BY GOLLY, I FINALLY MADE IT INTO THE STARS
Yup, I missed September alright. In yesterday's post, my opening paragraph mentioned about a month from now being at the end of the first week in October. A couple of readers comments on my post asked, 'What happened to September? Thanks to those folks for bringing it to my attention. Missing September is kind of a good example of how my mind works these days. Makes me wonder what other things I've missed or got wrong, and don't know about.

COULD THIS BE A LAKE OR POND NEAR US.....WELL MAYBE, BUT FIRST, IT WAS A GRAVEL PIT THAT FILLED IN WITH WATER

WE HAVE A NUMBER OF ACTIVE, AND INACTIVE GRAVEL PITS IN OUR AREA
|
NEAR ONE OF THE TWO GRAVEL PITS ABOVE, I STUMBLED ACROSS THIS EXCEPTIONALLY RARE SPOON PLANT, ONLY FOUND IN THIS AREA OF THE WHOLE NORTH AMERICAN CONTINANT
After my Friday evening chat with Aunt Jean (we switched our time from 8:15 to 7 p.m. now) I headed out to my walking road and followed that up with a routine drive to Clinton for a Tim Horton coffee to go, before heading off to my night sky spot atop a hill on Tower Line Road.

I JUST CAUGHT THE TAIL END OF FRIDAY'S SUNSET
A few days ago, while cleaning up and rearranging things in the carport, I came across a forgotten night light thingy I had years ago which projects colorful stars on walls and ceilings. I noticed it had a USB plug-in, so I took it along with me Friday night to see what it would look like inside the car. Well, as you can see, I had fun playing with it. I also tried out some pics with my iPhone on a tripod selfie stick that I just remembered I had after buying it last summer.

MY APOLOGIES FOR THE SELFIES AGAIN, BUT WITHOUT PHEEBS WITH ME....I'M IT
Because of the morning's heat and humidity, I cut my walk short and instead cruised a few country roads in the cool comfort of Subie's A/C. A few pics along the way.

Woodsy and I headed for downtown Goderich shortly after noon. There's always a summer market in the square, and she wanted to have a look at all the veggies and stuff. Me, not so much, but I went along anyway, keeping an eye out for some candid people pics. I like snapping pics of people just being themselves. A quick stop at 360 Bikes n Boards to inquire about a howl in the rear hub of my E-bike, and a stop at Walmart before heading home.

Al's Music Box:: Yesterday Once More by The Carpenters.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( There was this party in the woods and, all of a sudden there was a downpour of rain and thunder. These two young men ran for about 10 minutes in the pouring rain, and finally reached their car just as the rain let up. They jumped in the car, started it up and headed down the road, laughing and, of course, still drinking one beer after the other. All of a sudden an old man's face appeared outside the passenger window, and he tapped lightly on the window! The man on the passenger side screamed out, "Eeeeeeekkk! Look at my window!!! There's an old guy's face there!" (Was this a ghost?!?!?!) The old man kept knocking, so the driver said, "Well, open the window a little and ask him what he wants!" So the passenger rolled his window down partway and said, scared out of his wits, "What do you want???" The old man softly replied, "Do you have any tobacco?" The passenger, terrified, looked at the driver and said, "He wants tobacco!" "Well, offer him a cigarette! HURRY!!" the driver replies. So he fumbles around with the pack and hands the old man a cigarette and yells, "Step on it!!!" rolling up the window in terror. Now going about 80 miles an hour, in the blinding rain, they calm down, and start laughing again, and the passenger says, "What do you think about that?" The driver says, "I don't know. How could that be? I was going pretty fast." Then all of a sudden AGAIN there is a knock, and there is the old man again. "Aaaaaaaaaaaaah, there he is again!" the passenger yells. "Well, see what he wants now!" yells back the driver. He rolls down the window a little ways and shakily says, "Yes?" "Do you have a light?" the old man quietly asks. The passenger throws a lighter out the window at him and rolls up the window and yells, "STEP ON IT!" They are now going about 100 miles an hour and still guzzling beer, trying to forget what they had just seen and heard, when all of a sudden again there is more knocking! "OH MY GOD! HE'S BACK!" He rolls down the window and screams out, "WHAT DO YOU WANT?" in stark fear. The old man replies, "You want some help getting out of the mud?"----------------------------
A man was driving down the road. He passed a traffic camera and saw it flash.
Astounded that he had been caught speeding when he was under the speed limit, he turned around and, going even slower, he passed by the camera. Again, he saw it flash. He couldn't believe it! So he turned and, going at snail's pace, he passed the camera. AGAIN, he saw the camera flash. He guessed it must have a fault, and home he went. Four weeks later he received 3 traffic fines in the mail, all for not wearing a seatbelt.
