THAT CAN SOMETIMES BE A BIT OF TRICKY BUSINESS

A CONFUSING HURON COUNTY HORSE CLUSTER ON ORCHARD LINE
Another really hot one but Pheebs and I rolled out early enough to take advantage of morning's slightly cooler temperature.  We headed straightaway north to Goderich's Rotary Cove beach where I knew there would be a nice cooling breeze coming in off the lake.  And there was.  Not many week-enders there yet so we were able to spend a little quiet time by the water before cars began rolling in.

SUNDAY MORNING PADDLE ON THE CALM WATERS OF LAKE HURON
LOOKS LIKE ART'S LANDSCAPING IS DOING A RIGHT GOOD BANG UP JOB WITH THE NEW BOARDWALK BETWEEN ST. CHRISTOPHER'S BEACH AND ROTARY COVE
I THINK THIS BOARDWALK IS BEING BUILT MUCH STRONGER THAN THE ORIGINAL ONE
NOTICE HOW CONCRETE, CRUSHED STONE, AND DRAINAGE PIPE, ARE BEING INCORPORATED INTO THE STURDY CONSTRUCTION
NICE TO SEE BENCHES ALONG THE WAY FOR FOLKS TO SIT
We took the scenic countryside route home snapping a few pics along the way.  A beautiful looking summer's morn with very little traffic anywhere.  A couple hay wagons and that was about it.

STRAW BALES
HAY-STRAW BALER ON THE LEFT WITH A HAY-STRAW RAKE ON RIGHT....THE RAKE RAKE'S THE ROWS OF STRAW UP AND THE BALER COMES ALONG NEXT AND TURNS THE LOOSE STRAW INTO BALES
AND THESE WAGONS ARE WHAT THE WHEAT KEARNELS ARE LOADED INTO
Home by 10 Kelly was busy inside the rig trying out different curtains and stuff.  The curtains you see in the pics below may not be the one's staying in the coach.  Despite the building heat I decided to check out a few system things on the rig.  Hooked up to shore power and that worked fine except for a few of the usual small ker-fuffles.  It's a manual water fill on this rig so I added some water to the fresh water tank.  The rig's water pump works perfectly.  Generator fires up with just a touch of the on-switch.  Tomorrow we'll check out the propane system and see how it goes.  That can sometimes be a tricky bit of business getting things to work if it hasn't been used for awhile.
HERE THE CURTAINS ARE OPEN
HERE THEY ARE CLOSED.....BY CLOSING THEM AT NIGHT THEY KEEP EITHER WARMTH OR COOLNESS IN THE CENTER PART OF THE COACH.....NO NEED TO HEAT THE BIG SPACE OVER THE CAB AND YES THE CURTAINS HAVE TO BE HEMMED IF THEY ARE STAYING
THIS CURTAIN BLOCKS OFF THE BIG BED IN THE CORNER
WELL I GUESS YOU KNOW WHO'S GOT FIRST DIBS ON MY CHAIR
I think Pheebs and I might head over to Clinton with the rig in the morning.  There is a free dump station near the new police station and I want to check out the gray and black dump valves to make sure everything is copasetic in that department.  We might pick up some propane along the way as well just to make sure there are no surprises in that department either.  Seems to be some recent confusion as to what tanks can be filled and what tanks can't.  We'll see.
GROANER'S CORNER:((  Oh Those McNallys::
McNally was taking his first plane ride, flying over the Rocky Mountains. The stewardess handed him a piece of chewing gum. "It's to keep your ears from popping at high altitudes," she explains.  When the plane landed McNally rushed up to her. "Miss," he said,  "I'm meetin' me wife right away. How do I get the gum out of me ears?"
Just a week before that McNally was standing in front of Cohan's Tavern when he saw a driverless car rolling slowly down the street. He ran to the car, jumped in, and pulled on the emergency brake with a jerk.
Kelly got out and very proudly said to the man approaching him, "I stopped it!"
"I know, you idiot!" said the man. "I was pushing it!"
And just a month before that, McNally's daughter knelt in the confessional and said, "Bless me, Father, for I have sinned."  "What is it, child?"
"Father, I have committed the sin of vanity. Twice a day I gaze at myself in the mirror and tell myself how beautiful I am."
The priest turned, took a good look at the girl, and said, "My dear, I have good news. That isn't a sin - it's only a mistake."

OUR RIG'S INTERIOR RENOVATION PROJECT IS NOW COMPLETE

The day heated up waaaay too fast for Pheebs and I so we again cut our Jeep ride short.  But not before a shady walk between a row of trees and a cornfield.  It's not a long walk but it is a walk we often do alongside Pavilion Road southeast of Bayfield.  We were home well before 10 a.m. and I headed inside out of the heat.  Not too much difference between hot summer days and cold winter days.  Either extreme is equally unhealthy in the outdoor exercise department unless one is some kind of extremist.  We're not.

FINALLY, MY FIRST MONARCH BUTTERFLY OF THE SEASON
Puttered about a bit in the carport sorting through vehicle cleaning supplies.  Richard messaged to say our rig was done so Pheebs, Kelly and I headed right on over.  Using the dining room table that came out of the rig Richard cut it in half and made an excellent shelf/table for beside my chair.  It even incorporates an original built in cup holder.  The table fits in perfectly.  He also bolted in two pieces of steel under the manual sidestep firming it up.  Interior curtain rods are now in place as well so we'll soon be hanging some nice curtains which will serve several practical purposes.  This basically completes the main inside renovations.  We have a back-up camera ordered and it should be here Tuesday.  Richard and I may pop into Jenkins Auto Recyclers north of Goderich and see if we can find us a stock 2002 Chevy radio to replace the hard to see small Japanese radio in the rig's dash.  Aging eyes need things bigger not smaller.

I WAS CLOSE BY IF I WAS NEEDED

AN ACTUAL FROG IN OUR FROGLESS FROG POND THIS SUMMER
A change of routine this morning due in part to a temporary break in our continuing hot and humid weather.  Instead of Pheebs and I heading out in the Jeep we piled into the Winniegator and headed the short distance over to Richard's place.  Even hotter weather is on the way so figured we had better take advantage of this morning's slightly cooler temperatures.
Ever the innovative engineer Richard, as well as ourselves were looking forward to a few more renovations in our rig.
WELL IF NOTHING ELSE AT LEAST WE HAVE A RESIDENT PORCELIN FROG
Arriving at 9 Richard wasn't long in getting at things.  He took apart and fixed our bathroom fan, replaced some grill work around our micro-wave, removed some remaining dining room table hardware from the wall, and measured things up for a new shelf/table beside my chair under the dining/living room window.  I busied myself outside cleaning and waxing the bottom driver's side section of the Motorhome.  I was close by if6 needed.  Heavy on the word 'if'.  Heat was building so we broke for coffee around 11.  Kelly rolled in from Goderich with some curtain rod hardware which Richard will also install.  Gayle came out and we all had ourselves a chin wag in our coach.  Leaving the rig there Kelly, Pheebs, and I came home shortly after 1 p.m.  There was no going back outside for a few hours except to straighten up the cooler shady carport a bit.  Too hot!!  With shadows lengthening after supper enabling us to stay out of the Sun, Pheebs and I did finally manage ourselves a walk back through our Park's forest.

It was later in the afternoon when I realized I didn't have any photos for tonight's post so I had to take myself outside on a wee Safari around our front yard.  I was actually surprised to see a frog in our frog pond.  For some unknown reason our pond has remained mainly frogless this summer.
GROANER'S CORNER:(( Brad and Mike are two old retired widowers who reside close to each other and do constant welfare checks on each other. Much of their relationship is based on pragmatism rather than real friendship or personal affection.
One day, as he drinks his morning coffee, Mike opens the morning paper and turns to the obituaries page. He gets the shock of his life when he sees his own obituary in the column. He realizes that the query for info on him by the local newspaper several months earlier, was in preparation for this event. He correctly surmises that it is a mistaken entry from their database.
It still excites and rankles him, so he calls Brad up.
"Brad, are you up yet?" asks Mike.
Brad sleepily answers, "Yeah, but I'm only now starting my coffee."
"Brad, open the newspaper to page 31."
"Why, what's in the paper?"
"Brad, get the paper and open it to page 31 NOW!"
"Ok, Ok, I've got the paper here, so what's in page 31?"
"Brad, open the paper to page 31 already!"
"All right, don't be such a pain so early in the morning already. So, what's on page 31 that's so important?"
"Brad, look at the bottom of column 4."
"Why? What's that story on?"
"Brad, read the story on the bottom of the column already!"
"OK, OK, I'll start reading the column if you stop yelling in my ear!"
The paper rustles for a few seconds, then a long silent pause ensues...
Finally, Brad comes on the line quietly and fearfully asks, "So Mike, where are you calling me from right now?"
