AND OF COURSE YOU ALREADY KNOW I MUCH PREFER THE SECOND OPTION

It was a bright sunny blue sky morning but with an icy northwind dropping the 32F temps into the low 20's it was cold, cold, cold.  Pheebs and I took ourselves for a drive southeast of Varna Ontario to Kerr's Campground for a walkaround.  Too early in the season for the campground to be open but I could see they are expanding their RV hook-up sites.  This is a very nice scenic family-oriented country RV Park away from city noise, busy roads, and the general hubbub of urban life.  I'm guessing there are about 30 units there.  Kerr's Campground can be found at the southwest corner of Centennial Road and Bannockburn Line if you are in the area.  Entrance to the Park is off Bannockburn Line.  Pheebs and I were home shortly after ten.

BESIDES EXPANDING THE SERVICES I NOTICED A NUMBER OF NEW TREES PLANTED AS WELL

AND THIS NEW FENCE HAS REPLACED AN OLDER TUMBLE DOWN ONE
THEY HAVE SEVERAL NICE FRESHWATER PONDS HERE AND THIS ONE IS AIREATED
THAT'S PHEEBS OUT THERE ON THE WALKING BRIDGE
THIS WATERFALL IS BETWEEN THE TWO PONDS
THIS ROAD LEADS TO THE RV AREA
With so much sunshine outside it was hard to remain inside but with so much cold air outside I had to keep going inside to warm myself up.  Had there been no icy north winds outside it would have been an enjoyable day.  I did manage to dig up and re-locate 3 different kinds of grass plants with one of them being Bamboo.  And Pheebs and I did trudge ourselves out for an afternoon walk.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT THESE DUCKS ARE ON THE CAMPGROUNDS POND
MUST SAY I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE AN ALL WHITE DUCK

I don't care for 'Game Shows' but Kelly likes watching Jeopardy.  My late Mother did too.  On Thursday nights Jeopardy there was a fellow on from my hometown of Tavistock Ontario.  His name is Scott Shewfelt.  Right beside my Mother's house is a Veterinary Clinic and the man who started that years ago I think was a fellow by the name of Shewfelt.  I wouldn't be surprised the guy on Jeopardy might have been a son or relative of Dr. Shewfelt.  When my Mother's house was sold back in 2004 it was the next door Veterinary Clinic that bought it and I think the Veterinary staff and trainees may live or stay there now.

THESE CANADA GEESE HAD JUST LIFTED OFF THE POND AS WE CAME ALONG

We became aware today of more housing developments going on in our area.  Tiny Homes For Big Thinkers is already in the works for the recently sold and existing Princess Huron Park along the shores of Lake Huron between Bayfield and Goderich.  And closer to Bayfield a new 300 unit development is already underway overlooking the lake across from the Bluewater Golf Course And Campground called Bluewater Shores.  Our quiet little gem of an area here along the shores of Lake Huron is certainly undergoing some major changes with both Grand Bend and Goderich ramping up significant housing developments as well.  People are flocking to the area.  We have been here for over 18 years now and I think we have been really fortunate to have experienced this area's quiet peacefulness for as long as we have.  However, I guess change is inevitable and we either adapt with that change or pull up stakes and move further out into the serene countryside away from the coming hustle and bustle.  And of course, you already know I much prefer the second option..............

I COULD SEE RIGHT AWAY THERE WAS A BIG PROBLEM IN GRAND BEND ONTARIO THIS MORNING

 PALS
Clicking on the Grand Bend Yacht Club's harbor cam at first light this morning I could see right away that they had themselves a big problem happening there at the river mouth.  For a small community on the shores of Lake Huron, this was very serious.

 DID YA SEE BERNIE??
Despite weather predictions of a possible nasty winter-like day I was surprised to see no snow on the ground and a clear sky sunrise.  However, it didn't take long for that to change.  It was my turn to drive this morning so I picked Richard up at 9 a.m. and we headed off down highway 21 to Grand Bend Ontario to have a look at their current harbor problem.  With a few lite snow flurries in the Bend we slowly cruised around looking at this and that.  Rolled out into the countryside in a wide country arc before heading north for home.  Winds picked up and brought blowing snow in off the lake.  Fairly heavy at times but not a threat and we were able to hang onto our visibility okay.  All and all, another nice morning sipping coffee, eating a Tim Horton's 'fruit explosion' muffin, and chatting ourselves up a storm.

ONE OF ONLY A FEW PATCHES OF BLUE SKY WE SAW
HAVING JUST DROPPED RICHARD OFF I AM HEADING HOME
I was home again about 11:30.  Too cold to do anything outside so it was an inside afternoon.  By the weekend we will be slipping back into more acceptable Spring-like weather.
OUR PARK ENTRANCE IS LOOKING QUITE EASTERY
Thanks to everyone for all the best wishes on Kelly's birthday a few days ago.  Much appreciated here at the Bayfield Bunch:))
A FEW PICS AROUND OUR FRONT YARD THIS AFTERNOON
GROANER'S CORNER:(( Overheard on an American Airlines flight into Amarillo, Texas, on a particularly windy and bumpy day:  During the final approach, the Captain was really having to fight it. After an extremely hard landing, the Flight Attendant said, "Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Amarillo. Please remain in your seats with your seat belts fastened while the Captain taxis what's left of our airplane to the gate.
- And from the pilot during his welcome message: "Delta airlines is pleased to have some of the best flight attendants in the
industry. Unfortunately, none of them are on this flight!"
"Your seat cushions can be used for flotation, and, in the event of an emergency water landing, please paddle to shore and take them with you with our compliments."
"Weather at our destination is 50 degrees with some broken clouds, but we'll try to have them fixed before we arrive. Thank you, and remember, nobody loves you, or your money, more than Southwest Airlines."

AND FOR THAT QUESTION I HAVE NO ANSWER

CANADA GOOSE ON OUR PARK'S POND
I must admit it's quite a challenge each day trying to think of something remotely interesting to blog about when interesting things are not necessarily taking center stage these days.  And yet, I feel compelled to daily write something.  I'm not exactly sure why that is but I just know that it is.  Some people may enjoy collecting stamps, others might like carving wooden ducks, while countless others find enjoyment in painting and countless other hobby-like activities.  I'm fortunate that I stumbled across the blogging era when I did back in 2006.  Blogging was the magic ingredient added to my interest in photography and traveling that cemented everything together and made this great pastime available to me.  I often wonder, if it wasn't for blogging, just what would I be doing with myself these days at this later stage of my life.  And for that question, I have no answer.

GREEN IS DEFINITELY THE COLOR OF SPRING

We were lucky to have sunny blue skies again today.  A drive to Goderich and back netted a few groceries for Pheebs and I as well as a cruise down around the harbor.  They are really making progress on the new boardwalk along the shoreline.

I THINK THEY ARE BEGINNING TO COME DOWN THE HOMESTRETCH IN COMPLETING THE BOARDWALK

Home again I busied myself cleaning up the Jeep.  A bucket of sudsy water, a soft cleaning brush, and copious amounts of cold water again turned it from a menacing mud buggy into a shiny clean Jeep.  Between muddy boots and paws and a whole lot of doggy fur, and spilled coffee, we sure can make a mess of the interior as well so I tackled that too.

PHEEBS AND I CAME ACROSS THESE COLTSFOOT FLOWERS ON OUR AFTERNOON WALK

With overnight temps expected to drop about 20 degrees, it is very likely we could wake up to snow on the ground Thursday morning.  Oh well, it's to be expected this time of year in our little corner of the world.  And just think, it's the last day of March already.  Who would have ever thought we all would have made it this far eh:))

GROANER'S CORNER:((  After a long, dry sermon, the minister announced that he wished to meet with the church board after the service. The first man to arrive was a stranger.  You misunderstood my announcement. This is a meeting of the board, said the minister.  I know, said the man.  If there is anyone here more bored than I am, I'd like to meet him.

ALTHOUGH IT WAS A NICE MORNING I SHORTENED UP OUR JEEP RIDE

Kelly had a nice bright sunny warm day for her Birthday and with Pheebs and I trying extra hard to behave ourselves she had a nice day.  We didn't do anything special like going out for supper or anything but I made sure I did the morning dishes.  And to top it off, Pheebs and I surprised her with a Google Nest Audio device.  The more one reads about everything this audio device can do, the more amazing it gets.  Thanks to my good buddy Jim at Lifetime Sentences for planting the 'Google Audio' idea in my head a week ago:))

 BREAKFAST DOWN ON THE FARM
 'HELLO IS ANYBODY IN THERE'

I THINK THESE DUCKS ARE CALLED BUFFLEHEADS
IF THE WATER GETS ANY HIGHER THAT BRIDGE IS GOING TO NEED A SET OF OARS
Although it was a nice morning I shortened up our Jeep ride because I had a few things I needed to do today.  With rainy weather coming in tonight I wanted to get all my piles of pine needles picked up and transported to the Park's landfill site.   And that ended up being two full utility trailer loads.  That's a lot of raking and pitchforking but I got er done.  I was pretty much done myself after that and my sunroom recliner felt mighty good when I finally got there about mid-afternoon.

I CERTAINLY GOT MY UPPER BODY EXERCISE TODAY
GROANER'S CORNER:(( A husband and wife are sitting on the couch watching TV. The wife looks at the husband and he is staring at the ceiling above her head, she looks up and asks, "What are you staring at?"  "A spider," he replies.  "I don't see anything," she says.  "Oh, it must have fallen on your head," he said calmly.  The wife jumps up screaming...The man says, "While you're up, can you get me another beer?"

Patient 1: 'Why did you run away from the operation table?'

Patient 2: 'The nurse was repeatedly saying 'don't get nervous', 'don't be afraid', 'be strong', 'its only a small operation', things like that.'

Patient 1: 'So what was wrong in that? Why were you so afraid?'

Patient 2: 'She was talking to the surgeon!'

"Don't swallow these pills," the doctor said, handing the overweight patient a bottle of pills. "Instead, spill them on the floor three times a day and pick them up one by one."
