A DRIVE INTO BAYFIELD NETTED ME A FEW PICTURES

Rain rolled into the neighborhood around 8:30 this morning, so I knew there would be no going outside and playing in the dirt for Al today.  Luckily, I had closed the shed doors last night and put away all my garden tools.  Sometimes, when it comes to inclement weather, I just get lucky.  But sometimes things that shouldn't get soaked just end up getting soaked anyway.

I only had two pics from yesterday for tonight's post, so I slipped out late this afternoon to see what I could find.  A drive into Bayfield netted me a few pics.

 TONIGHT'S SUNSET
GROANER'S CORNER:(( Two robins were sitting in a tree.  "I'm really hungry," said the first one. "Let's fly down and find some lunch."  They flew down to the ground and found a nice plot of newly plowed ground that was full of worms. They ate and ate and ate till they could eat no more.  "I'm so full, I don't think I can fly back up into the tree," said the first one. "Let's just lay back here and bask in the warm sun," said the second.  "O K," said the first.  So they plopped down, basking in the sun. No sooner than they had fallen asleep, when a big fat tomcat came along and gobbled them up.  As the cat sat washing his face after his meal, he thought..."I JUST LOVE BASKIN ROBINS."

A hesitant driver, waiting for a traffic jam to clear, came to a complete stop on the freeway ramp. Traffic thinned, but the driver still waited.  Finally, a furious voice from the vehicle behind him cried, “The sign says to yield, not give up!”

John: "My grandpa is 98 years old, and he doesn't even use glasses."
Jack: "Wow, that is incredible!"
John: "Yep, he drinks straight from the bottle."

A taxpayer received a strongly worded "second notice" that his taxes were overdue. Hastening to the collector's office, he paid his bill, saying apologetically that he had overlooked the first notice. "Oh," confided the collector with a smile, "we don't send out first notices. We have found that the second notices are more effective."

DISAPPOINTINGLY, I DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING UNUSUAL IN THE NIGHT SKY

 IN OUR PARK THIS MORNING
For an early November day, we were lucky to have sunshine and 51°F temps.  It was a good day to head outside and get things done, and I was lucky enough to have the energy to get those things done.  I also figured it was as good a time as any to crawl down under our unit and turn the outside water off before our temps dropped to below freezing, which last night they almost did.  One faucet valve turns to the right to turn off the water, and two faucet valves turn to the left to drain any water out of both the front and back yard water lines.  I'm already looking forward to reversing these taps and turning the water back on in the Spring.  And yes, I did remember to turn my clock back last night.  However, it might be another six weeks before I can figure out how to change it in the Subaru.  And, speaking of the Subaru, I think, by the sounds of it, I might have another wheel bearing going.  $$:((

Curious about where the over 2,000 trees, shrubs, and plants are being planted here in our Bayfield Pines Park, I took a drive down around the south end of our Park this morning, and sure enough, there were a lot of them there.  I think it is so great that the new owners are putting in the time, effort, and money to repair that section of the Park and return it to its natural forest beauty.  I'll not live long enough to see all the trees grow to fruition, but for generations to come, nature's beauty will be here for all to enjoy.

Saturday night, despite being on the cold side, I slipped out into the dark countryside after publishing the blog.  It was the beautiful three-quarter Moon I wanted to see....and see it, I did.  I love the thoughts that roll through my head while being out under the stars. Disappointingly, I didn't see anything unusual in the night sky, but who knows, maybe one of these times.  Regardless of whether I do or don't, it is definitely a favorite time for me just being out there.  No sounds of Crickets, though.  They are all gone until next summer.

ACROSS FROM THE BAYFIELD GARAGE IN BAYFIELD
GROANER'S CORNER:(( A film crew is on location in Kenya, when a tribal shaman approaches the director and says, "Tomorrow rain." The director pays no attention, but the following day it pours and shooting has to be delayed. That night, the director sends his assistant to bring the shaman back. "What will the weather be tomorrow?" asks the director.  "Bigger rain tomorrow, much wind," and sure enough, a terrible storm once again delays the filming.  But then the witch doctor disappears for a week, and the director, now depending on him, sends his people out to find him and bring him back to camp.  Finally, he is located and brought to the director's tent. "What will the weather be tomorrow?" asks the director in desperation.  "No idea," says the shaman, "Radio batteries dead."

A father spoke to his son, "It's time we had a little talk, my son. Soon, you will have urges and feelings you've never had before. Your heart will pound & your hands will sweat. You'll be preoccupied and won't be able to think of anything else." He added, "But don't worry, it's perfectly normal... it's called golf."

Two Musicians in a major symphonic orchestra were discussing who they thought the least talented musician in the band was. One of them said, that's easy.  See that guy standing in the back? Well, we just put two sticks in his hands and we call him a Drummer. The other responded, well, if we take one stick away, we call him a Conductor!!
