MAYBE IT WAS JUST MY TURN TO HAVE A DOWN DAY

Well here we are halfway through our Thanksgiving week-end.  Summer has been officially over for weeks now as we glide through Autumn bracing for the head long crash into Winter.  Definitely not looking forward to that crashing part.  Unless we can pull a rabbit out of a hat it looks like at this point we will end up stuck here for the entire winter.  I know it's inevitable sooner or later and for the past two years I've been trying to prepare myself for that eventuality.  I have not done very well.  Today was the first day I actually felt the dread of being stuck at home this winter.  Checking the internet every day there seems to be less and less used Class B and C RV's coming up for sale.  Well in our price range anyway.  Lots of new hundred thousand dollar stuff out there of course but that's not for us.  I don't know, maybe it was just my turn to have a down day...……………..

MORE AND MORE BOATS ARE BEING HAULED OUT OF THE WATER EVERY DAY NOW

GROANER'S CORNER:(( What's the difference between a Yankee zoo and a Redneck zoo? On the cage in a Yankee zoo, it will have the name of the animal and the scientific name in Latin.  A Southern zoo will have the name of the animal and a recipe.

The children had all been photographed, and the teacher was trying to persuade them each to buy a copy of the group picture."Just think how nice it will be to look at it when you are all grown up and say, 'There's Jennifer, she's a lawyer,' or 'That's Michael, He's a doctor.'A small voice at the back of the room rang out, "And there's the teacher, She's dead."

  1. Happy Thanksgiving. I am thankful that you have your health. That RV just might show up in the spring. Hang in there.

  5. Gotta love those fall colors, the reality of us staying home this winter is slowly sinking in with us, and like you really not looking forward to after the last 13 winters down south. We did it before and we can do it again though we don't have to like it, just keep smiling and waiting for spring, before we know it will be here.

  6. Happy Thanksgiving! We hate the thoughts of being home this Winter too. It's our 2nd Winter in a row to be stuck in Illinois! The only good side is that Winter does offer some awesome photo opportunities!!

  7. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Kelly. Think positive, winter isn't here yet and maybe it will be a mild and short one.

  8. The Fall colors are so pretty and calming, like slowing down to take a nice nap. Such a contrast to the violent, crashing waves (which I also love!).

  9. I LIVE down south (Texas) and recall with great delight and pleasure my two years of cold and snow in upstate New York. Of course I was a young thing in my 20's. But it was beautiful to see, and I think I might still think so, as long as I had a warm place to live and sleep. I have a friend who grew up in North Dakota, and as soon as he was able, he headed south and has stayed. So I understand the dread. It is, as Jo above, said, the feeling that one has when approaching summer here. Ah. The grass is always greener.
