ROUNDED OUT THE DAY

A drizzly wet day but at least it wasn't freezing cold.  A drive down around Bayfield's harbor and a damp walk in the cemetery rounded out the day.

THE BOAT SLIPS ARE BEING TAKEN OUT OF THE RIVER TO BE STORED OVER WINTER
ONLY SEVEN OR EIGHT BOATS ARE LEFT IN THE WATER
WE HAVE PASSED OUR PEAK AUTUMN COLORS AND LEAVES ARE NOW FALLING

GROANER'S CORNER:((  My husband was building shelves in our bedroom and, intending to continue his work the next day, left some tools on my dresser, including a hammer, screwdriver, and chisel.  The following morning, while I was in front of the dresser combing my hair, my teenage daughter walked in.  “Hi, Mom,” she said, taking a look at the dresser. “Fixing your face?”

WITH A FEW NEW SLANTS ON THIS AND THAT THROWN IN FOR GOOD MEASURE

Couldn't have been a finer late Autumn October morning as I headed east about 8:05 for the picturesque little town of St. Marys Ontario.  I noticed right away the number of combines and farm wagons in many fields.  Our area's annual corn harvest is well underway and farmers are busy.

IT WAS A BUSY DAY FOR FARMERS IN OUR AREA

I picked up my good buddy Richard at about 9:15 a.m. and we soon had ourselves embedded in the Tim Horton coffee shop drive-thru line-up.  For the second time in a row, they goofed up our simple two small coffees with cream and two carrot muffins order.  Oh well, such is life.  Minutes later we were out of town following a scenic gravel road ambling alongside the Thames River as it made its way to the southwest where I figure it would eventually empty itself into Lake Erie.  We covered our usual number of miles and our usual number of great topics with a few new slants on this and that thrown in for good measure.  Before we knew it our two-and-a-half hours were up and we were back in St Marys.  Our travels had taken us through a few little whistle-stops called Rannoch, Motherwell, Anderson, and close to Kirkton Ontario.  It was shortly after noon when we agreed on another coffee tour sometime in November.  With that, I pointed Subie's nose for home.  It is just so nice to be out and about in the countryside on this mighty fine sunny Autumn day.  I think our temperature made it to over 70F again and I drove most of the way home with my passenger side window down.

THIS IS THE SCIENCE HILL COUNTRY CLUB (GOLF) AND YES, I HAVE ACTUALLY PLAYED GOLF HERE A FEW TIMES....PLAYED GOLF NOT THAT VERY WELL THAT IS

IT WAS A FINE DAY FOR A COUPLE OLD GUYS US TO WANDER THEIR WAY THROUGH THE COUNTRYSIDE
SOME FARMERS HAVE ALL THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY AND THIS FELLA EVEN HAS HIS OWN HIGH-TECH GAS PUMP
IT'S NOT ONLY THE ONE-FLOOR HOUSE I LIKE BUT IT'S THE COLORFUL ROOF TOO
NOW THAT IS QUITE A RURAL TREEHOUSE
THIS BUILDING REMINDED ME OF SOMETHING TO BE FOUND IN AN OLD  WESTERN TOWN
NOT ALL FARMERS WERE HARVESTING CORN TODAY
And I was very pleased to read this today....  Nasa's New UFO Team Will Study Sightings To Better Understand Them  I am already looking forward with great interest to Nasa's findings which will be released in mid-2023.

HEADING HOME TODAY I ENCOUNTERED A LOT OF FARM MACHINERY ON THE ROAD

THOSE WAGONS ARE RIGHT FULL UP WITH CORN
THIS COMBINE IS PROBABLY IN TRANSITION FROM HARVESTING BEANS TO HARVESTING CORN NEXT
Ellen's Groove:)) Here's Ellen working on the bass track for Smoke On The Water by the Moody Blues.  And it is interesting to see how she does this by following the moving notes on a monitor while sitting on the floor beside her dog, Neo.

MY SON SEAN CAME TO SEE ME TODAY:))

With our beautiful Autumn weather still holding, Pheebs and I were back in Goderich this morning to pick up another one of my Walmart Pharmacy prescriptions.  It doesn't seem that long ago when I didn't need a prescription for anything.  Prescriptions were for older folks in poor health, right?.  Wait-What!!

LAKE HURON LAKE LEVELS ARE DOWN FROM A COUPLE YEARS AGO
LOTS OF FOLKS ON GODERICH'S BOARDWALK TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE FABULOUS AUTUMN WEATHER....WE GOT UP TO OVER 70F TODAY

HEADING HOME ON PORTER'S HILL LINE
The highlight of my day was my son coming to see me.  And he rode his red rocket motorcycle nearly 143 miles one way just to get here from the St. Catharines area near Niagara Falls.  It had been a couple years since I had last seen Sean.  Sitting on our front porch chatting this afternoon I thought to myself how proud I am of him for the exemplary human being he has become.  So creatively talented in the music industry.  More can be seen here about Sean....Kings On A Ledge  I also thought after he left that I wished I had grown up to be just like the fine young man he is.  (Update) Sean didn't make it home and here's the Facebook message he sent me....'Well, I didn’t make it home. There was a nut that fell off my kickstand, and when I went to shift gears, it jammed my gearshift lever and bent a bolt. I managed to get it to a bike shop here in Woodstock. They are going to fix it tomorrow morning, so I’m just gonna spend the night at a hotel'.

 KELLY SNAPS A FEW PICS
 SUITING UP TO HEAD HOME
Tuesday morning I will be on the road early heading for St. Marys to pick up my good buddy Richard, two small coffees with cream, and two carrot muffins.  We will slide out northwest of St. Marys and travel some good old memorable country roads that are familiar to both of us.

THERE IS SOMETHING ODD  (BESIDES ME) ABOUT SEAN'S SELFIE.....THE IMAGE IS REVERSED AS IF IT WAS TAKEN IN A MIRROR
GROANER'S CORNER:(( My cousin Jimmy was having a terrible time falling asleep unless he was lying on a pile of old magazines.  It turns out he had back issues.

Doctor, doctor, I keep thinking I'm a snail.
Don't worry, we'll soon have you out of your shell.

A Quebecer staying in a hotel in Edmonton phoned room service for some pepper.  “Black pepper, or white pepper?” asked the concierge.“Toilette pepper!” yelled the Quebecer.
