WE FOLLOWED THE BUGGY TRACKS TO WHERE WE HEARD A CHORUS OF ANGELIC VOICES

DSC_0004-001

With night time lows in the mid 50's now I am back into warm T-Shirts again.  Has always been a mystery to me why people wear heat confining T-shirts on hot summer days.  A T-shirt has always been a piece of clothing worn to keep warm in my world.   I guess in some ways my world may differ from your world………….DSC_0010-001

CAME ACROSS THESE LARGE TIGHTLY BUNDLED ROUND STRAW BALES ON OUR COUNTRY ROAD TRAVELS THIS MORNING

NOW IF I WAS JUST A SLIGHTLY YOUNGER PERSON I MIGHT BE INCLINED TO CLIMB ATOP THOSE BALES AND GO RUNNING, JUMPING AND BOUNCING ALL THE WAY ACROSS THEM

The Cambridge crew was up about 7, had some breakfast and began packing up.  Pheebs seems to somehow know when I'm thinking about taking her out for a ride in the Jeep and this morning she was again sticking to me like glue so we said our 'good-byes' to the Cambridge folks and headed out.IMG_0232

‘NO NO NO NO’ I DON’T WANT TO GO HOME I WANT TO STAY HERE WITH PHEEBS

Slipping through Tim Hortons drive-thru we two muffin heads headed North.  A leg stretch in the Marsh then headed ourselves for Mennonite/Amish country.  It was Sunday morning and I knew if we found some buggy tracks along a gravel road we could follow them to their destination.  And that's what we did.DSC_0012

Traveling west on Glens Hill Road we picked up half a dozen sets of buggy tracks in St. Augustine also heading west.  Following those tracks we soon saw them swing left onto Prosperity Line.  Knowing where the Mennonite/Amish farms were on Prosperity Line I knew we were close to finding what we were looking for.  Minutes later I paused at a laneway where all the buggy tracks had turned into.  Eased off to the side of the road and shut the motor off.  I immediately heard what we had come to hear.DSC_0026-001

JUST OVER THAT HILL WE FOUND WHAT WE WERE LOOKING FOR

This was the third time I had found where the folks were congregating for their Sunday morning services and this was the third time I heard a most Angelic sound in the air.  It's hard for me again to describe just exactly what I was hearing.  I once described it as singing but I'm thinking it is more like chanting.  No instruments of course and I did not hear any distinguishable words.  The sound melodically rose and fell as it rolled slowly through the quiet countryside.   I was able to distinguish children's voices for the first time.  When I come this way on a Sunday morning again I will bring my 'recorder' and see if I can capture this most gentle sound.  Not wanting to make anyone nervous if they happened to look out a window I only remained there for maybe 5 minutes before rolling on.  DSC_0018-001

FOLLOWED THE TRACKS TILL THEY TURNED INTO THIS DRIVEWAY

I SAT HERE AT THE END OF THE DRIVEWAY LISTENING TO THE UNSEEN ANGELIC VOICES LIFTING UP TO THE SKY

We were only about 3 miles from Lake Wawanosh so needing a leg stretch Pheebs and I made our way to the Lake.   Such a peaceful setting here with rarely anyone around.  Pheebs sometimes likes to get her paws wet and I always enjoy seeing her running about enjoying herself.  it was about 11:15 when we set a course for home and with maybe half a dozen quick photo stops along the way we rolled into our driveway at exactly high noon.DSC_0036-001

Kelly rolled in about half an hour later after spending a few hours with Ben, Bri and the boys browsing around downtown Bayfield.   The boys enjoyably also took advantage of Bayfield's water park and playground equipment in Clangregor Square before heading back to Cambridge.  By the time Kelly got home she was pretty much whupped from all this past weeks visiting and social activities.  Well that made two of us and we weren't long slipping into a major afternoon rest mode.DSC_0020-001

No plans for Holiday Monday but I might get started on a Motorhome clean-up.  All the rig's glass is needing to be cleaned along with the usual 'black streaks' on the coach under the windows.  And some wax here and there wouldn't hurt either.  Will also start on rounding up things that will be traveling with us this winter.  Lots to do in the coming weeks but it's all good stuff and I look forward to getting things organized.  The absolute best time of the year is upon us now and as long as the hot weather with it's accompanying miserable humidity stays away we'll be just fine.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( Joe's wife bought a new line of expensive cosmetics guaranteed to make her look years younger. After a lengthy sitting before the mirror applying the "miracle" products, she asked, "Darling, honestly, what age would you say I am?" Looking over her carefully, Joe replied, "Judging from your skin, twenty; your hair, eighteen; and your figure, twenty five." "Oh, you flatterer!" she gushed. "Hey, wait a minute!" Joe interrupted. "I haven't added them up yet."

Joe should be out of intensive care in about a week.

AN OVER-TIRED DAY AFTER A POOR NIGHT’SLEEP IN THE RIG

DSC_0031_thumb[1]

WITH MY MIND NOW TURNING MORE AND MORE TO THE GREAT AMERICAN SOUTHWEST ONCE AGAIN I THOUGHT I’D THROW IN A PHOTO REASON AS TO WHY…..TOOK THIS PICTURE AROUND THE END OF FEBRUARY 2012 NEAR CALIFORNIA’S ‘DESERT CENTER’ EAST OF INDIO AND WEST OF BLYTH

Sleeping in the Motorhome for a couple nights is a nice break from our summer routine.  Friday night went Okay…..well sorta.  Hadn't thought about it but Kelly reminded me last night it would be the first time for me sleeping in the new to us leather recliner we had bought a couple months ago.  Wished I could say I had a great sleep but at 2:45 a.m. I was awake and that was basically the start of my day.   I'm sure the recliner will be fine with a few adjustments here and there and after all when trying out new things there is often a period of simply getting used to something different.  The really downside of it all for me is anytime I do not get a good sleep it pretty much always washes out the following day for me and today was no exception.  Probably one of the finest weather days of the year so far and there I was Zombied and grouched out for the day.

It was off with us all to the Bayfield Berry Farm again this morning.  Another great breakfast of course.  How nice of Ben, Bri and the boys generously picking up the tab.  From the Berry Farm the Cambridge crew headed up north of Goderich to visit friends for the day while Kelly and I headed home with some breakfast treats for the fabulous Pheebs.DSC_0010

<<< WHAT GOES TOGETHER BETTER THAN A LITTLE BOY AND A HANDFUL OF DIRT

Needing a break from all our social life as of late Pheebs and I will be up and out the door Sunday morning heading off to our usual quiet places of great solitude and peace.  Crickets and birds with gentle westerly winds playing in the Willows.  Oh how I enjoy and appreciate these quieter days.   No more of that work stuff anymore, no demanding social responsibilities, the wild parties are over, the crazy years and the bad old drinking days long gone.  Lots of memories and experiences of course with some bringing back smiles while others catch me up short and make me wince.  Glad to be where I'm at and would not want to go back and have to do it all over again.

Due to our hot weather this summer it's probably been well over a month since Pheebe has taken me for a walk around our Pine Tree trail here at our Park.  Dredging up a few shards of energy this afternoon I grabbed my clippers and off we went.  Far as I know I am the only one who does any maintenance on the trail by keeping the forests branches from making the paths impassable.  Needless to say we had us a bit of clipping to do.  Purposely did not take a camera with me and of course we startled a Blue Heron on the Park’s pond which in turn nearly blew my hat off in it’s haste to get away.

Our company will be heading home Sunday and that will wrap up our whirl wind social activities for this past week.  Our thoughts and energies will now quickly focus on our upcoming winter travels.  Much to be done between now and our departure and it’s not the kind of thing one wants to wait until the last minute to do.  I have a departure date in mind but of course it doesn’t mean a thing until at such time ‘I am told by the powers that be’ that ‘yes’ we can leave on that date.  I’m sure all you guys out there know how frustrating that is right!!

AN EARLY MORNING DEW SPARKLS IN LONG GRASS ALONG A COUNTRY ROAD

GROANER'S CORNER:((  It's that time of year to take our annual senior citizen test. Exercising the brain is as important as exercising muscles. As we grow older, it's important to keep mentally alert. If you don't use it, you lose it! Below is a very private way to gauge your loss or non-loss of intelligence. Take the test presented here to determine if you're losing it or not. The spaces below are so you don't see the answers until you've made your answer. OK, relax, clear your mind and begin.
1. What do you put in a toaster?
Answer: "bread." If you said "toast," give up now and do something else. Try not to hurt yourself. If you said, bread, go to Question 2.
2. Say "silk" five times. Now spell "silk"
What do cows drink?
Answer: Cows drink water. If you said "milk," don't attempt the next question. Your brain is over-stressed and may even overheat. Content yourself with reading a more appropriate literature such as Auto-World. However, if you said "water", proceed to question 3.
3. If a red house is made from red bricks and a blue house is made from blue bricks and a pink house is made from pink bricks and a black house is made from black bricks , what is a green house made from?
Answer: Greenhouses are made from glass. If you said "green bricks," why the heck are you still reading these??? If you said "glass," go on to Question 4.
4. It's twenty years ago, and a plane is flying at 20,000 feet over Germany (If you will recall, Germany at the time was politically divided into West Germany and East Germany .) Anyway, during the flight, two engines fail. The pilot, realizing that the last remaining engine is also failing, decides on a crash landing procedure. Unfortunately the engine fails before he can do so and the plane fatally crashes smack in the middle of "no man's land" between East Germany and West Germany . Where would you bury the survivors? East Germany , West Germany , or no man's land"?
Answer: You don't bury survivors.
If you said ANYTHING else, you're a dunce and you must stop. If you said, "You don't bury survivors", proceed to the next question.
5. Without using a calculator - You are driving a bus from London to Milford Haven in Wales . In London , 17 people get on the bus. In Reading , six people get off the bus and nine people get on. In Swindon, two people get off and four get on. In Cardiff, 11 people get off and 16 people get on . In Swansea , three people get off and five people get on. In Carmathen, six people get off and three get on. You then arrive at Milford Haven. What was the name of the bus driver?
Answer: Oh, for crying out loud!
Don't you remember your own name? It was YOU!!Now pass this along to all your friends andpray they do better than you.
PS: 95% of people fail most of the questions!!
