MAYBE MONDAY WILL BE A BETTER DAY.............

 IMG_0273 DSC_0007  IMG_0274

THESE PHOTOS PRETTY MUCH SUM UP TODAY'S WEATHER & ATTITUDE & YES, THOSE ARE ARTIFICIAL FLOWERS IN THE FLOWER BED.........OH, & THAT THERMOMETER IS IN CELSIUS, NOT FAHRENHEIT

Just a wee dusting of snow greeted us at first light this morning.  Hardly enough to cover the ground but just enough to make me want to go back to bed & pull the covers over my head.  Temps in the cloudy & damp mid 30’s.  Not exactly one of those fine mornings that makes a fella want to rush outside & get the gardening tools going again. I THINK MR. ROBIN IS IN FOR A MEAL OF COLD WORMS!!

BIRD FEEDER RAIDER & A MALE COWBIRD
Did manage to slip out & do a bit of raking between snow showers but finally just packed it in & retreated back inside where it was warm.  Not a good day for bird photos but I took a few anyway.  Maybe tomorrow will bring some motivation & creative thoughts………………

ARRIVAL OF THE CAPED CRUSADER.......(A PAIR OF COWBIRDS)
GROANER’S CORNER:((   A farmer purchased an old, run-down, abandoned farm with plans to turn it into a thriving enterprise. The fields were grown over with weeds, the farmhouse was falling apart, and the fences were broken down.  During his first day of work, the town preacher stops by to bless the man's work, saying, "May you and God work together to make this the farm of your dreams!"   A few months later, the preacher stops by again to call on the farmer.  Lo and behold, it's a completely different place.  The farm house is completely rebuilt and in excellent condition, there is plenty of cattle and other livestock happily munching on feed in well-fenced pens, and the fields are filled with crops planted in neat rows.  "Amazing!" the preacher says. "Look what God and you have accomplished together!"  "Yes, reverend," says the farmer, "but remember what the farm was like when God was working it alone!"

KEEPING TRACK OF A FEW RV BLOGGER FRIENDS

DSC_0015

EVEN MOURNING DOVES BLINK SOMETIMES WHEN YOUR TRYING TO TAKE THEIR PICTURE

A long dreary gray day here in Southern Ontario so rather than give you a blow by blow of my rather mundane daily activities from the time I got up till the time I went to bed lets just go see what some of our RVing blogger friends are up to…………….

KELLY'S WORKING ON A SPRING PROMOTIONAL FLYER FOR DEER PARK LODGE

RETIRED ROD had the insurance adjuster out to assess the hail damage to their Motor Home.  Not good!!  With heavy rains fast approaching Rod had to get a tarp over the top of his rig….fast!!  Check out his site & see what happened when he tried to do that!!

TERI is carefully planning her leisurely route from Florida back to Illinois when she slips down to near Tampa shortly & picks up her very first RV.

OUR FIRST AMERICAN GOLD FINCH HAS ARRIVED

TRAVELS IN THERAPY are in the Lone Pine & Bishop areas of California patiently exploring around some of the mountain roads that will soon be free of snow.

STU & FROGGI DONNA blew a radiator hose as steam & anti-freeze belched out from under their Freightliner truck’s engine hood.  Would Stu be able to fix the leak with his ‘Monster Tape?’  Hmmmmm.

OOOOH, THERE HE GOES TAKING MY PICTURE AGAIN!!

The Gals from Oregon over at THE MOHO & OTHER TRAVELING TALES out on a week-end road trip recently spotted a strange creature on the road ahead of them which they later identified as a Fisher.  I think it was a Sasquatch:))

FOR A CHANGE OF PACE I THREW THIS FILE PHOTO IN OF A TANKER TAKING ON A LOAD OF SALT IN THE GODERICH HARBOR LAST OCTOBER:))

Due to an unfortunate long term health issue DOUG & JoANN have had to make some very difficult decisions this past week & it looks like they will be leaving the Southwest shortly & heading back to Florida.

GYPSY has sold her Lance camper & is contemplating selling her big dually pick up truck that she had used to haul around her 5th wheel trailer awhile back.  It’s time for some major changes in Gypsy’s life as she gears up for her next move.

OUR LITTLE MOUSE FACE
Despite surviving about half a dozen plane crashes over the last 3 months, JOHN'S flying skills are slowly improving as he managed a couple safe landings yesterday without bending up his aircraft.  John fly’s model airplanes:))

Like so many Snow Birds seem to do every year, JOHN & BRENDA have landed themselves back in Canada on the early side………..in a pile of snow.

On their way home from Florida, KEN & RUTH have been grounded in Bedford, Pennsylvania by high winds & rain.  Not nice when all you want to do is just get on home to the comforts of your own house!!

Didn’t take MIKE long to strap on some gloves & get into some good old Montana fence building after arriving back at their ranch from the Southwest this year.

And that’s about it for a drizzly Saturday.  Chance of snow here Sunday…………….

GROANER’S CORNER:((  After last night’s groaner I figured I had better go with something light & fluffy tonight……..
What did Cinderella say to the photographer?  Some day my prints will come............

THE BRAIN FORGOT TO TELL THE BODY IT HAD GONE BACK TO BED!!

DSC_3614

HOWDY, I'M A MALE CARDINAL BUT THEY CALL ME 'BIG RED' IN THESE HERE PARTS

If I had sleeping pills in the house & had made the mistake of mixing one of them up with my vitamin pills this morning it would have explained my 'dead zone' day.  Don't think I have had one of those low energy falling asleep days since last summer sometime.  Maybe it mentally had something to do with the below freezing & biting east wind that greeted us as we stepped out of the house this morning.  The brain must have said to the body, 'that's enough of that baloney, I'm taking the day off & going back to bed!!'  Took my body awhile to realize the brain had left but when it did it crumpled me into my recliner whereupon I remained in a Zombie like state for hours.  Somewhere during the course of the day I did manage to regain consciousness long enough to take a few bird & squirrel photos though:))

OUR RESIDENT RED SQUIRREL

Donna in a comment on Thursday night's blog asks....Is it just me, or are you content to be home, puttering around the yard and smiling lots?? Lately your blogs have sounded more "satisfied" and "content", even though you're not in your RV.

DARK EYED JUNCO

Well Donna, the words 'satisfied' & 'content' are a stretch for me at the best of times.  With my restless personality a contentedly satisfied situation is a bit rare indeed.  The fact that I am busy right now with the big Spring clean up may give the appearance of me being happily content & I would have to agree with that in part.  I am at my best if I have an agreeable project of some sort on the go.  Upon our return from the Southwest each Spring I generally last about a month before the routines begin to settle in & kick off my seasonal 'hitch-itch.'  If I had my Druthers, I would sooner be on the road somewhere traveling the highways & byways of Canada & America's south & northwest regions.  I'm thinking I would like to be somewhere moderately warm in Arizona right now waiting for temperatures to rise before moving up into Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia & beyond.  There is still so much to see & do & so little time left to see & do it all in.

IT'S A PEEPING MOTORMOUSE

Kelly is back into the swing of things at Deer Park Lodge for another season so it will be pedal to the metal for her from now until late October sometime.  Oh how I wish we could head west in September & catch the remaining warm temps & Autumn colors in Colorado.

BLACK CAPPED CHICKADEE

GROANER’S CORNER:((  Judge: young man, it says here you shot and killed a California Condor. How do you plead? Defendant: Guilty your honor. Judge: GUILTY!? Don't you know how endangered these condors are? There are hardly any left at all. Defendant: Yes sir, I know, but I had to feed my family, we're so poor. Judge: That's no excuse. I fine you 30 days in jail. By the way, what does California Condor taste like? Defendant: It's real good, kinda like a cross between Bald Eagle and Whooping Crane!

Two duck hunters out on the marsh duck hunting. One says to the other, "we're not having much luck today getting any ducks." The other one says, " maybe we're not throwing the dog high enough."
