SO, THAT'S WHAT I ARE USING

Late Tuesday afternoon, Woodsy and I headed off to Goderich to pick up a few things at Giant Tiger and Walmart, where I had a prescription to drop off at the pharmacy.  Between those two stops, we slid down around the harbor and out to Rotary Cove.

Woodsy fixed us up a mighty fine roast beef supper, with potatoes, gravy, and some green and orange veggie stuff. I don't care much for carrots, so I hid those under my plate, and with a pleasant smile on my face, I was able to get most of my green peas down, but I almost had to hide some of them in my coffee cup.  Now, don't get me wrong here.  This was a great supper, and had I been able to trade my peas and carrots in for a few gobs of peanut butter on the side, I'd have had myself quite a lovely time.

Tuesday evening, we took a drive into Bayfield and cruised the main street before heading down to park on the beach and watch the sunset.  I've seen more sunsets this summer than all of the nearly 23 years that I have lived here.  In the evenings, Kelly always watched her TV shows, and I always worked on my blog or spent my time reading, so we didn't see too many sunsets over the years.  But, we sure made up for all those missed sunsets and sunrises when we spent all those many winter months between 2006 and 2019 in the great American Southwest, either in our Arizona house or boondocking in the desert.  Many wonderful sunrises and sunsets:))))

Another beautiful morning walk for me today under another deep blue sky filled with big white fluffy clouds, just like the previous two mornings.  Having big fluffy white clouds in my posts the last few days, I decided I had enough cloud photos for a while.

A FEW WEEKS AGO I HAD POSTED ABOUT SOMEBODY BUILDING A LITTLE SHED BESIDE THE ROAD IN A FIELD....HERE IS THAT SHED COMPLETE AND THE ANSWER  AS TO WHY IT WAS BUILT
Home again, I took advantage of the wonderful cooler weather and seeded another area around the carport with grass seed.  I also cut some grass and puttered around with half a dozen other little outside tasks.  I am so pleased with how my grass is growing, and I have the Park's owner to thank for that.  I noticed over the past couple of years that after working in certain areas with his machines, he would replant the area with grass seed that seemed to grow so well.  I finally asked him one day about the grass seed he uses, and he said it's Scott's Essential Sun & Shade Mix.  So, that is what I are using:))

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A woman announces to her friend that she is getting married for the fourth time. "How wonderful! But I hope you don't mind me asking what happened to your first husband? "He ate poisonous mushrooms and died." "Oh, how tragic! What about your second husband?" "He ate poisonous mushrooms too and died." "Oh, how terrible! I'm almost afraid to ask you about your third husband." "He died of a broken neck." "A broken neck?" "Ya, he wouldn't eat his mushrooms."

The boss looks over the gentleman's resume and says "Wow, I'm impressed. It seems like you've got everything needed for the job. But there's a 4-year gap in here.
What happened there?" The gentleman responds, "Oh, that's when I went to Yale."
The boss is now super impressed and hires the man on the spot. The man immediately calls his wife. "Hey honey, I got the yob."

A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though a whale is a very large mammal, its throat is very small. The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale. The teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human, it was impossible. The little girl said, "When I get to heaven, I will ask Jonah". The teacher asked, "What if Jonah went to hell?" The little girl replied, "Then you ask him!"

WHAT A WELCOME CHANGE FROM SUMMER'S HEAT AND HUMIDITY

BUMBLE BEE IN A SUNFLOWER
Due to storm cells moving through the area and with some of them packing heavy rain, there was no evening walk or country road drive on Monday evening.  Luckily, we woke up to a bright sunny morning and a cooler 55F.  Summer's transition into Autumn is well underway.  And, what a welcome change from summer's heat and humidity it is too:))  However, not looking forward to a dreaded long and cold winter all over again:((((((!!!!

STORMY LOOKING CLOUDS TO THE NORTHEAST THIS MORNING

WHITE FLUFFY CLOUDS OVER A BEAN FIELD TO THE SOUTH
OVER THIS BEANFIELD TO THE EAST WERE STORM CLOUDS
Another beautiful morning sky with big white puffy clouds overhead, to the south, and west. But oh my, such dark and stormy looking skies to the northeast.  With it being very windy I donned a nylon jacket overtop my warmer clothes and I'm glad I did.  That cold wind was all but ripping out all the cornstocks and flying them off into the next county. A nice slow and relaxing countryside drive netted me a few photos.

I HAD TO ZIP UP MY NYLON JACKET TO THE WIND AND KEEP A WARY EYE TO THE SKY ON MY WALK THIS MORNING

I think it was around noon when those morning cold winds brought in a traveling rain front.  With the much cooler dampness in the house, I turned the furnace on to take that dampness out of the air.  After lying dormant for the last 3 months, I was relieved to hear the furnace come on, followed by warm air coming out of the floor registers.  We heat with natural gas here.  And, there's something so comfy-cozy and a feeling of relief at this time of year to know the furnace will be up and running correctly from now until late Spring, to maybe around the end of May.  Say, I wonder if there is any way of fast-forwarding late October, and all of November, December, January, February, March, and April, to mid-May. Ya, I didn't think so:((

ANOTHER FINE LATE AUGUST MORNING FOR A RELAXING COUNTRY ROAD DRIVE

THE MORNING WIND WAS REALLY BLOWING THESE CORN STALKS AROUND
It was with sadness a week or so ago that I learned of the passing of a fellow RV'er, Blogger, and nature photographer, GordonWolford.  Kelly and I first met Gordon and his wife Sandra when they dropped around to see us at our boondocking site at Gunsight Wash, just south of Why, Arizona.  I liked Gordon, he was soft spoken and easy to talk to.  It was the only time we saw Gordon and Sandra.  Gordon was an exceptional photographer who specialized in nature photography.  He was a true photographer whom I sometimes referenced in my blog back in those days, around 2007.  Gordon's photography site can be found here at Gordon Wolford Photography

GROANER'S CORNER:(( One Sunday, a cowboy went to church. When he entered, he saw that he and the preacher were the only ones present. The preacher asked the cowboy if he wanted him to go ahead and preach.  If I went to feed my cattle and only one showed up, I'd still feed him."So the minister began his sermon. One hour passed, then two hours, then two-and-a-half hours. The preacher finally finished and came down to ask the cowboy how he liked the sermon. The cowboy answered. If I went to feed my cattle and only one showed up, I sure wouldn't feed him all the hay."
