Might have been RETIRED ROD'S post this morning that planted a seed in my brain. Couple hours later I was in the driveway hose in hand with a warm bucket of soapy water & my motorcycle parked in front of me. I think it was the first time this summer I had gathered together enough interest & energy to wash it. And it sure was in need of a wash because I was surprised to find mildew growing both the paint & the chrome. My bike sits protected from the elements in our carport therefore seeing very little sunshine. And it’s a gravel floor. Our whole property is very shady because of large pine trees so things have a tendency to get mouldy. Especially the vinyl siding on the north side of our house.  I find washing a motorcycle harder than washing a car.  So many crooks & crannies to get into & one has to get right down on the ground if you if your going to get into all the spots.  Cars just have big flat surfaces to chamois off.  Sometimes I take it to the car wash & do it with a high pressure hose which is best because the ‘final clean water rinse’ doesn’t leave any white spot residue.  I’ve been between a rock & a hard place these past few years with my bike.  I hardly ride it anymore yet I’m reluctant to give it up because I know if I do my bike riding days will be over.  Tough one.

Never moved the Jeep at all from sun up to sun down. It ended up being one of those stay at home days getting some yard maintenance caught up. Always seems to be trees & shrubs needing thinned out or trimmed. Couple things to clear up about Friday night's post. In Ontario our license tags come due on a person's birthday & tags are totally separate from auto insurance. Other Provinces may have a different way of doing things. One year tags are $82 a year per vehicle. Motorcycle Is $42. And Crestor isn't actually called Crestor anymore, it now goes by the name of Ran-Rosuvastatin  Well least ways that is what I was told by a lady at Walmart’s Pharmacy.

Kelly put a few hours in at DEER PARK LODGE this afternoon. She only works a few hours on Saturdays now but she still does all the reservations, web page updates, etc. All Deer Park calls are forwarded to Kelly's Deer Park phone & she also handles any guests complaints or needs plus pesky sales people. She sure fields a lot of calls some days & when we are in the South West for the winter she still handles the majority of Deer Park calls coming in.
Don't'cha just love that old Andy Griffith Show whistling theme from years ago. Now that's a little ditty that will make anyone feel better. Came in this afternoon to rest my sore foot & caught a couple episodes of Andy, Opie, Barney, Gomer, & Miss Bee. Remember the days when humor was just plain & simple. Nothing complicated, no head games or politically correct stuff. Just plain old home grown simple non serious humor with lots of easy going homespun flavor.  Not much of that left anymore…………….

My Bayfield recliner chair is the most relaxingly comfortable place I know. More comfortable than anything anywhere. Sometimes I sleep all night in it. Other times I catch short daily naps & eat my after supper Yogurt in it. And it's a favorite Snuggles place for Pheebs & I. In fact Pheebs loves snoozing in the recliner too. So much so in fact that I often have to coax her out of it with lines like, "aw come on it's my turn" or "hey, want a treat":)) Many blog paragraphs are written in my recliner. It's cushy, it's comfy, & what a great feeling to take the strain & soreness off my often bothersome legs. Unlike a bed, a recliner seems to distribute one's body weight better. Sometimes I link my recliner to my depressive state but of course it's not my recliner's fault at all, it's mine. My recliner is only trying to help by making me feel better. I still remember the day we drove to a Sears Outlet store in London Ontario about 6 or 7 years ago. On the large warehouse like floor sat a sea of recliners. I spotted my burgundy recliner right away sitting about dead center of them all. Made my way through the chair maze, sat in it, reclined, & that was it. Loaded it into our Mini Van & brought it home. We've been Buddies ever since. I wonder if anyone has ever been buried stretched out in their favorite recliner.
I have never understood how it is that some mornings when I wake up I just feel better than other mornings. Or, vice versa. Have often wondered what takes place in the human brain in a sleep state. Is it something to do with the kinds of dreams we have. Or as some believe, chemical changes taking places. I have no idea but have always wondered about that. Some days I just wake up feeling down while other days things seem to start right off on an even keel. Just doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason. Came across this awhile back....{Individuals with depression may have an imbalance in neurotransmitters, chemicals that nerves make and use to communicate with other nerves} Anyway, just a few thoughts.
Kelly noticed on Facebook that John & Brenda from JOHN & BRENDA'S INCREDIBLE JOURNEY have decided to sell their 40’ diesel Motorhome.  Anyone interested might want to get in touch with them out there in Alberta.  I’ve never seen their rig but I bet it’s spotless:))

  1. I washed mine, but I never even suggested that you should do the same!! But isn't it nicer to ride them when they are so clean?

  2. A nice, relaxing Saturday evening post !!
Thanks, Al .... Some recliners just seem to fit
and match the person .... I feel like folks who
don't have a favorite chair to call their own are
missing out on something special .... Oh well,
each to their own happy choices .....
Psssss... I asked about Aunt Jean a week or
so ago .... How is she doing ?

  3. The Groaners Corner was tricky...I failed! OOPS!!!!

We did sell our Harley a few weeks ago in Kalispell, MT. We just never rode it anymore since we got the Jeep and were tired of hauling it around. We haven't missed it! It was really hard to make that decision though and Joe said the same was his last one!

I love the old shows and Andy Griffith is at he top of the list...Barney was my favorite!

  4. A favorite chair is like an old friend. When you relax in your favorite, special place one feels secure, peaceful and content.

  5. The only reason my husband hasn't said he would like to be buried in his recliner is because he hasn't thought of it. He often wonders if someone could grow to a recliner. lol

  6. Maybe once or twice a month I'm feeling on top of the world. And I often question why. When I think about it, maybe I got a check I wasn't expecting, or somebody finally admitted I was right. Or maybe the plumbing problem turned out to be a simple gasket replacement. Usually I can figure out why I am in such a good mood.

  7. I like my Florida recliner, but miss my Alaska recliner. The one up here just fits right, feels like it was made for me. It has been the only thing I miss up here in the Winter.
As for waking up, I used to work a job where I had to go from sleep to full speed in less than two minutes. I would do this no matter how I felt. Then I changed work and had to awake to an alarm and get ready for work. It was not fun, so I changed to a job where I could awake from the Sun on my face. That is my favorite way to wake up. This is still how I like to wake up and I awake feeling good. When Kathy wakes me up, I may or may not wake up feeling good. It amazes me when I wake up feeling hung over and have not drank in months. I have been told this is caused by dehydration. Drink water before bed. It seems to work for me.

  8. thanks for answering my question with regards to the licensing costs..each province sure does do things differently!

  9. Yep love my recliner too, soon as I sit in it almost always fall asleep right away, no good if I want to watch a tv show thou. Tv watches me then.
Nice to get your bike all shined up and ready to go, get a helmut and goggles for Pheebs, maybe a sidecar and go for a cruise!

  10. This is my 30th year riding bikes, HD's. I have pretty much decided that it's time to hang up the leathers. At 67 this old ladies bones won't heal very well.

This is the first used bike I have ever bought. About 15 years ago a friend was having to cut back and her bike was one of the things that had to go. Now she is thinking about buying it back! LOL She's 72 and still able to ride but I think she'll ride passenger most of the time now. Still, it's going to be hard to see the empty spot in the garage.

  11. Hi Al thanks for the mention on the Motor Home. We hate to part with it but we just are not using it enough. Someone is going to get a deal of a lifetime lol.

Kelly can show you pictures from facebook if you want.

Take Care and feel better to both of you

    Brenda Brown

  12. WOW, I got two of the questions correct. Maybe not a passing grade but pretty good for an 'ol guy.

  13. We have wonderful wall hugging recliners in our MH. The MH came with Euro recliners that had separate foot rests. They weren't comfortable at all. So we had nice matching leather ones made in Elkhart, IN. They swivel, as well. Since this our home, we knew we needed to be comfortable. Best move ever:)

We're with Gay and Joe. Sold the motorcycle in CA and bought a Jeep. We don't miss it at all. We found ourselves hauling it around and not riding it. The Jeep works much better out west with all the back roads. Maybe you should join our club!

  14. I miss my recliner. It was inexpensive as recliners go but it fit me so well. Many of them are made more for men taller than I am and the one I found was just the right size for someone 5'6". But, it broke and was unfixable. Boo hoo.

Re. depression. Even though it has a lot to do with chemical imbalance, I also find that mine can get triggered by weather and times of the year. Just as you, I've lately been having good days intermixed with bad ones. Days when I can get some things done and days when I barely have the energy to get out of bed. It can be scary. But, I've got a plan to do something about it so I'm feeling a little better now. I hope you will also, soon.

  15. Everyone who wants to buy recliner, want to spend on the best but if they don't have any knowledge of its features, they won't be able to make the right decision mostly actually. So, here I've got best recliner reviews with buying guide also.

  16. Last Sunday i was going to my friend house. I love her chair and sofa very much that chairs and sofa are very styles as well as very comfortable. Then i asked her about that furniture. She told me this furniture are best quality recliners. I told her i also buy recliners very soon.
