LOOKED UP THE MEANING OF 'SEDENTARY LIFESTYLE' AND IT LEFT ME A LITTLE SHAKY

Short 20-minute drive for Pheebs and I into Bayfield this morning.  Home again I hopped into our little Winnie and drove it over to Richards.  He's going to make and install a wider set of running boards for it.  Being Richard's turn to drive this morning we climbed into his van and headed off on another one of our semi-monthly country road coffee runs.  And needless to say, a good time was had by all.  I'll pick the Motorhome up in a few days.

SPOTTED THIS BLUE HERON IN THE HULLET MARSH A FEW DAYS AGO TRYING TO EAT IT'S LUNCH

Although the day turned out to be cloudy and cool with a few rain showers I was quite happy with it being that way.  A very welcome change from hot and humid.

Kelly's jaw is feeling much better and she is past the pain meds.  My Nurse Practitioner phoned late Friday afternoon with some good news.  Said there was no need for me to come in twice next week for another 24 blood pressure test. (squeezy thing on my arm)  Said they finally found my test results from over a month ago.  Said my overall blood pressure was a bit high but nothing to panic about.

COUNTED 8 FROGS IN OUR POND TODAY

With cooler air upon us today I could feel my hitch-itch stirring.  After 13 straight years of heading south in the Fall that hitch-itch feeling is ingrained in me now and generally begins with the seasonal change from Summer to Autumn.  And that would be right about now.

SAW THIS VW CAMPER-VAN IN BAYFIELD THIS MORNING AND WONDERED IF IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN MINE BACK IN THE MID 80'S WHEN IN EARLY SEPTEMBER I TOURED AROUND CANADA'S EAST COAST WITH IT
'Hitch-itch' - The restless urge to see new territory, to find what is beyond the curve in the road ahead.  Both Snow Bird and Fulltime RVers after staying in one spot for a time get hitch-itch and want to hook up their RV and move on down the road to see new sights.

When as a young person not at all that many years ago the words 'sedentary lifestyle' didn't mean a hill of beans to me.  It was something old people did and had no place or meaning in my life.  My oh my how things have changed and oh how those two once distant and then unimportant words have come back to not only tap me on the shoulder but to absolutely grab me by the shoulders and shake me like a rag doll!!  I looked up the meaning of 'sedentary lifestyle' today and it left me more than a little shaky.  Neither Kelly or I have ever been big on exercising for the sake of exercising and yet here we are now at a point in our lives where probably one of the best things we could do for ourselves would be to get involved in some kind of exercise program.  Just the thought of that gives me the willows, and yet here we are standing at that very sedentary lifestyle doorstep.  Oh Dear, how did this happen and where are we to begin..........................

GROANER'S CORNER:(( The German controllers at Frankfurt Airport were a short-tempered lot. They not only expected you to know your parking location but how to get there without any assistance from them. So it was with some amusement that we (PanAm 747) listened to the following exchange between Frankfurt ground and a British Airways 747 (radio call Speedbird 206) after landing.

Speedbird 206: "Good morning Frankfurt, Speedbird 206 clear of the active."

Ground: "Good Morning, taxi to your gate." The British Airways 747 pulls onto the main taxiway and stops.

Ground: "Speedbird, do you not know where you are going?"

Speedbird 206: "Stand by, Ground, I'm looking up the gate location now."

Ground (impatiently): "Speedbird 206, have you never flown to Frankfurt before?"

Speedbird 206 (coolly): "Yes, in 1944. But I didn't stop".

THE HUMIDITY IS GONE

DETERMINED TO GET JUST THE RIGHT PHOTO
Another beautiful early September day.  The humidity is finally gone.

GROANER'S CORNER:((
Some people grow old gracefully, while others fight and scratch the whole way. Andy's wife, refusing to give in to the looks of growing old, goes out and buys a new line of expensive cosmetics guaranteed to make her look years younger.  After a lengthy sitting before the mirror applying the "miracle" products, she asks her husband, "Darling, honestly, if you didn't know me, what age would you say I am"?  Looking over her carefully, Andy replied, "Judging from your skin, 20; your hair, 18; your eyes, 16 and your figure, 25."  "Oh, you flatterer!" she gushed.  Just as she was about to tell Andy his reward, he stops her by saying, "Whoa, hold on there sweetie! I haven't added them up yet!"

WE MET OUR NEW NEIGHBORS

IT'S APPLE SEASON AGAIN
My favorite time of year has begun and this morning's sunny cool breeze off the lake set the tone for another fine day.  And tomorrow it gets even finer when temps drop into the low 70's with little or no humidity.  High 60's next week have already put a contented smile on my face.

IMMERSED IN A CORNFIELD
CHICORY FLOWER
SUMMER'S CLOVER IS AT AN END BUT I DID MANAGE TO FIND THIS LITTLE FLOWER BLOOM

GOLDENROD IS ALWAYS A SURE SIGN WE ARE ON AUTUMN'S DOORSTEP
JEEP IN A CORNFIELD OUT THERE
Kelly's been dealing with a sore jaw since her dentist appointment this morning.  Several difficult cavities filled and with her current jaw problem complicating the fillings she's been on pain pills all afternoon.

Nothing special or out of the ordinary on our Jeep ride this morning and that was okay.  It's just nice being out with my best Pal Pheebs cruising around through our beautiful late summer countryside.

A FAVORITE APPLE ORCHARD

VEGETATION IS STILL LUSH ALONGSIDE COUNTRY ROADS
We have met our new neighbors and our worries about noisy people have been put to rest.  Sarah and Dennis (quiet people) have many of the same interests and values Kelly and I have.  Dennis a few years ago had been a solo boon docker for awhile out in the great American Southwest.  He first traveled in a Class C Sunseeker then a Roadtrek.  He loves Arizona so I'm sure we'll have some things in common to talk about:))

GROANER'S CORNER:((  Steven Spielberg was discussing his new project -- an action docudrama about famous composers starring top movie stars. Sylvester Stallone, Steven Seagal, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger being courted for the top roles.  Spielberg really hoped to have the box office "oomph" of these superstars, so he was prepared to allow them to select the composers they would portray, as long as they among the most famous.  "Well," started Stallone, "I've always admired Mozart. I would love to play him."  "Chopin has always been my favorite, and my image would improve if people saw me playing the piano," said Willis. "I'll play him."  "I've always been partial to Strauss and his waltzes," said Seagal. "I'd like to play him."  Spielberg was very pleased with these choices. "Sounds splendid." Then, looking at Schwarzenegger, he asked, "Who do you want to be, Arnold?"  Arnold replied, "I'll be Bach."
