MAYBE FROM NONSENSE TO SOMESENSE (NO THIS IS NOT POLITICAL)

Thought we might have a substantial accumulation of snow on the ground this morning but that was not the case.  Under a weather advisory, 'Snow Squall Watch' Pheebs and I headed east to Clinton's Tim Hortons for a drive-thru coffee.  The coffee shop is near a high school so of course, on this freezing cold day, there were some of the kids prancing down the street in shorts with icy winds driving our 33F temps down to 25F.  Yes, I well remember my utter foolishness at that age as well.

THE OLD RADAR DOME STILL STANDS
From Clinton, we wandered east a short ways before swinging south and back west again.  Stopped at the Bannockburn Conservation Area but the morning's icy winds made it too freezing cold for a hike.  We did get out for a short walk around the parking lot though.  'Brrrrrr'
BECAUSE OF THE ICY COLD WIND WE DIDN'T CONTINUE ANY FURTHER

From Bannockburn, with a few light squalls coming in off the lake we headed for home and once again therein ended another cold and gray day.  Wished I was more optimistic about this upcoming winter.........but I'm not.  If you don't see a post from me every day from here on in just know that I will try again the following day.

SOON ALL THIS WILL BE COVERED IN A BLANKET OF WHITE SNOW

With my reading still in the mainstream of UFOs and Extraterrestrials, I just finished 'Unknown Skies' by Leslie Kean along with 'A New World' by Leslie Streiber as well as 'The Dual Soul Connection' by Suzy Hansen and Dr. Rudy Schilde.  I am currently reading 'The Communion Letters' by Whitley Streiber and the late Ann Streiber.  These books go far beyond the frivolous little green men from Mars theories.   Along the way I stumbled across an interesting video about an Anti-Gravity Theory regarding the propulsion of UFOs.  In this current era of so much nonsense, maybe this actually makes somesense.

NOT MUCH

Not much going on today folks.  Even the Canada Geese were grounded this morning and below the aftermath of Sunday's strong winds.

WE HAD US A WICKED WEATHER DAY

Cold, windy, and pouring rain so it was a short drive into and around Bayfield this morning.  Took a few photos and came home.

A DRIVE DOWN AROUND BAYFIELD'S MARINA AREA

We had us a wicked weather day but we knew it was on its way with yesterday's wind warnings.  Pretty much rained all day and the first big winds roared in shortly after 1 p.m. knocking power out to parts if not all of Bayfield.  Amazingly enough, we were fine except for a snap power off and on around 4:30 p.m.  Just enough to knock all our clocks and timers out of whack.  The winds were also accompanied by lightning and thunder, sunshine, blue skies, and more dark clouds bringing in even more high wind gusts.  Reports on our 6 o'clock news talked of damage along the Lake Erie shoreline with some people being evacuated.  Goderich had already pre-closed its Rotary Cove road knowing there was a good possibility of more damage and flooding.  Bad November storms are notorious here around the Great Lakes for sinking a number of ships over the years.  Some may remember the Edmund Fitzgerald sunk on November 10th, 1975.

As I was trying to pack for vacation, my 3-year-old daughter was having a wonderful time playing on the bed. At one point, she said, "Mommy, look at this," and stuck out two of her fingers.  Trying to keep her entertained, I reached out and stuck her fingers in my mouth and said, "Mommy gonna eat your fingers!" pretending to eat them before I rushed out of the room again.  When I returned, my daughter was standing on the bed staring at her fingers with a devastated look on her face.  I said, "What's wrong honey?"  "Mommy, where's my booger?"

HOMESICK FOR OUR RV TRAVELS TO THE GREAT AMERICAN SOUTHWEST

I was reminded of a big blue Arizona sky as Pheebs and I rolled through our sunny countryside this morning.  I also thought, 'If only'.  In past years we would already be there rumbling along across the rough and tumble desert floors, up into and over the surrounding mountains and down the other side.  Yes, I was feeling very homesick for the Great American Southwest today.  If only, if only.

A FEW SPLASHES OF AUTUMN COLOR CAN STILL BE FOUND HERE AND THERE
Back to the reality of now, it was a nice Saturday morning we had with no room for complaining on my part.  And we were able to have Pheebs window down all the way, with a little help from the Jeep's heater of course.

NO AUTUMN COLORS LEFT ALONG THIS BUSH LINE
Our travels took us to McTaggarts Cemetery somewhere northeast of Exeter Ontario.  It's a hilltop cemetery and always a quiet place for a walk.  So, for a walk through the scenic cemetery we did go.

OUR MORNING'S DESTINATION

SOME OF THE PEOPLE IN THIS CEMETERY WERE BORN IN THE 1700'S
I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE CLOVER LIKE FLOWERS BLOOMING IN THE CEMETERY
As is my daily pattern we were again home by mid to late morning.  Retreated inside out of the cold 39F air and with book in hand relaxed in my sunroom recliner enjoying the sunny day outside, from inside.  Our birdfeeders are very busy and it's always a joy watching the comings and goings of our cold weather pre-winter flock.
THIS FELLOW MUST HAVE HAD AN INTERESTING AND FULFILLING LIFE

Golden Retriever: The sun is shining, the day is young, we've got our whole lives ahead of us, and you're inside worrying about a stupid burned-out light bulb?

Border Collie: Just one. And I'll replace any wiring that's not up to code.

Dachshund: I can't reach the stupid lamp!

Toy Poodle: I'll just blow in the Border collie's ear and he'll do it. By the time he finishes rewiring the house, my nails will be dry.

Rottweiler: Go Ahead! Make me!

Shi-tzu: Puh-leeze, dah-ling. Let the servants do it. . . .

Lab: Oh, me, me!!! Pleeeeeeze let me change the light bulb! Can I? Can I? Huh? Huh? Can I?

Malamute: Let the Border collie do it.. You can feed me while he's busy.

Cocker Spaniel: Why change it? I can still pee on the carpet in the dark.

Doberman Pinscher: While it's dark, I'm going to have a sleep on the couch.

Mastiff: Mastiffs are NOT afraid of the dark.

Hound Dog: ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Chihuahua: Yo quiero Taco Bulb.

Irish Wolfhound: Can somebody else do it? I've got a hangover.

Pointer: I see it, there it is, right there...

Greyhound: If it isn't moving, who cares?

WASN'T ANYTHING OF INTEREST TODAY

We were greeted by cold gray skies with drizzling rain this morning.  Pheebs and I did make it out but the weather wasn't too inspiring for photos. No point in trying to think of something to write about, there just wasn't anything of interest.

DESPITE THE RAIN THIS FARMER WAS STILL TRYING TO GET HIS CORN HARVESTED WHILE THE FARMER BELOW PULLS OUT OF HIS MUDDY FIELD
GROANER'S CORNER:(( You know your getting older when...

1. You and your teeth don't sleep together.
2. Your try to straighten out the wrinkles in your socks and discover you aren't wearing any.

3. At the breakfast table you hear snap, crackle, pop and you're not eating cereal.

4. Your back goes out but you stay home.

5. When you wake up looking like your driver's license picture.

6. It takes two tries to get up from the couch.

7. When your idea of a night out is sitting on the patio.

8. When happy hour is a nap.

9. When you're on vacation and your energy runs out before your money does..

10. When you say something to your kids that your mother said to you and you always hated it.

11. When all you want for your birthday is to not be reminded of your age.

12. When you step off a curb and look down one more time to make sure the street is still there.

13. Your idea of weight lifting is standing up.

14. It takes longer to rest than it did to get tired.

15. Your memory is shorter and your complaining lasts longer.

16. Your address book has mostly names that start with Dr.

17. You sit in a rocking chair and can't get it going.

18. The pharmacist has become your new best friend.

19. Getting 'lucky' means you found your car in the parking lot.

20. The twinkle in your eye is merely a reflection from the sun on your bifocals.

21. It takes twice as long - to look half as good.

22. Everything hurts, and what doesn't hurt - doesn't work.

23. You look for your glasses for half an hour and they were on your head the whole time.

24. You sink your teeth into a steak - and they stay there.

25. You give up all your bad habits and still don't feel good.

26. You have more patience, but it is actually that you just don't care anymore.

27. You finally get your head together and your body starts falling apart.

28. You wonder how you could be over the hill when you don't even remember being on top of it.
