking in all the beauty surrounding me and feeling reassured about things.

A LITTLE WHITE CLOUD POODLE FLOATING ON IT'S BACK ACROSS THE SKY
Our heat and humidity really ramped up today so Pheebs and I didn't even attempt to go for a walk anywhere.  However, a notice came up on our Kijiji buy and sell site for a 24' 2005 Class C Winnebago not too far from Bayfield so we did go have a look at it.  Nice unit but it had a rear kitchen which doesn't work for us.  We have another Class C to look at which is a 2002 and also a Winnebago so we will set off early in the morning and head down south of Woodstock Ontario to have a look at it.
THIS MOURNING DOVE IS ALL RUFFLED UP LOOKING TOUGH AND STUFF TO SCARE AWAY A BLUE JAY STANDING AT THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BIRD FEEDER PLATFORM
THE BLUE JAY GOT ALL SCARED AND FLEW AWAY SO THIS LITTLE DOVE RETURNED TO HER NORMAL CUTESY SELF
Other than that it's been another quiet day.  I'm getting along okay with my finger sticking device for testing my blood sugar levels and so far so good with the acceptable numbers.  Just to mention something here.....a couple days after starting on Metformin the prescribed diabetes drug I stopped and decided to try something else first.  A few readers had suggested something called Berberine so that is what I'm on at the moment.  If my blood sugar levels come into line I'll maybe stay with it and if not I'll go ahead and re-start the Metformin.  And thanks again everybody for your continuing blog support:))

- You think that Roe v. Wade is a decision you make when crossing the creek.
- It takes you and 31 others in the same room to show off a full set of teeth.
- You've ever stood outside a K-mart for more than an hour arguing with the manager about the shirt and shoes law.
