A VERY LAZY AFTERNOON FOR THE BUNCH TODAY

THIS PHOTO SUMS UP OUR DAY

If I thought Monday was a yukky weather day I hadn't met Tuesday yet.  There were more snow and ice pellets in the air today but it only accumulated in a few spots.  Temps hovered around the freezing mark all day.  Kelly had some books to be returned to the Bayfield Library so Pheebs and I had a mission.  We headed into Bayfield and were back home within half an hour.  Mission accomplished.

WORK IS STILL ONGOING ALONG BAYFIELD'S MAIN STREET
It turned out to be a very lazy day for the Bunch with Kelly not feeling well this afternoon. We'll be on the road again early tomorrow morning and the two days after tomorrow as well.  At least our weather is set to improve beginning overnight.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A tourist climbed out of his car in downtown Washington, D.C. He said to a man standing near the curb, "Listen, I'm going to be only a couple of minutes. Would you watch my car while I run into this store?"  "What?" the man huffed. "Do you realize that I am a member of the United States Senate?"  "Well no," the tourist said, "I didn't realize that. But it's all right. I'll trust you anyway."

Because they were too heavy to carry off to the British Museum.
- I was offered a job building Egyptian tombs
Turned out to be a pyramid scheme
-I'm surprised the Tower of Pisa hasn't fallen over during the pandemic without all those tourists helping hold it up.

IN A COLD WINDY RAIN AND A FEW SLUSHY SNOWFLAKES WE WERE ON THE MOVE AGAIN TODAY

A GLOOMY WEATHER DRIVE TO LONDON AND BACK
With temps in the mid-thirties Fahrenheit this morning contrasting with the high seventies a couple days ago it was quite a rude weather change this morning I thought as I headed to my morning medical appointment about my painful upper leg.  My appointment was at 9:30 and here's the scoop.  My medical records stated that I had been in with the same problem in 2017 and at that time the X-rays showed I had moderate arthritis in my right hip joint.  I have no recollection of that appointment.  My Nurse Practioner checked my hip area and suspects the moderate arthritis has progressed to a more severe form of arthritis.  She is booking me in for more X-rays.  She also suggested physiotherapy which I agreed with and that might start in about a month or so in the town of Exeter southeast of Bayfield.  She also talked about a hip replacement at some point and said the waiting time right now for that procedure is about a year to a year and a half.  In the meantime, she suggested I start on a daily Tylenol Xtra strength regimen and if that isn't cutting it she will prescribe something else.  She also recommended Glucosamine and possibly a cortisone injection if necessary.  She said above all else, keep the hip moving.  Keep walking, even if I have to hobble along slowly.

HMMMM, IT LOOKS LIKE I AM NOT ALONE IN THE INNER WAITING ROOM
HERE I AM KEEPING A CLOSE EYE ON THE BONY GUY IN THE CORNER
I was back home from my medical appointment about 10:45.  Half an hour later it was all three of us in the Subaru again heading to London's Victoria Hospital in a cold wind-driven rain interspersed with slushy snowflakes and bits of sleet.  Not a  nice weather day.  Rained all the way to London, all the time we were there, and pretty well all the way home.  We mashed our way south through London's congestive traffic and dropped Kelly off at the hospital at 12:35 for her 1 p.m. appointment.  With that, Pheebs and I breezed through a nearby McDonalds for a coffee to go and then headed straightway to our oasis of tranquility at the old Veterans Hospital site.  Because of the cold wind and rain Pheebs and I were unable to get a walk in and spent most of our waiting time in the car.  Me reading, Pheebs snoozing.  It was about 2:45 when my flip-phone rang with Kelly on the other end saying to come and pick her up.  So, that's what we did and by 3 p.m. the Bayfield Bunch was well on their way thankfully out of London.  A quick stop at Lucan's Tim Hortons for a couple of sandwiches to go and we were back on the road and home shortly after 4 p.m.

Tuesday we are off but Wednesday we will be on the run again with two medical appointments back to back in two different hospitals.  Pheebs and I look at these days as 'road trips' but poor Kelly has nothing to look forward to but more 'ouchies' in her arms.  She described one of the bigger steel needles they used today and the thought of it made my knees weak.  She is a much stronger person than I am..........

GROANER'S CORNER:((  Joe passed away. His will provided $30,000 for an elaborate funeral.  As the last guests departed the affair, his wife, Helen, turned to her oldest friend.  "Well, I'm sure Joe would be pleased," she said.  "I'm sure you're right," replied Jody, who lowered her voice and leaned in close.  "How much did this really cost?"  "All of it," said Helen. "Thirty thousand."  "No!" Jody exclaimed. "I mean, it was very nice, but $30,000?"  Helen answered. "The funeral was $6,500. I donated $500 to the church. The wake, food and drinks were another $500. The rest went for the memorial stone."  Jody computed quickly. "$22,500 for a memorial stone? My God, how big is it?!"  "Two and a half carats."

WE BURGERED OURSELVES AT WENDY'S TODAY

ALONG THE NORTH END OF BAYFIELD'S MAIN STREET
This absolutely beautiful sunny Sunday morning would have been perfect for a walk but alas, my leg wouldn't let me do it.  And that is all I have to say about that for now:((  A nice drive into and around Bayfield for Pheebs and I before heading back home about half an hour after we left.

SPRING IS BUSTING OUT ALL OVER
After choosing one of two pairs of Merrell shoes Kelly and I decided to head off to Goderich this afternoon to take the other pair back to Wuerth Shoes  Pheebs stayed home to mind the Fort.  We took a swing down around the beach area before heading off to Wendy's with some coupons.  Burgs, fries, two frosties, one coke, and a glass of water.  While there we saw about 25 Chevy Corvettes go by and figured it must have been a Corvette club out for a Sunday tour on this fine Spring day.  We were home again shortly after 2 p.m.  By mid-afternoon skies clouded over, and the temperature began to drop as we had a weather front coming in which will terminate this nice summer-like weather we have been having.  By morning we may all be pulling on our woolies again with snow forecast for some parts of Ontario.  Rain started here at 5:35 this afternoon and at the time of posting this tonight, it is really belching down.  We just have to remember that it is the April showers that bring the May flowers:))

GROANER'S CORNER:(( St. Peter and Satan were having an argument one day about baseball. Satan proposed a game to be played on neutral grounds between a select team from the heavenly host and his own hand-picked boys.  "Very well," said the gatekeeper of Heaven. "But you realize, I hope, that we've got all the good players and the best coaches."  "I know, and that's all right,"Satan answered unperturbed. "We've got all the umpires."
