"Farmer: "Not bunch, herd.
"Camper: "Heard what?"
Farmer: "Of cows."
Camper: "Sure I've heard of cows.
"Farmer: "No, I mean a cow herd."
Camper: "So what if they heard? I have no secrets from cows!"

Well, the husband's doctor told him that many men pass with Prostate Cancer, rarely from it. So he took that and has a different outlook. Keep this in mind, in whatever you decide to do... Live life to the fullest, don't let life live you. Prayers for the TBB.
ReplyDeleteThoughts and prayers are with you and Kelly.
ReplyDeleteHow I envy you all that green! Your clover is doing a great job filling in between all the other plants.
ReplyDeleteI suppose the owners of the park would rather have the money than the trees. That seems to be the way it always works. Repeating another comment, I have heard that prostate cancer can be less serious in some cases. I hope for good news for you and for Kelly. And, good for you. What is that quote---"to thine own self be true". Being honest and forthright is part of who you are. Trying to be otherwise would really mess with your head, and heart, IMHO. Know that you are not alone. We are all with you.
You've done an absolutely beautiful job on your yard and home. Give yourself a pat on the back!!

ReplyDeleteI like that hat. You must be doing something right look at it this way. When you can stand up and pull your pants on each day and put your shoes and socks on you're going to have a good day. Give Pheebs another cookie and a big hug. Then sit down pick up your cellphone and call Kelly just to say good morning to her. IMHO I think if you do that it will not only make your day but it will make Kelly's day too. Don't put it off just do it!
As we age so does our health and the golden years become tarnished, We have had a good ride so far just hope that all can ride further on this road of life.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you both as you trudge through the tuff stuff 👊
ReplyDeleteYep, I would recognize that smell anywhere--wet cowboy hat--smell it often around here as my cowboy is rarely without his hat. Our thoughts are with you and Kelly.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the honest telling of our daily lives. No sugarcoating for me either. I could pretend all is perfect each day but it isn't. I read once that all men will die WITH prostate cancer not BECAUSE of it. Good luck with everything for both you and Kelly.
ReplyDeleteAl, I went KERSPLAT into some mud next to our side porch after I hosed it off 3x and got rid of all the dog hair! Hit my right temple and my right arm and leg. I laid there for a few minutes to see if any was broken (nothing was)...got up, hobbled into the house and shower and my right elbow is extremely stiff. My glasses went flying. I think we all hav to realize that, alas, we are no longer in our 20's and 30's!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the 'Golden Years' indeed, but look around and there's always someone worse off than you. I write, honestly I think, about the medical challenges I face, but I choose not to write about the difficulties and low points, of which there are plenty! You don't need to hide the challenges, but find your own comfort level for writing. Ane like you, thank goodness for the memories!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to exclude large chunks of your life, if you're going to talk about your life. I think one third of the labels on my blog have to do with some medical problem or other. It's all part of the wonder that is the golden years. And yes, I want to thrash the person who came up with that phrase.
ReplyDeleteThe Golden Years phrase is meant for the doctors.
