OPTOMETRIST APPOINTMENT AND I ORDERED ME UP SOME NEW GLASSES

BUMBLE BEE ON A CLOVER FLOWER
A delightfully cool 50 degrees when Pheebs and I headed out this morning.  Bonus.  A sunny but hazy morning with the weather people saying the slight haze is from forest fires in South Eastern Manitoba and North Western Ontario.  With an Optometrist appointment at 11:30 Pheebs and I kept our morning drive short.

HEADING OUT FOR A MORNING CRUISE
MILKWEED IN A GRAIN FIELD
EVEN DROVE OURSELVES THROUGH A SWAMP THIS MORNING
Leaving Pheebs at home I headed for my eye appointment at Clinton's Huron Optometric.  With the exception of cataracts the optometrist said my eyes are in fine condition.  Said they can't do anything about the cataracts until they get bad enough.  That could be a few years away yet.  My prescription has changed so I decided to get myself some new glasses.  The pair I have now I picked up in Wickenburg Arizona about 5 years ago and the glasses lady in Goderich's Huron Optometric this afternoon said they are really scratched up.  Well that came as no surprise.  My new glasses will be ready in about a week and a half.  Although they will improve my vision somewhat I will still have to put up with the cataract vision problem for a few more years yet:((
AFTER A STOP AT  THE GODERICH OPTOMETRIC PLACE I TOOK A SWING DOWN AROUND THE HARBOUR

Taking a temporary break from my many World War 2 history oriented books I decided to switch gears for my next book.  Staying with non-fiction of course I settled on a book by Marc Meyers entitled 'Anatomy Of A Song'.  It's the oral history of 45 iconic hits that changed Rock, R&B, and Pop.  A behind the scenes and backstory of how a number of hit songs all came about and took shape.  I find it fascinating to read how these songs were written and the circumstances involved around getting them from the 'idea stage' to the 'on air' stage.  Not only a lot of work involved but a whole lot of luck as well.  I've just started the book which begins in the 50's and goes from there.  Truly amazing to see how each hit song came to be.  I'm at Dion's song 'Run Around Sue' at the moment.  For me with my interest in music this is great stuff...……….
GROANER'S CORNER:((  An elderly man went to his doctor and said, "Doc, I think I'm getting senile. Several times lately, I have forgotten to zip up.""That's not senility," replied the doctor. "Senility is when you forget to zip down."

I'm gonna go stand outside, so if anybody asks can you just say I am outstanding.

A policeman stops a lady and asks for her license. He says "Lady, it says here that you should be wearing glasses.  "The woman answered "Well, I have contacts.  "The policeman replied "I don't care who you know! You're still getting a ticket!"

'OH-NO' A THIN PINK LINE ACROSS THE TOP OF MY HEAD

After a haircut one day last week I looked in the mirror and saw something I had never seen before.  A thin pink line ran from my forehead back up and over the top of my head.  What!!  Looking closer I was left with the only conclusion I didn't want to conclude.  My hair is thinning and I am slowly losing it.  I've been aware of this steady follicle decline for quite some time and have had a small bald spot for a few years now but that spot was at the back of my head and I never really noticed it much.  So if I couldn't readily see it I didn't really have it, right.  I've always had a thick head of hair which I inherited from my Dad's side of the family.  Had I inherited my hair from my Mother's side of the family I would have been mainly bald years ago.  Hope I never get to the stage where I have to do one of those big 'comb over' jobs I sometimes see.  So does this mean I might go out some day in a grand blaze of baldness after all.  I wonder if maybe a little bit of cow manure added to my shampoo might spur some extra growth.  If so, I certainly do know where to get me some.  Hey wait a minute.....if this hair loss keeps up maybe I won't even need shampoo anymore eh.........

OUR DAY LILIES ARE BLOOMING
Greatly relieved by mornings lower 50's temperatures Pheebs and were off to see if we could round ourselves up a few photos for the day.  Cool enough to wear a light jacket and have a touch of heat on in the Jeep as we made our way to Goderich with the front windows down.  Dispensed with the jacket about an hour later when temps began to rise.  So reminiscent of an Arizona winter.
SPRAYING THE BEANFIELD
I'M WONDERING IF THIS SIGN LEADING TO GODERICH'S BEACH IS NEW....DON'T REMEMBER SEEING IT BEFORE

MONDAY MORNING AT THE BEACH
ALWAYS NICE TO SEE THE COAST GUARD OUT AND ABOUT
NICE TO SEE FELLOW RV'ERS ENJOYING THEMSELVES AT GODERICH'S ROTOARY COVE BEACH
KAYAK RENTALS AT ROTARY COVE
A short walk east of Goderich and that was about it.  With temps coming up and bugs coming out there was no point in making it a long walk and ending up being a big bug bitten sweat ball.
We haven't heard any more about the supposed sale of our Park and even the usual local rampant rumours seem to be somewhat subdued.  I'm hoping the powers that be will at least be considerate of the home owners here and keep us informed.  We don't need any more strangers suddenly showing up at our door saying the Park has been sold, sign here, and give me two cheques.  And that is exactly what happened to me!!
With summer's heat upon us now we have slipped over the top of Springs lushness in the gardens.  Oh we have lots of green everywhere and summer flowers are blooming but those rich vibrant fresh greens of June from now to Autumn will take on a slightly harder, slightly stressed, and slightly darker color.

PHEEBS LOVES ROLLING IN OUR CLOVER LAWN
Usually each year by now we have maybe a dozen or more frogs in our front yard pond but up until this morning I haven't seen a single one and when I did see two I was surprised.  I have noticed a decline in frogs these past few years.  Not only here but in the Hullett Marsh as well.
Not many birds at the feeder anymore but I still put some feed out every day.  It seems the Grackles have taken over and aside from a few Blue Jays, Mourning Doves, and a pair of Cardinals there isn't much action going on in the yard.  I also put out seed on top of a few stumps for Little Red, Squirrely, and Chippy the Chipmunk.  And I continue to feed our two Goldfish as well.
As you may have noticed I still struggle with the 'Blogger' format with every post.  Sometimes Blogger unexpectantly changes the size of the printing on me, changes font colors, and miss-spaces my photos.  Always an aggravation but at least it doesn't shut itself down for days on end with code 400 errors like Live Writer had a habit of doing from time to time.  Too bad because Live Writer had by far a superior blog format program.

And a friendly reminder again....I do not accept Facebook 'Friend Requests' due to being hacked a couple times doing that.  I'm not an avid Facebook user and have a tendency to avoid it.
GROANER'S CORNER:((  A priest, a doctor, and a professional golfer were waiting one morning for a particularly slow group of golfers. GOLFER: What's with these guys? We must have been waiting for 15 minutes! DOCTOR: I don't know but I've never seen such ineptitude! PRIEST: Hey, here comes the greenskeeper. Let's have a word with him. Say George, what's with that group ahead of us? They're rather slow aren't they? GEORGE: Oh yes. That's a group of blind firefighters. They lost their sight while saving our clubhouse last year. So we let them play here anytime free of charge. (Silence) PRIEST: That's so sad. I think I will say a special prayer for them tonight. DOCTOR: Good idea. And I'm going to contact my ophthalmologist buddy and see if there's anything he can do for them. GOLFER: Why can't these guys play at night?
