BOUSE ERRANDS, BYE BILL, AND HEADING OUT IN THE MORNING

Not many stars visible in the pre-dawn sky so I knew we were in for a cloudy start to the day.  Luckily it was not a solid cloud cover like those lifeless depressing gray days we get back in Ontario during the miserable month of November.  Cloudy skies here in the west usually have a lot of texture giving them a moody personality all there own and I visually love those kinds of skies.

EARLY MORNING SUNRISE
CAN YOU SEE MORNINGS BIG HAPPY FACE
Decided to Bouse ourselves this morning so slipped into town with a small load of laundry.  Popped into the Roadrunner General store for some milk, refilled 4 jugs of water at a roadside water station then took us for a drive around town stopping to take a photo at the Bouse Airport of a plane on the runway waiting to board passengers for a non stop international non stop night flight to Hong Kong:))

HAD NEVER BEEN INTO BOUSE'S ROADRUNNER MARKET BEFORE AND MUST SAY I WAS IMPRESSED
USUALLY THESE SMALL DUSTY LITTLE WESTERN TOWNS HAVE KINDA SMALL DUSTY LITTLE GENERAL STORES.....BUT NOT THIS ONE
FOR IT'S SIZE IT'S WELL STOCKED
ALSO FOUND THE BOUSE LAUNDROMAT TOTALLY ACCEPTABLE AND NO THAT IS NOT ME....TOO SKINNY, AND NO THAT IS NOT KELLY.....TOO HEAVY
With our Bouse errands all wrapped up it was back out to the rig under clearing skies.  Southwest skies sure don't stay cloudy long out here in these parts.  Decided to head out in the morning and head for an area we have only drove through one time years ago.
LOVELY CLOUD PATTERNS IN THE SKY THIS AFTERNOON
Drove down to Bill's site late this afternoon for a visit and to say 'good-bye.'  Although we may be back through this area later this month Bill is heading out for British Columbia a week from today so he will be gone.  A swell fella that Bill and he's been a good friend over the years.  If we make it out here again next winter we'll know right where to find him:))

A number of readers haven't been receiving the automatic email notifications for our blog lately so Kelly dug into our settings and found some things had unexplainably changed.  She worked on that for awhile and it might be Okay now.  Look to the top of our sidebar for 'Follow by Email' in case you have to re-subscribe.

SUNSET ON WHAT I THINK MIGHT BE HARQUAHALA MOUNTAIN

Don't know what kind of an internet connection we will have Tuesday night so if you don't see a post it probably means we are in a Verizon weak spot again.
GROANER'S CORNER:((  A wife was making a breakfast of fried eggs for her husband. Suddenly, her husband burst into the kitchen. "Careful," he said, "CAREFUL! Put in some more butter! Oh my GOD! You're cooking too many at once. TOO MANY! Turn them! TURN THEM NOW! We need more butter. Oh my GOD! WHERE are we going to get MORE BUTTER? They're going to STICK! Careful . CAREFUL! I said be CAREFUL! You NEVER listen to me when you're cooking! Never! Turn them! Hurry up! Are you CRAZY? Have you LOST your mind? Don't forget to salt them. You know you always forget to salt them. Use the salt. USE THE SALT! THE SALT!" The wife stared at him. "What in the world is wrong with you? You think I don't know how to fry a couple of eggs?" The husband calmly replied, "I just wanted to show you what it feels like when I'm driving."

A man was recently flying to New York. He decided to strike up a conversation with his seat mate. "I've got a great politician joke. Would you like to hear it?" "I should let you know first that I am a politician." "That's OK. I'll tell it really slow!"

FOUND US A NICE PASSPORT AMERICA RV PARK EAST OF DEMING NEW MEXICO

EASTBOUND I-10 TRAFFIC AT SUNSET EAST OF DEMING NEW MEXICO TONIGHT
It was a peacefully quiet night parked north of El Paso at the Texas Travel Information Center tn Anthony Texas.  We were the only ones there in the RV section with one lone truck over in the trucker’s area.  Our morning skies dawned clear as a bell and we sure welcomed Monday morning’s warming sunshine and big blue skies.

FUN COUNTRY RV

Our appointment at Fun Country RV was for 10 a.m. so we left our overnight spot at 9:30 arriving to our destination at 9:31.  Yes, quite a drive alright.  Although early, the friendly service manager took us right in and very quickly diagnosed the problem with our water pump so here’s the good news/bad news.  Good news is it was a blown fuse.  Bad news is they suspect the problem to be the pumps ‘pressure switch’.  The pump works but we cannot leave the pump on long or it blows the fuse.  They suggested we use the pump but turn it off after using and said we might want to wait until we get home to have the  pressure switch or pump replaced.  So that’s what we’ll do and see how we make out.  The pump is 12 years old.  At least right now we have a reasonably good working water system again.  I would give Fun Country RV two thumbs up and five stars.  They charged us a minimum fee and the whole staff was very friendly and helpful.  They had two little shop dogs and Pheebs had a blast with those two guys racing all around the place inside and out. And of course everyone there loved the Pheebs.

I think it was around 11 when we rolled out of Fun City RV heading west on I-10.  What a totally beautiful weather day it was as we cruised by Las Cruces New Mexico.  Very light traffic on I-10 towards Deming but it’s to be expected out here on the Southwest’s less congested roads, highways, and Interstates.

WE ARE NO STRANGERS TO THIS AREA AND IT WAS NICE TO SEE THE FLORIDA MOUNTAIN RANGE AGAIN
Still undecided as to where we’re going we decided to head for a Passport America RV Park I had spotted earlier on the Passport America site.  The El Rancho Lobo RV Park is located about 9 miles east of Deming New Mexico and we had to pay attention to directions on how to get there.  Although located less than a mile off I-10 on the south side the two access points off the Interstate are a few miles from the Park

CAMP HOST GAVE US A PACKET WITH LOTS OF INFO ABOUT THE SURROUNDING AREA….NICE PERK
DSC_7378
This Adult only RV Park is a true gem in the rough and we had a good feeling about it right from the time we drove through the gate. $11/night. $150/mth.  It’s not a high-ender Park with a pool and hot tubs, etc. nor is it anywhere near the other end of the scale either.  Neat and clean from what I have seen so far.  The camp host was a very friendly fellow and drove Kelly ‘and Miss Pheebs’ around on a golf cart to show them where things were.  Kelly said there is a really nice shower and laundry room.  I will make the Park rounds tomorrow and take some photos.  Just too tired today and with the warm sun beaming in the rig’s windows this afternoon I just stretched out in my recliner and totally enjoyed being right where I was just doing what I was doing.  From my chair I can see traffic going by on I-10 half a mile  or so away.   And the traffic noise is barely audible if your outside.  Totally inaudible inside.

Now for you country and western fans out there we might have something of interest here.  We were told the RV Bus Coach parked to our right a couple spaces away was originally owned my Mickey Gilley and later by Travis Tritt years ago.  The camp host was telling us about it.  We met the couple who own the Bus and they are from Nebraska.  Unfortunately they blew the engine near here but managed to make it into this RV Park.  Apparently the engine can be easily removed and the plan is for a diesel engine repair facility in Las Cruces to come out and remove the blown engine.  The coach will then be towed to Las Cruces NM where the new engine, mounted on the old engine frame, will be slid back into the bus.  The owners of the Bus said it is going to be a $12,000 bill by the time it’s all done.

It was sure nice to see those welcoming ‘New Mexico’ signs along I-10 today just south of Las Cruces.  It seemed to make our 13th annual Snow Bird journey to the great American southwest somehow official:))

GROANER’S CORNER:(( A man was driving down the road. He passed a traffic camera and saw it flash.  Astounded that he had been caught speeding when he was under the speed limit, he turned around and, going even slower, he passed by the camera.  Again, he saw it flash. He couldn't believe it!  So he turned and, going at snail's pace, he passed the camera.  AGAIN, he saw the camera flash. He guessed it must have a fault, and home he went.  Four weeks later he received 3 traffic fines in the mail, all for not wearing a seatbelt.

A little boy was attending his first wedding. After the service, his cousin asked him, "How many women can a man marry?" "Sixteen," the boy responded. His cousin was amazed that he knew the answer so quickly. "How do you know that?" "Easy," the little boy said. "All you have to do is add it up, like the Preacher said: 4 better, 4 worse, 4 richer, 4 poorer."
