IT SEEMS EVERYONE'S FUTURE PLANS ARE OUT THE WINDOW AT THE MOMENT

LAKE HURON'S ICY SHORELINE
With an early morning Arctic wind chill factor of 12F it was a totally 'Brrrrrr' northeast wind that numbed my fingers to the bone earlier today while taking a few photos along Lake Huron's icy shoreline in Goderich.  Of course I had warm mitts in the Jeep but I never seem to be smart enough to put them on.
SPOTTED THIS FLOTILLA OF TEARDROP TRAILERS TODAY

THEY ARE ON THEIR WAY FROM SOMEWHERE TO SOMEWHERE ELSE
I'M STILL TRYING TO GET USED TO THE SITE OF EMPTY TIM HORTONS COFFEE SHOP PARKING LOTS
Under sunny Saturday skies Pheebs and I made our way along practically deserted roads to Goderich.  Figured it might be a good morning to squeak down to the harbor beach area and see what I could see regarding the bank restoration.  Hadn't been down there for awhile because of the reconstruction.  I was hoping to make it out to Rotary Cove to check on the dog walking area.  Luckily nobody around anywhere so that is exactly where we ended up.  Happy to see work has finally begun along that eroded section of shoreline.  Cracked off a few photos and quickly hopped into the warm Jeep.  Took the scenic way home through Saltford and Benmiller and made it back home before 10 a.m.
AT THE DOG WALKING AREA IN GODERICH'S ROTARY COVE
LARGE BOULDERS IN THE FOREGROUND ARE THE FIRST OF MANY MORE TO COME IN REPAIRING THAT ERODED SHORELINE UP AHEAD
THAT LARGE COLORFUL ROCK ONCE SAT AT THE DOG WALKING ENTRANCE AND I'M REALLY HOPING THE WORK CREW FROM ART'S LANDSCAPING DOING THIS WORK WILL PULL THAT ROCK BACK OUT OF THE LAKE AND MAKE IT PART OF THE NEW RESTORATION LANDSCAPING
EVEN PHEEBS IS ADMIRING NATURE'S ICE SCULPTURES
I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT THIS WAS ENCASED IN ICE
With an abundance of sunshine this afternoon it was difficult to stay inside so bundled myself up, slipped outside, and continued hauling summer lawn ornaments, etc. out of our wooden shed.  Nice to look out our sunroom windows now and at least see a few globs of color here and there.  I like color:))
MAYBE WE SHOULD GET A CAMPAIGN GOING TO 'SAVE THE ROCK'
Aside from less traffic on the roads and the empty Tim Hortons parking lot in downtown Goderich one wouldn't even know there is so much turmoil going around in the world right now.  The changes here are subtle and mainly behind closed doors.  Aside from a few small variations and precautions it is still very much life as usual here at our house.  Even if at some point I'm forced to stay home I can still find lots of photos right here around the house or in the forest nearby.
LARGE BOULDERS IN PLACE NORTH OF GODERICH'S WATER TREATMENT PLANT
LOOKING SOUTH ALONG  LAKE HURON'S SHORELINE
I THINK THEY HAVE DONE A GREAT JOB IN BUILDING UP THE SHORELINE HERE IN FRONT OF THE BEACH STREET STATION
A LOT OF WORK TO GET ALL THOSE BIG ROCKS PLACED JUST RIGHT
EVEN A LOW PROFILE STONE BREAKWATER TO BREAK UP INCOMING WAVES
THEY HAVE EXTENDED THIS AREA OUT INTO THE LAKE A BIT AND I THINK WHEN THE LANDSCAPING IS DONE IT'S GOING TO LOOK REAL NICE....BEACH STREET STATION IN THE BACKGROUND
ONLY LAKE ICE VISIBLE IN THIS PHOTO IS AT THE HARBOR MOUTH TO THE LEFT OF THE SALT MINE
Kept our afternoon walk short.  Not too cold for Pheebs with all her fur but way too cold for me.  I'm hoping this is the last of our 'severely cold' weather now as we draw ever closer to April.  Seeings how Winter officially ended a few days ago I guess I can now say I made it through.  Not with a lot of help from myself sometimes but I did make it.  Was it as bad as I had anticipated it would be?  Yes and no.  Do I want to spend another full winter here in the cold?  No I do not!!  So what we will do I don't know and with this topsy turvy world right now I'm not sure anyone knows what they are going to do.  It seems most everyone's future plans are out the window at the moment.
YEP, US GUYS WAS OUT FOR AN AFTERNOON WALK ALRIGHT

A husband stepped on one of those penny scales that tell you your fortune and weight and dropped in a coin. "Listen to this," he said to his wife, showing her a small, white card. "It says I'm energetic, bright, resourceful and a great lover." "Yeah," his wife nodded, "and it has your weight wrong, too!"

I HOPE TO CONTINUE BRINGING NATURE PHOTOS TO MY READERS

AT A FARM JUST AROUND THE CORNER FROM OUR PARK
Warm windy rains came in the night bringing summerlike 50F+ temperatures early this morning.  Didn't last long though as temps plummeted throughout the morning and we ended up with a cold windy day with temps finally falling over 20 degrees to well below freezing.
I BELIEVE THAT TO BE A HAIRY WOODPECKER ON THE LEFT AND A DOWNIE WOODPECKER ON THE RIGHT
A change of routine this morning.  Had to stay close to the phone for a 9 a.m. call from my Nurse Practitioner.  I would normally have gone to the Maitland Valley Health Clinic for this appointment but of course these are not normal times any more.  Had a shower, combed my hair, put on a clean shirt, straightened my moustache and waited in my sunroom recliner for the phone to ring.  And ring right on time it did.  Not being able to do any real time things like blood pressure and stuff it was basically an ask and answer session.  I might be called in sometime next week for a blood pressure test so we'll see.  All depends whether the medical clinic decides to stay open.  I think my Nurse Practitioner may have been calling from her home.
SOME LIGHT FOG ON THIS WARM WET MORNING
Kelly had a short grocery list and I had a prescription to pick up so all three of us were off to Goderich's Walmart with Pheebs riding shotgun in the front seat.  Rained all the way.  Pheebs and I waited in the Jeep while Kelly slipped in to Walmart.  She said everything looked normal in there with the exception of staff wiping down each shopping cart.  I didn't see anything out of the ordinary outside the store either.  Everybody I saw seemed to be acting normally and not panic buying.  No line-ups.  Majority of carts coming out were only half or a quarter full. We were back home by noon.
THIS LITTLE SQUIRREL SURE HAD IT'SELF A BIG DRINK HERE
As predicted our warm temperatures plummeted throughout the day and I didn't have any desire to go outside.  Waking up from an hour's snooze around three I looked out the window to see it snowing.  What an insult to the first day of Spring:((  Sunday is supposed to be sunny and 37F and temperatures continue to rise after that:))
I LIKE THIS PERSON'S LITTLE LOG CABIN BUT NOT SO MUCH THE LANDSCAPING:((
THAT'S A PRETTY NICE SHELTERED PLACE FOR FARM KIDS TO AWAIT THE SCHOOLBUS
I LIKE THIS LITTLE PLACE
With each waking day seeming to be more serious than the day before with this Covid-19 dilemma these are truly troubling times.  As seemingly safe as we appear to be for the moment in our little protective Bayfield bubble we also know our community could be turned right upside down at any moment.  In the meantime I plan to be out on the country roads with Pheebs each and every morning enjoying the scenery and gathering photos for my blog.  If readers can't get out to be a part of nature I'm hoping I can continue bringing nature to my readers...………..
I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A PAIR OF DOWNIE WOODPECKERS WITH THE MALE ON THE LEFT
GROANER'S CORNER:((  I love bacon. Sometimes I eat it twice a day.  It helps take my mind off the terrible chest pains I keep getting.

I was watching Star Wars with my daughter. She asked why Luke was climbing inside a Tauntaun. I said to keep warm.  She asked, "How warm is it inside?" I said, "Lukewarm."
