"HEY QUASIMODO, HOW'S IT GOING EH" AND A TORNADO NEAR MISS

SEEN ON MY COUNTRY ROAD WALK THIS MORNING...QUEEN ANNE'S LACE, CHICORY, AND CLOVER
I was up at 6:15 a.m. again, but I'm not complaining.  I've always liked starting the day off early, but these past few years, with Kelly being ill, our wake-up time had become later, with some days even as late as 8 p.m.  Quite often, a few years ago, Pheebs and I would be out the door and on the road for our morning drive shortly after 8 and we would be home again by nine or ten.  Now some days I don't even get out of the house until eleven or later:((  I've got to get myself back to some of my old ways:))

I sat down with my Kindle this morning and went to 'settings' as readers suggested.  I noticed something called airplane mode, and I knew I had seen that before, not too long ago, when I was pressing things trying to get the Kindle working properly.  I noticed the Kindle was in 'Airplane Mode', so I turned that off.  I went back to the home page and 'Holy Smackers', it worked.  The book I had tried to download a week ago was sitting there waiting for me to read.  I thought to myself, 'WOW' another major dilemma solved in my life.  Geeezzzz, maybe I'm on a roll......A reader, in a comment, asked, "So how is the new recliner"?  Well, I'm happy to say it is working out perfectly.  No soreness, stiffness, or headaches upon awakening.  And, I sleep like a log during the night.  No problem getting into or out of the chair, and the back tilts all the way back to just about level, and that's a big plus for sleeping.  However, there may be a downside to sleeping in a recliner like I have been for most of the past decade.  I have always been round shouldered and have never had good posture, (a grade 5 teacher once pointed that out to me) but now, I am really bent over, and that may be a direct result of my sleeping in a recliner all these years.  Sometimes, if I catch myself sideways walking past a full-length mirror, I am very disheartened by what I see, and the thought immediately comes into my mind, "I'm never going out of the house again"!!  It's a wonder nobody walking past me hasn't quipped, "Hey Quasimodo, how's it going eh":((

VEHICLE TRACKS IN A BEAN FIELD

At about 6:10 tonight I was startled by a loud warning screech coming from my iPhone.  Said a tornado was imminent, and people were to take shelter.  Of course, here in the pine forest we can't see the sky, so without further ado, I grabbed my camera and headed out the door.  A minute later, Subie and I were out of the Park and headed a short distance to clear the forest where I could get a clear look at the sky.  It didn't look too bad at first, so I continued east on Bayfield River Road to a crossroad where I could get a clearer view.  Although I didn't see any sign of a tornado, the skies were turning dark with massive cloud patterns mixing it up in the overhead sky and especially to the north toward Goderich.  Below, are a few photos I took..........................8:30 p.m. Update:: A tornado did touch down east of Goderich and maybe somwhere around Highway 8 and Orchard Line.  It may have touched down again near Clinton north of Holmesville.  I'll have more details in tomorrow night's post.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A pregnant woman gets into a car accident and falls into a deep coma.  Asleep for nearly six months, she wakes up and sees that she is no longer pregnant. Frantically, she asks the doctor about her baby.  The doctor replies, "Ma'am, you had twins! A boy and a girl. The babies are fine. Your brother came in and named them."  The woman thinks to herself, "Oh no, not my brother -- he's an idiot!" Expecting the worst, she asks the doctor, "Well, what's the girl's name?" "Denise," the doctor says.  The new mother thinks, "Wow, that's not a bad name! Guess I was wrong about my brother. I like Denise!" Then she asks the doctor, "What's the boy's name?"  The doctor replies, DeNephew.

I have decided to quit my job as a personal trainer, because the weights are too heavy.  I just handed in my too-weak notice.

My doctor told me I have high blood pressure and short-term memory loss.
At least I don't have high blood pressure.

My wife yelled, "are you even listening to me?"  I thought that was a weird way to start an argument.

It was a baby mosquito's first day to fly out from home.  When the mosquito came back home later that day, the father mosquito asked, "How was your journey?"  The baby mosquito replied, "It went great, everyone was clapping for me!"

OH, AND I WAS EXTRA CAREFUL THIS MORNING

Severe thunderstorms rolled through our area Thursday evening, bringing heavy rain and tornado advisories, so needless to say, I didn't get out for my evening walk or countryside drive.  However, I do have a few sunset photos from Wednesday evening that I forgot to include in my Thursday post.  Rains continued through the night, and by the time I woke up a 6:15 this morning, it was still drizzling.  But, oh my, despite the comfortable 71F temperature, the humidity factor was up to 96%.  Oh well, five months from now it will be Christmas Day and I'll be wishing I could turn the clock back to this fine summer's morn again.   Oh, and I was extra careful this morning to take my vitamin and prescription pills only and not my sleeping pill!!

With the sun finally out about mid morning, and with all the moisture in the air from late afternoon and overnight rains, it felt really humid, so I pretty much stayed inside most of the day.  A short little buzz into and around Bayfield this morning and then briefly back again this afternoon for an overdue haircut.  And that was pretty much it for another day.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( Prison vs. Work::

IN PRISON...you spend the majority of your time in an 8x10 cell.
AT WORK...you spend most of your time in a 6x8 cubicle.
IN PRISON...you get three meals a day.
AT WORK...you only get a break for one meal and you have to pay for it.
IN PRISON...you get time off for good behavior.
AT WORK...you get rewarded for good behavior with more work.
IN PRISON...a guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you.
AT WORK...you must carry around a security card and unlock and open all the doors yourself.
IN PRISON...you can watch TV and play games.
AT WORK...you get fired for watching TV and playing games.
IN PRISON...you get your own toilet.
AT WORK...you have to share.
IN PRISON...they allow your family and friends to visit.
AT WORK...you cannot even speak to your family and friends.
IN PRISON...all expenses are paid by taxpayers with no work required.
AT WORK...you get to pay all the expenses to go to work and then they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for prisoners.
IN PRISON...you spend most of your life looking through bars from the inside wanting to get out.
AT WORK...you spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars.
IN PRISON...there are wardens who are often sadistic.
AT WORK...they are called managers.

After weeks of getting the cold shoulder from his wife, the unhappy husband finally confronted her.  'Admit it, Linda. The only reason you married me is because my grandfather left me $10 million.' 'Don't be ridiculous,' she replied. 'I don't care who left it to you.'

There is an old story about the data center of the future.  This data center runs 24/7 with only a man and a dog.  The man's job is to feed the dog.  The dog's job is to make sure the man does not touch the computer.

Why God Created Eve::
10. God was worried that Adam would frequently become lost in the Garden.

9. God knew that one day Adam would require someone to locate and hand him the remote.

8. God knew Adam would never go out and buy himself a new fig leaf when his wore out and would therefore need Eve to buy one for him.

7. God knew Adam would never be able to make a doctor's, dentist, or haircut appointment for himself.

6. God knew Adam would never remember which night to put the garbage on the curb.

5. God knew if the world was to be populated, men would never be able to handle the pain and discomfort of childbearing.

4. As the Keeper of the Garden, Adam would never remember where he left his tools.

3. Apparently, Adam needed someone to blame his troubles on when God caught him hiding in the garden.

2. As the Bible says, it is not good for man to be alone!

1. When God finished the creation of Adam, He stepped back, scratched his head, and said, "I can do better than that."
