LET YOUR MIND WANDER TO WHEREVER YOU WISH IT TO TAKE YOU

WINDS HAVE MOVED THE ICEPACK AROUND AND A LARGE PATCH OF OPEN WATER  IS VISIBLE
Thinking I would be shoveling loads of snow this morning I was pleasantly surprised to see only about a quarter of an inch of new snowfall on the ground.  So, with blue skies and sunshine leading the way I headed off in the direction of Bayfield.  Even stopped for a rare Tim Hortons coffee to go before heading out of town to take in a couple country roads.

Right up until August last year our 'getting up in the morning' time had been anywhere from 5:30 to 6:30 a.m.  When Kelly was at her Mom's in Spencerport for nearly three months I got into the habit of getting up later.  When she finally returned home she slipped into the same habit as well.  It's actually a better habit we have now because it seems to shorten up these long dreary winter days.
 HEADING OUT INTO THE COUNTRYSIDE
A while back I stumbled upon a young Norwegian musician by the name of Peder B. Helland.  He composes the most beautiful music.  Something we all can surely use these days.  Not only does he arrange the music but he films nature videos to go with his compositions.  Turn your volume up a tad, maximize your screen, dim the lights, sit back, relax, and let your mind wander to wherever you wish it to take you....... Morning Whispers

GROANER'S CORNER:((  A kindergarten student was having trouble putting on his boots and asked his teacher for help. Even with her pulling and him pushing, the boots still didn't want to go on. Finally, they got both boots on. She grimaced when the little boy said, "They're on the wrong feet."  Sure enough, they were. The teacher kept her cool as together they worked to get the boots back on - this time on the correct feet. The little boy then announced, "These aren't my boots." The teacher sighed and pulled the boots off.  The boy then said, "They're my brother's boots. My Mom made me wear them."  The teacher felt like crying, but she mustered up the strength to wrestle the boots back onto his feet. "Now," she said, "where are your mittens?"  The boy replied, "I stuffed them in my boots...."

LOOKS LIKE IT'S GOING TO BE SHOVEL TIME IN THE MORNING

With cold grey skies dominating the morning it was quite a tussle I had trying to shove myself out the door.  But, shove I did and quite reluctantly made the crunchy-snow walk to the stonecold Jeep.  Needless to say, I didn't go far or stay out too long.  A couple country blocks and that was it.  Snapped a few pics for the blog and I was soon home again.  Every time I return now Pheebs is right at the door and so excited to see me with her wagging tail nearly flying right off.

SNOWBOATS

After re-stocking the bird feeders and re-setting our outside night-lights timer I headed into the nice warm house.  With days getting longer now I had to switch the timer from a month ago 'lights-on' at 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. now.  Another sure sign we are steadily heading in the welcome direction of Spring.

THIS GAL DOESN'T NEED A HORSE BLANKET BECAUSE HER WARM AND TOASTY BLANKET IS HOMEGROWN
Finished my 'Legacy From The Stars' book a few days ago and am well into my next read, 'The Convoluted Universe Book Two'.  My kindle reader doesn't go by page numbers but by time.  This book starts off as a twenty-six-hour read.  It's no wonder my eyes dry out and I doze off so often in the afternoons.

Snowing heavily at the time of posting this tonight so it looks like it will be shovel time in the morning.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( I had the toughest time of my life. First, I got angina pectoris and then arteriosclerosis. Just as I was recovering from these, I got tuberculosis, double pneumonia, and phthisis.  Then they gave me hypodermic.  Appendicitis was followed by tonsillectomy. These gave way to aphasia and hypertrophic cirrhosis. I completely lost my memory for a while. I know I had diabetes and acute ingestion, besides gastritis, rheumatism, lumbago, and neuritis...I don't know how I pulled through it. It was the hardest spelling test I've ever had.

SAME CONSISTENCY AS A COUPLE WET NOODLES

BAYFIELD'S VIRTUAL HIGH SCHOOL ON MAIN STREET
'Sunshine'....need I say more.  Well yes, I do need to say more.  Maybe not much more but at least some more.

HOW UPLIFTING TO SEE MORNING'S SUNSHINE TOSSING SHADOWS ACROSS THE ROAD
GOOD THING THIS FELLOW HAS ON HS SNOW TIRES
THERE WAS NOT A TRACE OF OPEN LAKE WATER TO BE SEEN THIS MORNING
AFTER LAST YEAR'S PARTIAL SINKING THERE ARE NO FISHING BOATS WINTERING HERE THIS YEAR
STACKED PICNIC TABLES AWAIT THIS SUMMER'S SAIL BOATERS
THE LAKE ICE HAS STRETCHED OVER THE HORIZON
Almost out of birdseed I headed into Bayfield's Porters Hill Wild Bird Seed Company and picked up a couple more 20-pound bags of 'Premium Mix'.  A short drive around Bayfield for a few photos and I was on my way home again.  Just soooooo nice to see sunshine in the front yard with numerous little birds twitting about all over the place.

NICE TO SEE BAYFIELD'S SHOP BIKE COFFEE SHOP OPEN AGAIN AFTER A FEW WEEKS HOLIDAYS
JUST CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THIS MORNING'S BLUE SKY
 A TYPICAL OLDER BAYFIELD COTTAGE
A BIT OF FOG THIS MORNING??  NOPE, THAT'S THE JEEP'S EXHAUST DRIFTING BY ON A SLIGHT WESTERLY BREEZE
A LITTLE CABIN IN THE WOODS ALONG THE WAY
Hadn't shoveled my pathways Tuesday so I planted myself on the end of my snow shovel around noon and shuffled meself around the pathways for half an hour.  Only about an inch of the new-fallen white fluffy stuff to move so it was no big effort.  Despite the cold air, the exercise felt good for a change.  My legs this winter have about the same consistency as a couple wet noodles.

I THINK THESE TWO ARE HAVING A LITTLE STAND-OFF
 OH-OH REINFORCEMENTS
'YOU DON'T SCARE ME YA BIG BLUE CHICKEN'
'HIT THE ROAD YA LITTLE RED BUZZARD'
Scooter surprised me this afternoon by starting right up with just a short turn of the key.  Now if I could just get that darned GPS programmed for Arizona and plow my way out of the driveway....

GROANER'S CORNER:((
A man and a beautiful woman were having dinner in a fine restaurant. Their waitress (taking another order at a table a few paces away) suddenly noticed that the man was slowly sliding down his chair and under the table, but the woman acted unconcerned.  The waitress watched as the man slid all the way down his chair and out of sight under the table.  Still, the woman dining across from him appeared calm and unruffled, apparently unaware that her dining companion had disappeared.  After the waitress finished taking the order, she came over to the table and said to the woman, "Pardon me, ma'am, but I think your husband just slid under the table.  The woman calmly looked up at her and replied, "No he didn't. He just walked in the door."
