I MUST HAVE BEEN IN ANOTHER ONE OF MY SENIOR DELUSIONAL FOGS

DSC_0029

Because of our 47F windy cold and heavily overcast day there wasn’t much happening with the Bayfield Bunch today.  I did some weed whacking & shrub trimming around the property.  That only lasted for a short while & I was back inside enjoying the warmth of our new gas furnace.  Kelly busied herself with unpacking & I did some more painting.  Really nothing else worth writing about so I will again leave you with some catch-up photos from recent days.  I took the Phlox flower photos Saturday morning around the south end of the dog walking area at the south end of Goderich’s beach.

Oh, just remembered something from this morning.  When it comes to assembling anything I have about a 2.6 second attention span & even less patience.  Last month Kelly had picked out 3 new shelving units & a closet/drawer thingy for the recently renovated bed/storage room.  I must have been in one of my Senior delusional fogs at the time because all these units came unassembled neatly packaged in large cardboard boxes.  What was I thinking, thinking I could assemble them!!  We’re at the stage now where these things need to be put together so this morning I picked out what I thought would be the easiest assembly.  Let me preface this by saying in my world there never has been nor ever will be such a thing as an easy assembly of anything and within a minute of picking up & trying to put together the first two of many pieces I myself ended up being the basket case needing re-assembly.  I had to walk away from the project and go do something I knew I could do.  Filled up the bird feeder.  Twenty minutes later the shelf thingy was all assembled.  Yup it’s good to have Kelly home again…………….:))

DOGGY AT THE BEACH SUNDAY NIGHT

GROANER’S CORNER:((  A man came home from the office and found his new bride sobbing convulsively. "I feel terrible," she told him. "I was pressing your suit and I burned a big hole in the seat of your trousers."  "Oh, just forget it," consoled her husband. "Remember that I've got an extra pair of pants for that suit."  "Yes, I know. And it's lucky you have!" said the woman, drying her eyes. "I was able to use a piece from them to patch the hole!"

‘YAHOUIE LOUIE’ KELLY’S HOME, KELLY’S HOME:))

DSC_8235

Light rains & a chilly overcast this morning so rather than head out and get the Jeep all muddy & our paws all wet in the long Marsh grass we decided to skip our morning outing & stay in puttering about getting a few last minute things tidied up before Kelly gets home.  Air was dead calm with our temperatures sitting on the 50F mark.

WONDER IF HE WAS PLANNING ON ROWING ALL THE WAY TO ENGLAND

An email from Kelly rolled in just before noon saying she was stopping for a break at the 401 rest center west of Woodstock so we knew she was back in Canada & would likely be home sometime between 1 and 2 and sure enough the little white car rolled into our driveway at 1:45 p.m.  Well needless to say Pheebs was totally ecstatic as she raced out of the house, cleared the porch steps & hit the ground running tail just a going.  She was sooooooo happy to see Mom home again.

PHEEBS EAGERLY SHOWS KELLY THE NEW FURNACE

IMG_2287

Nice to have Kelly home again & our little Bayfield Bunch family is once more together again.  No more sad little doggy faces.  No more sad little doggy Daddy faces either.  Kelly loved the renovations & is so pleased at how everything looks.  It's a good thing she didn't see the big mess going on here a week & a half ago when the furnace guys & carpet installer were here.  Of course we still have a big job ahead in sorting things out & deciding what pieces of furniture to keep as well as a zillion other things but at least the renovation part is behind us now & a job we had been putting off for years is finally done.

Tired tonight so think I'll shorten up on my usual longwinded self & keep the blog short.  Gonna just go curl up in my recliner & let myself fade away for the evening.

GROANER’C CORNER:((  It was the kindergarten teachers birthday and the students decided that they would each buy their teacher a gift.  The first student, whose parents own a florist shop, gave her a present. She held it and said "I guess that it is flowers".   "How did you guess?" asked the little boy. She laughed and thanked him.  The second student, whose parents own a candy store, gave her a present. She held it and said, "I guess that is some candy."  "How did you guess?" asked the little boy. She again laughed and thanked him also.  The third student, whose parents own a bottle shop, gave her a box which was leaking. The teacher touched the liquid with her finger and tasted it. "Mmmmm is it wine?" she asked.  "No," said the little girl.
So she tasted it again. "Is it champaigne?" she asked.  "No," replied the little girl, "It is a puppy.

AL’s Old Scratchings…..  ‘Incident In A Forest’

A Spider spun it's silken vines
Back and forth in magical lines.

First it went up then it went down
Then it came back and went all around.

Soon it was done and paused in the breeze
Enchantingly silent among the still trees.

Night passed on and gave way to the Sun
But the Spiders work wasn't quite done.

For a passing fly in all innocence flew
Straight into the web and mornings wet dew.

The Spider advanced with caution and stealth
To claim it’s victim of bountiful wealth.

The fly in desperation struggled but knew
That for it this was a final adieu.

A struggle ensued in the morning light
A struggle that lasted on into the night.

First they went up then they went down
Then they came back and went all around.

Finally done they paused in the breeze
Locked in death among the still trees.
