IT WAS A COLD GRAY DEPRESSING NOVEMBER DAY SO WE WENT FOR A WALK IN A CEMETERY

DSC_7773

With a predicted number of rainy days ahead there was no having to push myself out the door this morning and seeing a fiery pink sunrise to the East Pheebs and I didn't waste any time in getting ourselves mobile.  Of course that brief sunny sunrise didn’t last long before Old Sol was totally obscured by a heavy cloud cover and we never saw him again for the rest of the day.   In fact by mid afternoon a steady cold rain was upon us.

FARMERS ARE BUSY TRYING TO GET THEIR CORN CROP IN AND FOR THOSE WHO DON’T GET IT DONE SOON THEY MAY BE HARVESTING THEIR CORN WITH A SNOW PLOW

It was an uninspiring bland looking countryside we drove through so figured we would stop at the Bannockburn Conservation area and take my legs for a walk.  With three cars already in the parking lot that was the end of that idea so we slipped around the corner to Baird’s Cemetery a short distance away and with a cold south wind blowing Pheebs and I walked ourselves around the perimeter.  Today’s 43 degrees felt like 36 degrees when the wind chill was factored in.  Glad to get back to the Jeep with it’s nice warm heater.  From there we headed home about five miles west of where we were.

THIS COUNTRY ROAD WAS BLOCKED BY A BAND OF SEAGULLS DEMANDING EQUAL FRENCH FRY RIGHTS IN ALL McDONALDS PARKING LOTS ACROSS ONTARIO

With a big rain front approaching I left the Jeep parked outside and figured it would be cheaper for Mother Nature to wash it than me taking it to a car wash.  A squeaky clean sparkly vehicle is no longer a priority for me anyway.  Kind of a waste of time and money when I spend the majority of miles on country roads anyway.  Despite having it undercoated again I still hate the thoughts of having to drive the Jeep around on salt infested roads this winter!!

Lorne from Lorne's RV Parts and Service dropped by early this afternoon and winterized our Motorhome.  I like his way of blowing out the lines rather than using the smelly pink anti-freeze stuff.  Winterizing an RV has to be done right and that is why I preferred to have it done by someone who knows what they are doing and does it all the time.  I didn’t trust myself to do it right and watching him today there was way more to it than I thought so was sure glad he did it.  In the cold snap last weekend we turned the rig’s furnace on and with heated tanks kept things warm in the rig.  I also put anti-freeze in the sink traps and a light bulb near the water pump just to be on the safe side.  I had already drained the hot water tank as well as the fresh water tank and the gray and black tanks I did a month ago.

THAT’S QUITE A SET-UP LORNE HAS FOR BLOWING OUT WATER LINES AND TANKS

Without a sliver of sunshine to spark me out the door the rest of my day was spent inside bonking around on the computer, reading, and watching television.  These cold gray November days are hard upon us but hey, the month is already more than half over:))

GROANER’S CORNER:((  A husband and wife are on the 9th green when suddenly she collapses from a heart attack! "Help me dear," she groans to her husband.  The husband calls 911 on his cell phone, talks for a few minutes, picks up his putter, and lines up his putt.  His wife raises her head off the green and stares at him. "I'm dying over here and you're putting?"  "Don't worry dear," says the husband calmly, "they found a doctor on the second hole and he's coming to help you."  "Well, how long will it take for him to get here," she asks feebly?  "No time at all," says her husband. "Everybody's already agreed to let him play through."

- "Hey Grandpa! Can you make a noise like a frog?"  "I think I can do that. Why?"  "Cuz Dad says when you croak, we're going to Disneyworld"

  2. Book....'Scramble' by Norman Gelb. A Narrative History Of The Battle Of Britain. Currently reading about how the operations room worked where all the flights were controlled from. Central command so to speak. Great book.

  3. Nice that you and Pheebs got out at least for a while this morning and hopefully you will have many sunny days in the near future.

  4. It has been grey in our neck of the woods for what seems like forever. I like the thought that November is half over it makes it all seem somehow better. Really liked the pictures of the Blue Jays.

  6. I have a Jeep that looks exactly like yours and I think it would go around that truck on the right side. Just drive over the grass.
