''YAHOUIE LOUIE' PHEEBS AND I ARE BACK 'ON THE ROAD AGAIN':)))))

A COUPLE OF HAPPY GUYS TO FINALLY BE OUT AND ABOUT THIS MORNING
In a perfect world, it would have been a big bright, sunny morning with warm temperatures for our first day back on the road in 6 weeks.  However, it is what it was and with Willy Nelson's song, 'On The Road Again' rolling around in my head, we happily headed out into the countryside with Pheebs window down and the heater on despite a cold rainy drizzle and cloudy skies overhead.  It was 37F.  I had hoped to start our day off with a good old country road walk but it was not to be so we headed off to Goderich to follow our usual McDonald's coffee and harbor routine and to pick up some stuff at Walmart.  Peanut butter, coffee, etc.

HOW GREAT TO TURN RIGHT OUT OF THE PARK AND HEAD FOR THE COUNTRYSIDE
 WE EVEN SAW 'OLD LONESOME'
I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE TWO ALGOMA SHIPS ANCHORED ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE GODERICH HARBOR
 THE ALGOMA NIAGARA
 THE ALGOMA INTREPID
BOTH SHIPS WERE RIDING HIGH OUT OF THE WATER SO THEY MUST NOT HAVE ANY CARGO ABOARD
Too cold and damp outside for me to be out there so it was another inside job.  A few bird pics and more reading.  Because I mistakenly had my camera's ISO setting waaaay too high (6400) today's photos are grainy and mottled looking but I've decided to include them anyway.  You know me....'perfection only' is not my game and they don't call me, 'One-Shot Charlie' for nothing.

METHINKS IT'S A RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER
 GOLDFINCH
 MOURNING DOVE
 GRACKLE

A RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD AND PROBABLY A MAIL WITH THAT BRIGHT RED WING BAR
Kelly talked to her daughter Rebecca in Spain today.  Rebecca thinks we should move there.  Hmmmmm.  I wouldn't mind going for a couple weeks or maybe a month just to see what it's like but under our present circumstances I don't see that happening any time soon.

THESE TWO APPEAR TO BE IGNORING EACH OTHER
'GET OFF THE BIRD STATION BLACKIE!!!!'
'I'M NOT LISTENING YOU REDHEADED DINGBAT'
'ALRIGHT THEN I'LL JUST TAKE MY PEANUT AND GO HOME'
THERE'S THAT DARTH VADER GRACKLEGATOR AGAIN TRYING TO SCARE A MOURNING DOVE BUT IF PUSH COMES TO SHOVE THE MOURNING  DOVE WILL PUT THE BOOTS TO THE GRACKLE
HMMMM, LOOKS LIKE SOMEBODY'S GOT THEIR BEAK IN THE AIR OVER SOMETHING AGAIN
'I GOT A SEED' ....'WELL I GOT A SEED TOO!!'
JUST LANDED WITH HIS TAIL STILL IN A FLAIR
A Blast From Our Past:)) It was a Sunday morning on December 20th, 2009 in Arizona's Cochise County when we set out to find a cowboy gunslinger's grave from the late 1800's.  We knew it was somewhere at the foot of the Chiricahua Mountains.  Today We Found The Final Resting Place Of Tombstone's Infamous.....Johnny Ringo

 A GRACKLE TAKE OFF

OOOOPS, HE DIDN'T QUITE STICK THE LANDING
Al's Music Box:)) On The Road Again is a song written and recorded by American country music singer and songwriter Willie Nelson.  In 1980 Nelson starred in his first leading role in the Jerry Schatzberg film Honeysuckle Rose, about an aging musician who fails to achieve national fame and his relationship with his family, who also are part of his band that travels throughout the United States while playing in different venues. Shortly after signing the contract, Nelson was approached during a flight by Schatzberg and the executive producer of the movie, who requested him to write a song about life on the road to use as the theme song. Nelson quickly wrote the song on a barf bag. The tune featured a "train beat".The song was released with Nelson's 1980 album Honeysuckle Rose, reaching the first position on Billboard's top country albums.  Nelson received a Grammy Award for Best Country Song, while he was nominated for Best Original Song during the 53rd Academy Awards.  (I thought this was a fitting song for Pheebs and I this morning:))

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A proud and confident genius makes a bet with a local moron.  The genius says, "Hey moron, every question I ask you that you don't know the answer, you have to give me $5. And if you ask me a question and I can't answer yours I will give you $5,000."  The moron says, "Okay."  The genius then asks, "How many continents are there in the world?" The moron doesn't know and hands over the $5.  The moron says, "Now me ask: what animal stands with two legs but sleeps with three?"  The genius tries and searches very hard for the answer but gives up and hands over the $5,000.  The genius says, "Dang it, I lost. By the way, what was the answer to your question?"  The moron hands over $5.

QUIET DAY HERE SO LET'S GO CHECK OUT AN OLD AUTHENTIC GHOST TOWN SALOON

AN EARLY WINTER'S MORN
Well here we are on day one of 2020 with already less than three hundred and sixty five days to 2021.  My oh my how time flies when it bogs down.  Onward and upward I say so let's get on with the New Year shall we.
ANOTHER PLEASANT EARLY MORNING JEEP RIDE THROUGH THE COUNTRYSIDE
Another bleak looking day but Pheebs and I saddled up Libby anyway and rode ourselves to the Bannockburn Conservation Area about four or five miles east of us.  No cars in the parking lot so nobody there, bonus.  Protected in the forest from cold winter winds we had us a nice walk despite 28F temps.  Kept my hands in my pockets while walking.
BANNOCKBURN CONSERVATION AREA
IT'S WHEEL CHAIR AND SCOOTER ACCESSIBLE IN HERE FURRY BUT YOUR GONNA HAVE TO PUT SOME SNOW TIRES ON YOUR RIG
My peanut butter of choice is Kraft's 'ONLY Peanuts' and yes the word only is capitalized on the jar.  It's an all natural peanut butter with peanuts only and that's why I like it.  No salt or sugar or other ingredients added.  Anytime I eat any other kind of popular peanut butter the very first thing I taste when I put it in my mouth is 'salt'.  Kraft now has out the same peanut butter with honey added so at the moment I am trying it out.  No complaints:))

Skies began to brighten by late morning and shortly after noon sunlight finally broke through the cloud cover.  Skies continued to clear and we ended up with a sunny afternoon.  Didn't take Pheebs and I long to get ourselves out for a walk in the sunshine.  Made my day.  By the way everybody.....Happy New Year to Y'all:))
AFTERNOON'S WALK AROUND OUR PARK'S POND
OH HOW I LOVE TO SEE THOSE BIG BLUE SKIES
SLIPPING CLOSER TO EARTH'S HORIZON THE LATE AFTERNOON SUN CASTS SHADOWS ACROSS CLUMPS OF SNOW ON THE GROUND
::An Archive Post::  For those of you who found Johnny Ringo's gravesite in my Tuesday night post you might like to see where it is rumored Johnny Ringo was last seen before his death.  And it was in a Saloon.  What's left of that Saloon is (or was) in the ghost town of Gleeson Arizona east of Tombstone and west of where Johnny Ringo's body was found.  Wyatt Erp was heard to say he was the one who shot Johnny Ringo but it's all still a big mystery as to what really happened.  We've been in Gleeson a few times and this particular day was February 14th 2009.  Here is my post for the day I stuck my camera up against a dust coated broken window and managed to get a few shots of inside the old tumble down derelict Saloon.  Today We Rambled Around In The Old Ghost Town Of Gleeson Arizona.  Be sure to check my photo album for that day to see more photos of Gleeson and that Saloon.  Gleeson - An Old Western Ghost Town.
AND BY GOLLY THERE'S THE SHADOW COWBOY HIMSELF
AND HIS SHADOW DOG TOO
::Al's Musical Favs:: Oh Bury Me Not On The Lone Prairie by The Son's Of The Pioneers.  In keeping with Tuesday nights and tonight's 'An Archive Post' I give you my all time favorite version of this song.

GROANER'S CORNER:((  A husband and wife are getting ready for bed. The wife is standing in front of a full length mirror taking a hard look at herself. "You know," she says, "I look in the mirror and I see an old woman. My face is all wrinkled, my boobs are barely above my waist, my butt is hanging out a mile. I've got fat legs and my arms are all flabby". She turns to her husband and says, "Tell me something positive to make me feel better about myself".  He thinks about it for a bit and then says, "Well... there's nothing wrong with your eyesight".

A man went to apply for a job. After filling out all of his applications, he waited anxiously for the outcome.  The employer read all his applications and said, "We have an opening for people like you."  "Oh, great," he said, "What is it?"  "It's called the door!"
