Well it's Saturday night & what to write about. I feel I have been a little repetitious again with my focus on our Motorhome so.....something different for a change. I recently heard a singer/songwriter describe song writing as a form of therapy. Couldn't agree with him more & I also understand the close connection that therapy analogy has to a few Bloggers such as myself. It's actually an opportunity for some of us to sit at our keyboards each night & write about what's on our mind. For some people like me conversations do not come as easily as they once did. Writing about thoughts & feelings instead of talking about them has become a very acceptably comfortable form of communication. My preference of choice if you will. I am one of those people with a type of introverted shyness which this phenomena of blog writing has helped over the years & I sensed that from the very first post I ever wrote years ago. It just felt good inside to sit down & write something. An avenue for creativity. A soap box to climb up onto & shout 'hey I have something to say too'. And say it I have been doing. So just a big thank-you to all the readers who have hung in over the years through the ups, the downs, the gray days, the funny days, the flubs, the mistakes, the embarrassments, the high points, the accomplishments & the feeling good times. Thank you all again for letting me have my say...........................
GROANER'S CORNER:(( "Lou, sit down. I've got some bad news. You don't have much time to live." "How much longer do I have, Doc?" "Ten." "Ten *what? Ten weeks? Ten months? Ten years??" "Nine ... Eight ..."
You are very welcome. You have never been boring that is for sure. If writing helps, keep on keeping on. You have plenty of people that enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI don't comment often but I enjoy reading your posts..and if you enjoy it keep doing it. At this point in our lives we have no one to impress (if we ever did)so write what you want and don't worry about statistics....
ReplyDeleteKeep on writing, I always look forward to your Blog. I love hearing about your new motorhome and seeing the pictures. Sure looks like a beauty!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is always interesting to read, Al. I used to like to write, too. Now, I write when the mood hits me--as you say, more for my own enjoyment and therapy. I don't think I could do it, as you do, everyday. Then, again, I don't live in a place where I'm surrounded by beauty. I think your photographs are among the best of any of the blogs--even the ones in your own back yard. I sure wish I had your skills. I'm annoyed that my camera less than a year old is having trouble opening and closing the lens. I've treated it with kid gloves.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that my kids will read my blog after I'm gone. Rich was not one to write things down, and I have often thought I wish he had because I think sometimes you reveal things in writing that you don't verbally. Maybe they'll discover something new about me...who knows whether they'll want to, but I sure would have liked to read what Rich had to *think*. I've always kept a diary, but it's not the same as a blog. It amazes me to go back over years to see where we were and what we were doing.
I have "met"(virtually) so many people through blogging. It opens up a whole new world reading what other people think and do. My book reading has suffered.
Now, look there. I've written a blog in your comments. Sorry about that. Just wanted to tell you that even when you think you have nothing much to say, you have an awful lot that is interesting to say. I for one, thank you.
I would agree completely.
ReplyDeleteI have not fallen far from the tree whatsoever and am quite introverted in most situations. I think writing sings allows me to dialog with thousands of people.
I get ya there pops !! I do !!

ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed reading of your adventures as well as your thoughts..thanks.
ReplyDeleteWriting one's thoughts is so much easier..you can take your time and share yourself so much easier than in person. Eye contact can sometimes make conversation more difficult because so much is said with a person's eyes.
Keep writing and sharing Al.
Always enjoy your blog....I like that you write each day. I am enjoying the pics of your new motorhome and even retold a "groaners corner" joke to my hubby the other day.
ReplyDeleteKeep on blogging...
Your blog is always enjoyable to read, it brings us into your life, the good, the bad, the every day. In fact, I don't know how you manage to put something down here (almost) EVERY day! I know you've written about that fact and the reasons you do it...but I am still in awe of your ability to do so!
ReplyDeleteI too am an introvert, conversation is difficult for me, and bogging is a surprisingly easy way to communicate! I guess it's the lack of face to face...though it helpfully opens doors for future communication with those we meet on the road...so neat!

...and I thank you for your spectacular photos and for just keeping the rest of us honest. There are few people who I know who I can say are real people and you my friend are one of the most real people I know.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your beautiful photo tonight and for your heartfelt words.
ReplyDeleteAL, such wonderful compliments !!! And they are so well deserved ....
ReplyDeleteJust know for me, it is always a pleasure to receive your words of wisdom and thought .... And the photos, well let's just say, they rank right up there with NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC ..... So many times I sing your praises over those birds, landscapes, flowers and points of interest ....
I too appreciate your honesty and the sincere expression of your thoughts.... Thanks, AL and please know I appreciate your sharing.... Besides all that, you have a lovely wife and a cool, good as gold, puppy dog !!!!!!
Always enjoy reading your postings. nice to see what you are up to and checking out your pictures.
ReplyDeleteYour posts are never boring to me. Getting settled with a "new to you" motor home is just another adventure in your life (just went through that ourselves!), so it's interesting in its own way. Reflective posts are a way to let others see how you think, and that's what friends are for...virtual or otherwise....so keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteAl, I love your posts! From Arizona to Canada...I find that writing, too, is my therapy. It's my "quiet time", away from 30 screaming kids.

The joy of every day; the power of an admitted mistake; the beauty of nature; the delight of spouse, doggy and home(s); the value of knowing one's self.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
I've been a fan or your blog for years, it's always part of my routine to see what new angle or idea you blog about.
ReplyDeleteAnd your pictures are so very interesting, you've helped me look at things in an entirely new direction, to see the intricate beauty of even the most common, mundane item.
No matter what you write about, I enjoy it...keep up the good work! :c)
I'm just in it for the gorgeous pictures, good conversation is just an added bonus. :-) I like how you express yourself.... you're easy to read and I appreciate that.
ReplyDeleteNever ever found your blog boring! And I love being able to go back in your blog to see the things you find in an area before we get there ourselves.
ReplyDeleteAnd even the day to day stuff has a lot of value to many of us, making us feel like a continued friendship or conversation going back and forth between you and us, your readers!
