'HEY DAD I TOT I TA AN ELEPHANT'

For the third morning in the pre-dawn hours I awoke to the sounds of a snowplow going by.  Had I not heard it the flashing amber light blinking off our inside living room wall would surely have alerted me anyway.  A snowplow/blower going by in the wee hours of the morning could only mean one thing.  We had another significant snowfall during the night.  And guess what......at the time of posting this night it's, wait for it...…….snowing:(((((!!
'HEY DAD I TOT I TA AN ELEPHANT OVER THERE'
'I DID I DID I TOLD YA I DID'
FOLKS WERE BUSY IN GODERICH THIS MORNING WITH THEIR SNOW BLOWERS
PROBABLY NOT A LOT OF FOLKS KNOW WE HAVE A MOUNTAIN RANGE HERE IN SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO......THAT'S MOUNT WALLY ON THE FAR RIGHT
FOR RICHARD AND GAYLE
I again started the outside part of my day on the end of my snow shovel.  Oh Gee so what else is new.  On snow covered roads under heavily overcast skies with the Jeep still in four wheel drive Pheebs and I headed north up Porters Hill line to Goderich.  Coffee to go at McD's and down to the harbor we went.  My favorite old tramp steamer Mississagi was in the middle of the harbor in the process of swinging itself around to line itself up with salt dock.

THE MISSISSAGI ABOUT HALF WAY THROUGH HER TURN
MISSISSAGI'S PROPELLER CHURNS UP THE HARBOR WATERS
AND YOU CAN SEE IT'S SNOWING
THE MISSISSAGI INCHES TOWARDS THE SALT DOCK AND IT'S TRUE I KEEP SEEING HUMPHREY BOGART STANDING THERE ALONG THE AFT RAIL
Heading along Lake Huron's shoreline on Cove Road we stopped briefly at the dog walking area.  Noticed a few ice formations along the shoreline caused by onshore winds and waves.  Snapped a few quick pics and hastily retreated back to the Jeep's warm interior.
NOTICED THESE ICE FORMATIONS NEAR THE DOG WALKING AREA
A stop at Walmart for a few things before leaving Goderich heading home.  Snowflakes in the air but nothing serious.  Home again I finished up some more snow shoveling before slipping inside to our warm cozy sunroom.  In my opinion the best part about winter is that warm comfy feeling one gets from being inside all toasty and warm.  In my case I am so fortunate to have this nice sunroom with it's big windows where I can readily see the outside but do not have to be a part of the freezing cold temperatures outside.
LET THE COLD WINTER WINDS BLOW, US GUYS ARE ALL TOASTY AND WARM IN FRONT OF THE FIREPLACE
TO HAVE A BETTER VIEW OF THE BIRDS I NOW MOVE THE MONITOR OFF TO THE SIDE DURING THE DAY AND AFTER THIS PHOTO I DID MOVE THAT LIGHT OUT OF THE WAY AS WELL
Last summer I had quite a time keeping a certain little red squirrel off our bird station.  It was a long battle between 'Little Red' and I before I was finally able to deter his determined efforts.  Almost ended up cutting down have our front yard shrubs but at last with the cutting off of a final branch the war was over and Little Red never again scooped all the birdseed off the feeder.  Little Red is probably in early hibernation now because I have not seen him since the snow came.  However, I am now doing battle with a couple black squirrels who are bent on emptying the four additional bird feeders I have put up.  I had hoped the black Squirrels would have begun their hibernation as well.  But not so the case.
THIS FURRY LITTLE VARMINT IS SURE TESTING MY TOLERANCE
HERE HE IS POISED TO JUMP ONTO ANOTHER BIRD FEEDER
IN THE PHOTO BELOW BLACKIE IS AT TOP LEFT AND THE SUET FEEDER IS AT BOTTOM RIGHT AND YEP HE LEAPED FROM THAT BRANCH RIGHT ONTO THE SUET FEEDER
With all the active birds in our front yard at the moment there are many photo opportunities.  However, I have a small two-fold problem.  First, I am shooting through two panes of glass and the vacuum seal between those two panes is compromised in two of those five windows with the window directly in front of me being one of them.  It's a bit like shooting through a very soft mist so images have a tendency to be on the soft side.
THIS BLUE JAY IS GETTING RIGHT INTO THE SEEDS
'HOW YA DOIN DOWN THERE CUTIE'
A fellow RVing Blogger friend of ours is going through a difficult time at the moment.  Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer which has spread to his liver George Yates from Our Awesome Travels just this afternoon in London's Victoria Hospital underwent surgery to have a stent put in.  On November 10th George had these words.  Hang in there George you have a lot of people out here on your side.
OOOPS GUESS I FORGOT TO TAKE THE REST OF THE LABEL OFF THE BIRD FEEDER
GROANER'S CORNER:((  A tough old cowboy once counseled his grandson that if he wanted to live a long life, the secret was to sprinkle a little gunpowder on his oatmeal every morning.  The grandson did this religiously and he lived to the age of 93.When he died, he left 14 children, 28 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and a fifteen foot hole in the wall of the crematorium.
