MY VERY MUCH MOST FAVORITIST TIME OF THE DAY

SATURDAY'S BIG WINDS STRIPPED MOST OF THE LEAVES OFF THE TREES
Pheebs and I hadn't been around our favorite route southeast of Bayfield for a while so thinking we might find some corn dumps out that way we headed off.  And, by golly, we did find one small corn spill which netted us a couple inches of corn in the bottom of our white corn bucket.  Although cooler temperatures were upon us it was a beautiful sunny Sunday morning to be out and about.
A LEAFY LANE WALK THIS MORNING

I SAW A NUMBER OF FIELDS PLANTED WITH WINTER WHEAT THIS MORNING
THESE APPLES REMIND ME OF RED DECORATIVE BALLS ON MOTHER NATURE'S CHRISTMAS TREE
I PICKED UP A FAIR BIT OF THAT CORN IN THE GRASS
AND THAT THERE IS MY OFFICIAL CORN DRYER UNDER THE DASH WITH THE JEEP'S HEATER GOING
It was while stopped to pick up the corn this morning that I noticed something odd in the back of the Jeep.  I had forgotten I had left a plastic bin full of corn cobs there.  And, seven or eight of those corn cobs had been stripped.  So, something has gotten into the Jeep and has been eating my corn cobs.  I suspect chipmunks or squirrels but how in the heck did they get into the Jeep??  I don't always lock it but I do keep the doors closed.  You don't suppose they sneaked into our house and grabbed the Jeep's spare keys off the rack do ya.  I wouldn't put it past those rascally squirrels!!  I have since transferred the corn cobs to one of our metal garbage cans with a tight lid.  I will now have to keep an eye on my crowbar in the shed to make sure they don't sneak in there, grab the crowbar, and pry the lid off the garbage can.  Gol darn them little critters!!

YOU CAN SEE HOW SOME CRAFTY LITTLE FURRY RASCALS HAVE STRIPPED SOME OF MY CORN COBS

I BET DOLLARS TO DONUTS THIS CORNFIELD WILL BE HARVESTED THIS COMING WEEK

I had a few Halloween cartoons gathered up to use in an October 3rst post but Halloween slid right past me this year so I will leave a few of those toons in Groaner's Corner tonight.  I also had a spooky music video that if watched is gonna kinda stick in your head and rattle around in your mind for a while.  Nothing bad of course, but sorta weird.  Check out this strange version of the song  Ghost Riders In The Sky. Watching it a time or two it has grown on me.  Especially those menacing ghostly cowboys.  The warning of light flashes at the beginning is nothing, just lightning in the video.

TREES HAVE NOW TAKEN ON THEIR BARREN WINTER LOOK
THAT IS ONE BIG WALL OF LARGE STRAW BALES
LOOKS LIKE THIS SUNDAY MORNING FARMER IS HEADING OUT TO DO SOME DISCING/DISKING

ROLLING UP TO OUR PARK'S ENTRANCE IT SURE DOESN'T LOOK AS COLORFUL AS IT DID A WEEK AGO
After thinking about it for a while I have come up with what I figure is my very much most favorite time of the day.  It begins at about 10 p.m. each night when I transition from our sunroom to our living room.  It is at this point that everything from the day has, and is, concluded.  All daily responsibilities are finished and in the past.  Everything during the day I set out to do, or had to do, is done.  And if it isn't done it doesn't matter until tomorrow or some other day or maybe next week, or maybe never.  This is the time at the end of the day when I ease myself into my big comfy leather recliner, turn off all the lights, turn the TV to my favorite music channel, (The Chill Lounge) and heave a big sigh of relief that I somehow made it through another day rather unscathed.  Because I sleep in my recliner, I will remain here in my safe, secure, and comfy cozy spot for the next ten hours or so before it is time to drag myself yet again up and out of my chair to face the travails of another day.

JUST MAKES ONE WANT TO GO AND BAKE THEMSELVES AN APPLE PIE EH:))
GROANER'S CORNER:((  In The Words of Rodney Dangerfield:: "Good crowd...good crowd. I'm telling you I could use a good crowd. I'm ok now but last week I was in rough shape... Why? I looked up my family tree and found out I was the sap."  "I come from a stupid family. During the Civil War my great Uncle fought for the west!" When I was born..the doctor came out to the waiting room and said to my father...I'm very sorry. We did everything we could...but he pulled through."  "My mother had morning sickness after I was born."  "My father carries around a picture of the kid who came with his wallet."  "When I played in the sandbox the cats kept covering me up."  "I could tell that my parents hated me. My bath toys were a toaster and a radio."  "What a dog I got. His favorite bone is in my arm!"  "Someone just called my phone, sneezed, and then hung up.  I’m getting sick and tired of these cold calls."

WE TOOK SCOOTER OUT FOR FISH&CHIPS THIS AFTERNOON

A FISH&CHIP STOP AT THE EAST END OF GODERICH'S NORTH SIDE HARBOR
Whoever heard of wearing short sleeve shirts in the month of November of all things!!  Well, here in our neck of the woods that is exactly what I have worn for two afternoons in a row.  I think we may have broken some more temperature records today.  We climbed to over 70F again.

WE STILL HAVE A BIT OF COLOR IN OUR FLOWER BEDS

Pheebs and I wandered into Bayfield this morning to check on the main street construction.  They are moving right along and I see they have already done some sodding and landscaping.

NICE TO FINALLY SEE SOME GREEN GRASS AMID ALL THE DOWNTOWN CONSTRUCTION
SHRUBS AND PLANTS ARE GOING IN
IT WON'T BE LONG BEFORE THEY WILL BE PAVING THE MAIN STREET

THE EAST SIDE OF THE STREET IS NOT AS FAR ADVANCED AS THE WEST SIDE

YOU WILL NOTICE IN SOME OF THESE PHOTOS HOW BARE OUR TREES ARE BECOMING
Scooter was due for a run so all three of us piled into our Winnebago Class C early this afternoon and headed to Goderich for fish&chips at the Goderich Harbor Restaurant on the north side of the harbor.  Some may remember we did the same thing back in the Spring.  Despite the high winds it was nice sitting in the rig at the east end of the harbor eating our curds and whey.....oh wait a minute, that should read eating our fish&chips.  Lots of places have fish&chips but we really like the way they do their haddock fish here.  It's done the old way with a crispy crunchy thick batter and in my opinion, it's the best around.  The chips were great too.

 ON OUR WAY TO GODERICH
NO PROBLEM FINDING A PARKING SPOT AT THE LITTLE FISH/&CHIP PLACE
WE HAD A NICE VIEW ACROSS THE HARBOR AND THE NAME OF THAT SHIP IS THE MIEDWIE

LOOKS LIKE A COUPLE GUYS FISHING
Wind warnings were out today and we had thought about not taking the rig but it didn't seem too bad.  That is until we left Goderich for our return trip and were buffeted by heavy head-on and crosswind gusts all the way home.  But it wasn't as bad as if we had been driving one of our Class A rigs.  Scooter handled the wind just fine and besides, for anyone who has battled the big winds out west out on the plains and in the mountain passes, these big winds around here seem more like mere summer breezes.

 PHEEBS PATIENTLY WATCHES FOR KELLY
AND HERE SHE COMES NOW WITH THE GOODIES
 PHEEBS IS ON THE RUN
 YAAAAAY, FISH&CHIPS:))))))
'DON'T FORGET TO TOSS A FEW SNACKS MY WAY MOM'
PHEEBS IS TOTALLY FOCUSED ON MY FISH&CHIPS
KELLY DIGS RIGHT IN WHILE PHEEBS WATCHES INTENTLY

I THINK THESE TWO FISHERMEN MAY BE A FATHER AND SON
THIS IS A 'TAKE-OUT' RESTAURANT ONLY
Home again I hauled out the garden hose and a big bucket of warm soapy water and washed all the undercoating stuff off the Subaru.  Kelly said it says on the Krown Rustproofing site that they will wash the car and clean the windows after it has been undercoated.   The Krown Rustproofing guy in Stratford Ontario did neither.  Kelly didn't waste any time getting on the phone with the Krown Rustproofing headquarters to let them know about their Stratford franchise.  I would never take a car there again and the only reason I did was that the Krown Rustproofing place in Goderich couldn't do it until December 15th.  Anyway, Subie's all cleaned up now and feeling much better.

Ellen's Groove:)) Another short little diddy from Ellen plucking a few strings in a guitar shop somewhere. Probably Las Vegas where she lives.

MY VERY MUCH MOST BESTEST PAL OF EVER
GROANER'S CORNER:(( Muldoon lived alone in the Irish countryside with only a pet dog for company. One day, the dog died, and Muldoon went to the parish priest and said, "Father, my dog is dead. Could ya' be sayin' a mass for the poor creature?" Father Patrick replied, "I'm afraid not. We cannot have services for an animal in the church. But there is a new denomination down the lane, and there's no tellin' what they believe. Maybe they'll do something for the creature."Muldoon said, "I'll go right away Father. Do ya' think $5,000 is enough to donate for the service?"Father Patrick exclaimed, "Sweet Mary, Mother of Jesus! Why didn't ya' tell me the dog was Catholic?"
