AND 'BANG-ZOOM' I'M RIGHT BACK OUT THE DOOR AGAIN

Bonus...another windless morning found me out at my walking road.  It is the season of the year now when everything is so lush and so green.  If only winter could be shortened to maybe one day.

IT WAS KIND OF CROWDED IN THE CAR THIS MORNING WITH A LARGE PATIO SCREEN DOOR IN THERE WITH ME
Needing to get a patio screen door repaired, it was off to Goderich I went with a cool, fine mist in the air.  A few horse pictures along the way.

My stops in Goderich this morning included Home Hardware, Food Basics, a coffee to go at McD's, and a drive down around the harbor and out to Rotary Cove.

LAKE HURON WATERS WERE AS FLAT AS GLASS TODAY

From the harbor, it was a double Buddy Burger at A&W, and a stop at Zehr's garden center for four bags of mulch.  A quick trip to Walmart netted me a few things.  Whenever I have to go to Walmart, there is no browsing for me.  I just grab what I went in for and 'bang-zoom' I'm right back out the door again.  My last stop was at the Canadian Tire Store, where I picked up a Hydrangea plant at the garden center..I also snagged a bag for my E-Bike so that I can carry my camera, a couple of peanut butter sandwiches, and a quart of chocolate milk.

WHEN I TOOK THIS PHOTO, I DID NOT SEE THE BIRD FLYING THROUGH IT

Home again, under sunny blue skies I decided it was time to clean the Subaru's interior, so that's what I did.  Worked away at my invasive Oriental Bittersweet vine as well.  I think I've just about got all of it finally cut out.

On my way to Goderich this morning I was thinking how lucky I am to be living where I do. I can reach a Wal-Mart,  Canadian Tire,  a hospital, Tim Hortons, 3 Pharmacies, 2 major food chains, 3 gas bars, Home Hardware, Harveys, Swiss Chalet, A&W,  McDonalds, and Wendys plus a whole number of smaller retail outlets with only a few traffic lights to deal with.  And all of them within 20 minutes of where I live in this quiet country setting at the Bayfield Pines.  It's also a quiet paved country road drive between here & Goderich with very little traffic, unless I take the highway which I very rarely do,  Yes, I am very fortunate indeed to be living where I do now after a life of moving around (sometimes only a few months) in places like Toronto, Montreal, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Vernon, British Columbia, Kitchener, Stratford, near Fullarton, and Tavistock, Ontario.  I have never lived longer in one place than I have lived right here where I am now at the Bayfield Pines.  Been here well over twenty-three years.  Looks like I just might stay put this time:))

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A young girl who was writing a paper for school came to her father and asked, “Dad, what is the difference between anger and exasperation?” The father replied, “It is mostly a matter of degree. Let me show you what I mean.” With that the father went to the telephone and dialed a number at random. To the man who answered the phone, he said, “Hello, is Melvin there?” The man answered, “There is no one living here named Melvin. Why don't you learn to look up numbers before you dial”. “See,” said the father to his daughter. “That man was not a bit happy with our call. He was probably very busy with something and we annoyed him. Now watch….”The father dialed the number again. “Hello, is Melvin there?” asked the father. “Now look here!” came the heated reply. “You just called this number and I told you that there is no Melvin here! You've got lot of guts calling again!” The receiver slammed down hard.  The father turned to his daughter and said, “You see, that was anger. Now I'll show you what exasperation means.”  He dialed the same number, and when a violent voice roared, “Hello!”  The father calmly said, “Hello, this is Melvin. Have there been any calls for me?”

“Do you believe in life after death?” the boss asked one of his employees. “Yes, sir,” the clerk replied.  “That’s good,” the boss said. “After you left early yesterday to go to your grandmother’s funeral, she stopped in to see you.”

Mindy: "I finally fixed that annoying noise in my car."
Missy: "Really? How did you do it?'
Mindy: "I opened the door and pushed him out."

A man got really drunk one night in his local pub. The barman refused to serve him any more alcohol and told him he should be heading home. The man thought this was a good idea so he stood up to leave but fell over straight away. He tried to stand up again but only fell over again. He thought if only he could get outside and get some fresh air he'd be grand. So he crawled outside then tried to stand up and fell over again. In the end after falling over lots more he decided to crawl home. When he got back to his house he pulled himself up using the door handle but as soon as he let go he fell over again. He had to crawl up the stairs and managed to fall over onto the bed and fell asleep. When he finally woke up the next morning, his wife asked him what he was doing at the pub last night. He denied it, but she said, "I know you were there." He maintained his innocence until his wife said, "The barman rang to say you forgot your wheelchair again!!!!"

'OMG' I JUST FOUND 66 COMMENTS WAITING TO BE APPROVED:)))))

 MALE ROSE BREASTED GROSBEAK

Right after I published Saturday night's blog, I again went to my Blogger settings to have another look at my blog's comment/moderation section.  And, there it was, in plain sight, where I of course, had overlooked it.  I had been looking for the problem in my 'settings,' but as it turns out......there was no problem to begin with.  People's comments were coming in for my approval all along, and I was looking in the wrong place for them.  I thought they were going to come in an email form.  But no, they came into Blogger under the title 'comments'.  I don't know why I didn't see that or didn't clue into that before, but when I clicked on the word 'comment', there were 66 comments awaiting approval.  I read through all of them (thanks, everybody) and immediately approved them all.  I was so impressed to see that some readers kept trying over and over to comment.  I checked back over my posts for the past few weeks, and yes, folks, your comments are now all in there on each separate post.  I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am that I finally found my silly oversight, and people can once again comment.  So now, if your comment doesn't appear right away, just know that it will, as soon as I approve it.  Thank you to everyone for being so patient and hanging in there with me.  Soooooo much appreciated:)))))))))))))

Without any gusting winds trying to rip the trees out of the ground for a change this morning, I dressed on the warm side, and although a light spritzy drizzle, I made it out for my morning walk.  A solid milky gray cloud cover from horizon to horizon.  How great to get some of those cobwebs out of my legs again.  After yesterday's mentally and physically lethargic day, it was a feel-good boost to be outside and walking.  I didn't let a lack of sunshine and the threat of rain at any moment deter me. Following my brisk walk, I headed back home because the gravelly country roads were soft and squooshy from yesterday's and last night's rain.  No point in going any further and turning Subie into a mud puppy.

MY SHOES GOT A WEE BIT MUDDY ON THE SOFT GRAVEL ROAD THIS MORNING
A SLIGHT SPRITZY MIST IN THE AIR THIS MORNING
The north side of my unit here at the Bayfield Pines never gets any sun and is prone to the gathering of mildew along the soffits and the siding.  With no sun to shine directly into my eyes while looking up, I figured it was a good day to get my ladder out and get at those white soffits and beige siding.  It is very unsightly looking with green mildew on both the siding and the soffits.  Of course, I could always get a few gallons of green paint and paint the soffits and siding green.  That way, I'd never notice the mildew.  Ya right, squash that idea!!  So, I tackled the mildew problem, and never even fell off the ladder once.  I also cleaned the west-facing soffit and siding on the carport.  No aerial arobatics for that one because I could easily reach everything with a long-handled brush.  I also spent another hour cutting away at that nasty and invasive Oriental Bittersweet vine I was talking about a few days ago in my blog.  Its tentacle vines are tightly wrapped around just about anything it could find out there.  It has been quite a job cutting it all out of a cedar tree, which it had nearly strangled it to death.  I think the cedar will survive now.  I sure made up today for the time I lost yesterday:))

Searching for an article in my blog's archives today, I came across something I wrote about on May 23rd, 2009, and it had to do with dreams.  Here are those thoughts.....Ever wonder about dreams? I am a light sleeper so I frequently wake up 3 or 4 times during the night. Not very restful but I do dream a lot & I figure the reason I remember parts of my dreams is simply due to the fact that I don't slip into that deep heavy sleep for the entire night. I have also learned that as I am waking up from a dream, I can remember it better if I don't open my eyes. I liken it to opening the back of a camera with a roll of film in it.  As soon as the light hits the film, the  film is ruined and any images are erased. Same thing with the brain so if I'm coming out of a dream, I resist the urge to open my eyes & look at the clock. Well, as long as it was a good dream anyway. I try to go back into the dream sometimes but it usually begins to quickly fade & I'm only able to retrieve bits & pieces most of the time. I like the flying dreams best as I float over trees & people on the ground. I have never remembered a landing but my takeoff is always the same. I take about 4 quick steps forward & then I very daintily step up into the air & begin to float skyward. Sometimes I fly very fast, but most times I just kind of move along slowly, hovering over things here & there. And sometimes there are others in the air with me, but they don't seem to fly quite as well. Meeting old friends is another part of the dream process I enjoy. People from 50 & 60 years ago drift in & out. No rhyme or reason but all of a sudden there they are & I'm talking to them. Could be someone I only met once or twice decades ago or it could be a current or long time friend. The people who have the most impact & leave the longest lasting memories for me are the ones who have passed away. In any dream sequence, a departed friend or relative may appear & it is always such a good feeling inside to once again see & talk to them. And then they drift away into the mist & a sadness fills the void. It's those dreams that I try to hang onto as I'm waking up. I try to re-enter the dream & run after that old friend to see them just one more time but they are gone until they re-appear in a dream again to once more put a smile on my sleeping face..................And, here's something I came across years ago that deals with Astronomy and Astrology.  I found it very interesting. People sometimes confuse Astronomy with Astrology. Although related in ancient myth they are literally light years apart in the realm of fact & fantasy. Here is a brief explanation of the difference...."Astronomy is a science that compels us to seek beyond ourselves and our small world, a science of discovery that enriches our lives by exercising our brain and our intellect. It empowers you to think clearly and rationally. It improves and sharpens critical thinking skills." It may even encourage you to free up your mind to think beyond conventional religious beliefs"............... Astrology disempowers you. By placing your future in the accidental configuration of planets and stars, you avoid taking responsibility for your actions, you fail to make decisions based on your own best self interest, and you give up the power to control your own destiny. Belief in astrology results in a degradation of critical thinking skills, which, combined with the loss of power to control your own destiny, can only serve to degrade your life, not enrich it." "Be in charge of your life. Experience the mystery, awe, and excitement of observational astronomy..............................................

GROANER'S CORNER:(( There's a man named Ralph that goes into a bar, looking very depressed. A friend approaches him and asks, "Why the long face, Ralph?" "Oh, I'm just bored. I know every person in the entire world now, and there's just nothing left to challenge me." His friend says, "No, you can't know everyone. Do you know Paul McCartney?" He says, "Sure, Paul's an old friend of mine. Here, I'll show you." He goes over to a phone, dials a number. His friend overhears a British accent, "Hey Ralph, how ya doing?" He talks for a while, but when Ralph hangs up, his friend is not really sure that it was Paul McCartney on the other end of the line, so he asks him if he knows the president.  Ralph says, "Sure, we go way back." This time, he lets him listen in as he calls a private number. It sounds like the president on the other end of the line, and they go into a big discussion of the current economic scene, and Ralph offers a few suggestions. Drawing the conversation to a close, Ralph wishes him well and hangs up. His friend is a little dumbfounded at this point. "Well, there must be someone that you don't know." He goes over a few more people in his mind, and thinks, 'He can't possibly know the Pope. After all, he's a Protestant.' But Ralph claims to know him, so to convince himself otherwise, his friend decides to fly both himself and Ralph to the Vatican to get positive proof of Ralph's conviction. So they arrive at the Vatican, and Ralph suggests that his friend wait out in St. Peter's Square until Ralph has cleared things with the Pope. He's standing in the courtyard, when who walks out onto the balcony of the private residence, arm in arm with the Pope, but Ralph. Ralph looks down, sees that his friend has apparently passed out, and runs down to see what can be done for him. "What happened to you? Couldn't you accept the fact that I really do know the Pope?" "No, I'd begun to accept that possibility. But what really took my breath away was some stranger standing next to me who said, 'Who's that guy standing there with Ralph?'"

Driving down a remote road, a motorist sees a sign that says: "Watch For Fallen Rocks." A couple of miles of careful driving later, he spots some pebbles and stops to pick a few up. Arriving in the next town, the motorist carries the stones into the highway maintenance office.  Placing them on the counter, he says to an official, "Here are your fallen rocks. Now where's my watch?"

While shopping for vacation clothes, my husband and I passed a display of bathing suits. It had been at least ten years and twenty pounds since I had even considered buying a bathing suit, so I sought my husband's advice. "What do you think?" I asked. "Should I get a bikini or an all-in-one?" "Better get a bikini," he replied.
"You'd never get it all in one."
