LONDON'S VICTORIA HOSPITAL TODAY......AND I SHOUTED TO HIM THAT 'I JUST SAW A SHARK FIN IN THE WATER'

I LIKE THE SWIRLS AND PATTERNS IN THE FIELD
For some unknown reason again, I woke up in a bit of a frump this morning. (combination of a grump and a frazzle) I had to tussle with myself to keep my sights set on keeping myself positive.  A walk at our country road spot and home again for Pheebs and I.

SHEEP BUTTS HEADING FOR A NEARBY PINE FOREST
IT WASN'T LONG BEFORE THEY ALL DISAPPEARED FROM VIEW
A NEIGHBOR'S FARM EAST OF OUR PARK
At 12:21 we were all in the Subaru and headed for London.  Aside from a short delay at the Adelaide Steet Underpass construction site Pheebs and I had Kelly at VictorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrThis is what happens when you doze off at the keyboard with your finger on the r key.  It was actually much longer than this but I shortened it up just to give you an idea of my folly:((  So anyway, what I was saying is that we dropped Kelly off at Victoria Hospital in good time.  Minutes later we were in the Westminster Ponds Area.  If you click this link and look at the photo you will notice a white car at the bottom left.  Not our Subaru of course but that is the exact spot Pheebs and I have parked the last couple of times we have been here.  I had planned on walking across the two baseball diamonds and picking up a trail on the other side today but it was not to be.  There was a baseball tournament or something going on and I knew if Pheebs and I tried to walk around the ball diamonds she would for sure get herself right into the game.  Pheebs would be running up to the players to see if they had any snacks for her.  Instead, we meandered off the other way through an area we have walked around a couple times before.  To put in more time, we walked slower.

THIS IS GETTING TO BE A FAMILIAR ROUTINE FOR US
PHEEBS AND I HAVE WALKED THROUGH THIS 'OLD FOUNDATIONS'  AREA A FEW TIMES BEFORE
MY FIRST LILAC SIGHTING OF 2023
APPLE BLOSSOMS
WE VENTURED DOWN THIS SIDE TRAIL BUT IT DEAD-ENDED
BEING LEERY OF MY HIP I DIDN'T VENTURE DOWN THIS STEEP EMBANKMENT TO THE WATER'S EDGE
SAW THIS PAIR OF SANDALS ON THE SHORE OF WALKER'S POND
NOT FAR AWAY I SPOTTED SANDAL'S OWNER SO I SHOUTED OUT TO HIM THAT I JUST SAW A SHARK FIN IN THE WATER
HERE HE IS LOOKING FOR THE SHARK:))
ACTUALLY, IT WAS TWO BOYS IN FOR A SATURDAY SWIM....AND ALMOST PHEEBS TOO
THE BOYS SAID THEIR DADS WERE ON THE FAR SIDE OF THE POND FISHING IN A CANOE
ALTHOUGH I COULD HARDLY SEE THE CANOE, MY NIKON COOLPIX P900 FOUND IT AT A TELEPHOTO RANGE OF 700MM
It wasn't as hot today as the last time we were here and that was quite alright with me.  I actually welcomed a temporary cloud cover.  We walked around for about forty minutes before heading back to the car which luckily we had parked at the same spot as a couple days ago under a flowering Crab Apple tree.

PHEEBS AND I RELAXING IN THE SUBARU
SAME SPOT WE HAD A FEW DAYS AGO

I'VE GOT TO REMEMBER TO PUT A LAWN CHAIR IN THE CAR FOR NEXT TIME
Kelly's Plasmapheresis treatment took longer than usual today so Pheebs and I spent a fair bit of time reading and relaxing in the car.  But, at last my cell phone rang and it was time to head over to the hospital and pick up Kelly.  With all three of us in the car again we soon headed north out of London with a quick stop at Tim Hortons for a couple coffees to go.  Because it was Saturday the traffic was light and it was a nice quiet country drive all the way home.

 WATCHING FOR 'MOM'
 AND, HERE SHE IS:)))))
SPOTTED THIS GROOVY-LOOKING VEHICLE ON OUR WAY HOME THIS AFTERNOON
Sunday morning we will be heading to Kitchener for a Mother's Day get-together with a few members of Kelly's family at the Deer Ridge Golf Club.  Monday we have off, Exeter on Tuesday, and then back to London Wednesday.

IT WAS A BUSY DAY FOR AREA FARMERS OUT AND ABOUT ON THEIR LAND
NOT ALL FARM MACHINERY IS BIG AND SCARY
AFTER WORKING THEIR DUSTY FIELDS TODAY ALL THESE FELLAS WILL PROBABLY BE IN THE TUB FOR THEIR SATURDAY NIGHT BATHS LATER

GROANER'S CORNER:(( Muldoon lived alone in the Irish countryside with only a pet dog for company. One day, the dog died, and Muldoon went to the parish priest and said, "Father, my dog is dead. Could ya' be sayin' a mass for the poor creature?" Father Patrick replied, "I'm afraid not. We cannot have services for an animal in the church. But there is a new denomination down the lane, and there's no tellin' what they believe. Maybe they'll do something for the creature."Muldoon said, "I'll go right away Father. Do ya' think $5,000 is enough to donate for the service?"Father Patrick exclaimed, "Sweet Mary, Mother of Jesus! Why didn't ya' tell me the dog was Catholic?"

My home church welcomes all denominations but really prefers tens and twenties.

MY HIP X-RAY RESULTS ARE IN....'OH-OH'

A thin cloud cover today but that's okay.  At least it wasn't snowing and blowing.  A Jeep drive into Bayfield for Pheebs and I followed by a country road jaunt with a wee walk thrown in at the Linwood Conservation area on Pavillion Road.

BAYFIELD'S SOUTH PIER FISHERMAN CAST THEIR LINES IN CALM LAKE WATERS THIS MORNING
A FEW SAILBOATS ARE BEGINNING TO SHOW UP AT THEIR MOORING SLIPS
OF COURSE, SOME BOATERS DON'T HAVE THE BIG DOLLARS THEIR NEIGHBORS HAVE
THIS BOAT IS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING PUT INTO THE WATER
CONSTRUCTION ALONG BAYFIELD'S MAIN STREET WILL SOON BE DONE
Home again I can't really remember what I did so it couldn't have been too important.  Our good friend and neighbor Bruce had read my post about an awning problem on our Winnebago so he dropped by to have a look at it.  Bruce is one of those handy fellas and it didn't take him long to figure out a way to fix the problem.  We'll do that probably sometime next week when we are able to coordinate a time around our busy schedule.

TIS THE SEASON FOR TULIPS

All three of us in the Subaru by 1:20 this afternoon heading for Exeter Ontario where Kelly had a dental appointment at 2 p.m.  We were there in good time and dropped her off.  Pheebs and I then headed a couple blocks away to a nearby Park/Conservation area to see what we could scare up in the way of a few photos.

PHEEBS TURNS AROUND ON THIS PATH THROUGH A BUNCH OF SMALL FERNS
THERE IS AN ABUNDANCE OF GREENERY IN THIS AREA
THESE TWO BLEW BY PHEEBS AND I ABOUT 85 MPH
Not knowing how long Kelly would be, Pheebs and I were careful not to get too far down the Conservation trail in case she called.  We reached a point about a quarter mile along and then turned around heading back to the car.  Minutes later Kelly phoned saying she was ready to go so Pheebs and I had to pick up some speed.  We picked Kelly up about ten minutes later.  She said the Dentist was able to fix her broken tooth and she was happy about that.  For the first time in several months, she was looking forward to being able to eat normally again.  Kelly will be back to that same Dentist Clinic next Tuesday for a pre-scheduled teeth cleaning. We were home this afternoon about 3 o'clock.  In the morning we are off to London again.

IT WAS HERE WHERE WE TURNED AROUND AND HEADED BACK TO THE CAR
'WHAT THE HECK'.....MY SIDEBURNS MUST HAVE FALLEN OFF AGAIN
YES INDEED, THIS IS A NICE TRAIL
 ALMOST BACK
IT ALWAYS FEELS GOOD TO GET BACK TO A VEHICLE AND SIT DOWN IN NICE SOFT COMFORTABLE SEATS
WE SCOOPED KELLY UP AT THE DENTAL CLINIC
HEADING HOME ON A DRY DUSTY AFTERNOON
While Pheebs and I had been out earlier this morning, my Nurse Practitioner's office phoned with the results of my recent hip X-ray.  Kelly took the call and the lady said the X-rays showed severe degenerative arthritis in my right hip.  Not bone on bone yet but almost she said.  I am now officially being placed on a 'hip replacement' list.  Don't know when it will be done but the wait list is long and it wouldn't surprise me if it could be a year or more.  It's just the way it is here in Canada.....................

 RIVERBANK REFLECTIONS
GROANER'S CORNER:(( An old Indian lined up all of his 10 little Indian sons and stood in front of them.  He then asked, "Who push port-a-potty over cliff?"  Nobody answered him.  He then asked again, "Who push port-a-potty over cliff?"  Again nobody answered.  The old Indian said, "I tell story of Georgie and Georgie father. Georgie chop down cherry tree. Georgie tell truth, Big Georgie no punish." So the Indian asked again,  "Who push port-a-potty over cliff?"  To which the littlest Indian replied, "I push port-a-potty over cliff."  The old Indian then shakes and spanks him, for his punishment. When he is done, the little Indian asks, "Georgie tell truth, Georgie no get punish. I tell truth, I get punished. Why you punish, father?"  The old Indian replied, "Big Georgie not in cherry tree when it got chopped down!!!"
