OUR USUAL FAST-PACED CONVERSATION MODE

Under sunny and slightly warm skies this morning my good buddy Richard picked me up about 9:20 and we headed straight away for Bayfield's Tim Hortons coffee shop for two coffees and two pumpkin spice muffins to go.  The next couple of hours were spent in our usual fast-paced conversation mode.  And, I must say, it was another couple of hours well spent.  And a nice drive around Bayfield and through the countryside too.  My afternoon once again found me busily outside raking up more pine needles and leaves and transporting two additional loads of them to our Park's yard waste area with our utility trailer.  By the time 3 p.m. rolled around my legs were barking their discomfort and I had to call it a day.  I wasn't long in slipping inside to reclinerize myself with a couple of Tylenol/Arthritis pills.  Friday I hope to drain our two outside garden hoses and turn the outside water off until next April sometime.  I think we might have hit 70F today.  And maybe tomorrow I will tell you about something stupidly careless I did today with some rather expensive Subaru touch-up paint:((
It was back in early October while coming home from our short stay in Collingwood Ontario that we stopped at a little place called Eugenia Falls.  While there to view the Falls I noticed a war memorial a short distance away.  I thought at the time this would make a fitting tribute to the memories of the war dead on November 11th.
GROANER'S CORNER:((
A professor of clinical psychology at Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand, included a lecture on crowd psychology in his annual course. To illustrate mass hysteria, he regularly showed TV news footage of teenage crowds greeting the Beatles at the local airport in the 1960′s.  One year, when he ran the footage, he heard squeals and bursts of laughter from his students. When the film ended he asked what had caused the hilarity.  Replied one student, “We recognized some of our mothers!”

JUST IN CASE

A SUNNY AFTERNOON FOR A WALK AROUND THE PARK'S POND
Despite scouring half a dozen country roads on this rather cold and sunny November morning, Pheebs and I returned home without any corn in our bucket.  Not one corn spill did we see.  Our afternoon was nice enough to be outside puttering around in the yard.  And, I decided to put the towing hitch back on the motorhome today just in case.  I had left it on the rig last winter as well.....just in case.  Of course, the 'case' never happened last winter but I figured I'd rather put the hitch on now in nice weather rather than trying to put it on in the freezing cold of winter.....just in case of course.

A NICE  SUNNY MORNING FOR A QUIET DRIVE THROUGH THE COUNTRYSIDE

EITHER A NEW WIND TURBINE OR MAINTENANCE ON AN OLD ONE
DID YOU SEE THE WORKER UP THERE?
GROANER'S CORNER:((  An aspiring Yogi wanted to find a Guru. He went to an Ashram and his preceptor told him, "You can stay here but we have one important rule: all students observe Mouna or a vow of silence. You will be allowed to speak in 12 years." After practicing for 12 long years, the day came when the student could say one thing or ask one question.  He said: "The bed is too hard."He kept going for another 12 years of austere discipline, meditation, and silence and finally got the opportunity to speak again. He said: "The food is not good."Twelve more years of hard work and he got to speak again. Here are his words after 36 years of practice: "I quit." His Guru quickly answered: "Good, all you have been doing since you got here is complaining anyway!!"

ONLY A FEW SPECKLES OF COLOR

I can see only two leaves left on the Rosebud tree outside our east-facing living room window.  All bush lines are now gray and bare with only a few speckles of color here and there.  Our nice Autumn weather will take a downward turn after Friday and I wouldn't be surprised if we had snow on the ground next week.  Our good friends Richard and Gayle dropped in this afternoon and that picked up my day.  Other than that I really can't think of much more to say so I will leave it at that and be on my way.

I MANAGED TO FIND A FEW LAST SPLASHES OF COLOR IN THE GREY BUSHLINES

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A man realized he needed to purchase a hearing aid, but didn't want to spend a lot of money. "How much do they cost?" he asked the salesman.  "Anything from $2 to $2,000."  "Can I see the $2 model?" said the customer.  The salesman put the device around the man's neck, and said: "You just stick this button in your ear and run this little string down into your pocket."  "How does it work?" asked the customer.  "For $2, it doesn't work," said the salesman. "But when people see it on you, they'll talk louder."

I'M ON BOOK TWO OF MY 'ANNE OF GREEN GABLES' SERIES

GODERICH'S OUTER BREAK WALL AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE HARBOR
A nice sunny bright November morning but we had a cold wind in the air.  No matter, Pheebs and I headed to Goderich with her window down and the Jeep's heater on.  A coffee to go at McD's and down to the harbor we went. Followed that with a stop at Walmart for some stuff and then headed home.

I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE THIS CHARGING STATION NEAR THE PLAYGROUND OUT AT ROTARY COVE
Sunday night was the last episode of the season for 'The Secret Of Skinwalker Ranch'.  This is the only TV show I look forward to watching so now I have to wait until next September to find out what the crew at Skinwalker Ranch encounters through the summer of 2023.  Needless to say, I am always disappointed when they air the final episode each year:((  And I am still not watching any of the news channels.  I can no longer bear to watch our good neighbor and our once-happy second home south of the border literally tearing itself apart worse than ever right now.

THE ALGOMA CONVEYER  AT LEFT AND THE MIEDWIE AT RIGHT ARE IN CLOSE PROXIMITY STERN TO STERN HERE WITH THE CONVEYER AT THE SALT DOCK AND THE MIEDWIE AT THE GRAIN ELEVATORS
THE MIEDWIE IS AN OCEAN-GOING VESSEL

THE HARBOR TUG OCEAN A SIMARD PLYS THE HARBOR WATERS
THE SIMARD STIRS UP A FLOCK OF CANADA GEESE (THE SIMARD IS BLUE, NOT PURPLE)
AND FROM WAY ACROSS THE HARBOR, THIS IS THE LITTLE TAKE-OUT RESTAURANT WE HAD FISH&CHIPS AT LAST SATURDAY
OH AND HERE IS A PICTURE I FORGOT TO INCLUDE IN MY SATURDAY POST.....IT'S MY FISH&CHIPS.....HEY, DID I DO GOOD  WITH MY FOODY PICTURE GEORGE:))
Took one utility trailer load of leaves and pine needles to the Park's recycling area and that was about it for my day as far as being outside.  Inside, I tipped back in my sunroom recliner to do some reading and promptly fell asleep.  I kinda like when that happens in the afternoon.  I really enjoy those little naps and especially so when outside it's cold and inside it is so warm and cozy.  Oh dear, here's a man using that 'cozy' word again.

EVERY TIME I SAY THIS IS THE LAST UTILITY TRAILER LOAD TO THE RECYCLING AREA FOR THE YEAR....IT ISN'T
THE VIEW FROM MY RECLINER THIS AFTERNOON
AND OF COURSE, THIS IS THE VIEW BESIDE MY RECLINER AS PHEEBS WARMLY SNOOZES IN FRONT OF THE FIREPLACE.....IT'S HER FAVORITE SPOT:))
I finished my Anne Of Green Gables book today and I am so glad I downloaded the whole box set because I have now moved on to the second book in the series, Anne Of Avonlea.  I am enjoying these books so immensely.  I had no interest in these kinds of books before and I am so grateful the idea of reading Anne of Green Gables popped into my head following my reading of The Wind In The Willows by Kenneth Grahame.  And where did I get the idea to read Wind In The Willows??  Read my post from last week entitled, My Cousin Larry And Toad Hall:))

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A French man nearly got away with stealing a number of paintings from the Louvre.  However, after planning the robbery and getting in and out and past security, he was captured only three blocks away when his Econoline ran out of gas. When asked how he could mastermind such a crime and then make such an obvious error, he replied, “I had no Monet to buy Degas to make the Van Gogh.”
