I AM NOT HAPPY ABOUT SOMETHING

DARK MORNING SKIES HANG OVER A ROADSIDE BEANFIELD
Just think, a month from now we'll be at the end of the first month in October already, and well on our way to November.  And, we all know what drudgery comes after that.  Not the nicest way to start my post off today, but the thought just kind of popped out of me.  Maybe that's part of why I felt a touch of sadness this morning while out walking.  But, not to worry.....there will be better days ahead, and that is a guarantee:))

 ROADSIDE WILDFLOWERS
With the carport storage area gathering summer's clutter, I figured it was about time I cleaned this up. So, I took some of that time early this afternoon and reorganized the clutter until next time.

I am not happy about something that has been happening here!!!! Over the past week or so, I've noticed a decline in our Chipmunk population.  I think there may be only two left.  And the reason for this is clear.  I have seen a dark gray/black cat hanging around the property, and it is no doubt responsible for the decimation of the Chipmunks.  It's either a feral cat or a neighbor's cat again.  This has happened before.  I like cats, but not when they are killing my Chipmunks!!

GROANER'S CORNER:((
A young ventriloquist is touring Norway and puts on a show in a small fishing town. With his dummy on his knee, he starts going through his usual dumb blonde jokes. Suddenly, a blonde woman in the fourth row stands on her chair and starts shouting, 'I've heard enough of your stupid blonde jokes. What makes you think you can stereotype Norwegian blonde women that way? What does the color of a woman's hair have to do with her worth as a human being? It's men like you who keep women like me from being respected at work and in the community, and from reaching our full potential as people. Its people like you that make others think that all blondes are dumb. You and your kind continue to perpetuate discrimination against not only blondes but women in general, pathetically all in the name of humor!'  The embarrassed ventriloquist begins to apologize, and the blonde interrupts yelling, 'You stay out of this..I'm talking to that little jerk on your knee.'

John: "My grandpa is 98 years old, and he doesn't even use glasses."
Jack: "Wow, that is incredible!"
John: "Yep, he drinks straight from the bottle."

A young man approached his family physician and said, "Doc, I'm afraid you'll have to remove my wife's tonsils one of these days." "My good man," replied the doctor, "I removed them six years ago. Did you ever hear of a woman having two sets of tonsils?" "No," the husband retorted, "but you've heard of a man having two wives, haven't you?"

During his physical, the doctor asked the patient about his daily activity level  He described a typical day this way: 'Well, yesterday afternoon, I waded along the edge of a lake, drank eight beers, escaped from wild dogs in the heavy brush, jumped away from an aggressive rattlesnake, marched up and down several rocky hills, stood in a patch of poison ivy, and crawled out of quicksand'.  Inspired by the story, the doctor said, 'You must be one hell of an outdoors man!' 'NAH,' he replied, 'I'm just a crappy golfer.'

  1. Marilyn Struthers:That is sad about your chipmunks. I know, I like cats too but I hate that they eat my birds. I found feathers in my front yard the other day and I knew---and it made me sad too. I try not to even think of the dark colder days of winter and yet we get through---1 day at a time. Once again I loved the pictures you took.

  4. We have an owl with two youngsters hanging about our yard and the neighbour across the road. They have cleared out most of the squirrels and chipmunks. I like the little furry critters, but they were starting to cause some serious damage to our house, so I'm kind of glad the owl is keeping them in check.

  5. Cats are the biggest predators of small birds and mammals, including your beloved chipmunks. The only good cat is an indoor cat!
