ANOTHER COLD DREARY DAY BUT I WARMED IT UP WITH A FEW PHOTOS FROM UTAH’S BRYCE CANYON
TUESDAY MORNING IN BAYFIELD’S PIONEER PARK
So after publishing my Tuesday night post I am in my cozy warm corner of our sunroom comfortably ensconced in my big old leather recliner with Kindle in hand totally engrossed in my reading. Suddenly I hear Kelly’s voice coming from the living room, ‘why is there all this smoke in the house’?? Smoke, what smoke?? I pop out of my chair and head for the hallway and look towards the living room. Holy smokes where did all this smoke come from!!!! And why aren’t the smoke alarms going off?? We quickly scurried about looking for the smoke source but at first to no avail. It wasn’t a bad smoke smell like burning wood or wires or plastics, etc. but it was a familiar smell. Like burning wax or something. ‘BINGO’ I burn scented candles sometimes after supper. Oh-Oh, I had 3 of them going in the sunroom right beside my recliner and returning to the sunroom I could clearly see the haze of smoke alright. On closer inspection one of the candles which I had sitting on top or our Vermont Casting free standing stove had leaked wax down into the hot stove itself and it was that dripping wax which was giving off the smoke. There I had been sitting right beside it 3 feet away and had not noticed the room slowly filling with smoke. I don’t think there was ever a danger of fire but that hot wax was sure sending up a smoke screen. Moved the candle, turned off the stove, opened some windows, and everything was soon fine again. But we sure did have a waxy mess to clean up today. The wax had run down the stove to the tile floor and splattered on a nearby carpet. Kelly used a hot iron with a paper towel to lift that wax out of the carpet.

These cold gray November days are certainly a challenge and as tempting as it is to stay in where it's warm and comfortable my restless nature continues to pull me out the door each morning for a few hours. Last year at this time our November weather was much better and of course we had something to look forward to with our Southwest departure coming up December 22nd. Oh well, after spending over 60 years in cold Canadian winters I guess I had better feel grateful to at least have had the great opportunity to spend these past dozen years with countless memorable winter experiences in the warmer climate of the great American Southwest.

It was another Goderich harbor run for Pheebs and I this morning with a cold stiff wind off the lake bringing in light snow flurries. Roads were snow covered in spots and visibility wasn’t too bad. A short stop at Walmart and we were home again. Some people would think this weather is just fine but I am certainly not one of them. What a drag and it’s not even officially winter yet:((
COLD AND BLUSTERY TODAY AND I’M GLAD I GOT THE BIGGER TIRES ON A WEEK AGO
EVEN THE CANADA GEESE DIDN’T FEEL LIKE FLYING THIS MORNING

HIGHWAY 21 (THE BLUEWATER HIGHWAY) RUNS RIGHT THROUGH BAYFIELD
Downloaded me a few more books to my Kindle today. I wished Amazon or the book publisher or somebody would would mark each and every book with a simple label or tag stating whether the book is fact or fiction. I’ve mistakenly downloaded a couple fiction accounts centering around the Battle of Britain and find that extremely annoying. I can generally tell within a few pages whether the book is a factual account or not. I have no interest in fictionalized writing regarding history.
HEADING HOME TUESDAY MORNING
THE OLD HOMESTEAD TRAILER PARK NEAR US HAS RV SITES AVAILABLE IN SEASON

Okay, let’s get out of this dreary weather for a few minutes and thanks to Facebook’s reminder today we can do just that with a short trip to Utah’s Bryce Canyon where we were exactly 11 years ago today:))
DID YOU SEE KELLY??
GROANER’S CORNER:(( Signs that You Are Getting Old::
You sink your teeth in a steak and they stay there.
You turn off the lights for economical reasons, not romantic ones.
You read the obituaries to find eligible women.
Old ladies offer to help you cross the street.
Everything hurts and what doesn't hurt, doesn't work
College kids call you mister.
The gleam in your eye is from the sun hitting your bifocals.
A beautiful girl walks by and nothing happens.
After painting the town red, you need to take a long rest before applying a second coat.
It takes you all night to do what you used to do all night long.
You have all the answers but nobody is asking you the questions.
After climbing the ladder of success and reaching the top, you realize that it was leaning on the wrong wall.
You sit in a rocking chair and can't get it going.
The best part of the day is over when the alarm clock rings.
All the names in your little black book end with MD.
You get all your exercise acting as a pallbearer for your friends who exercised.

“My sister fell in love with a circus trapeze artist. At first, we all thought she was attracted to his net worth, but she said it was his gravity-defying leaps of thought. They are both flying high now.”

A kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they drew. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's artwork. As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was.The girl replied, "I'm drawing God."The teacher paused and said, "but no one knows what God looks like."Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing the girl replied, "They will in a minute."
