REFLECTIONS

A POND REFLECTION
If it wasn't officially Tuesday I would have lost the bet believing it was Sunday.  Very little traffic on area roads and no machines running here in the Park had all the earmarks of a Sunday.  I even double checked the calendar then wondered if the calendar could be wrong.  Okay Okay Tuesday it is then!!
UNINTENTIONLLY STIRRED UP A FLOCK OF MALLARD DUCKS
Needing a few groceries you know who and I headed off to Goderich under cloudy skies.  Did our traditional swing down around the harbor followed by a grocery stop.
TWO FREIGHTERS IN THE GODERICH HARBOR THIS MORNING....THE LABRADOR ABOVE AT THE GRAIN DOCK AND THE ALGOMA ENTERPRISE BELOW AT THE SALT DOCK
On the way home we stopped on Kitchigami Road for a short walk in a forest bordering the road.  Temps were a nice 50F but with the dull looking day I couldn't seem to get myself too inspired by the day.  A few pics and we headed home.
KITCHIGAMI ROAD
DESPITE ALL THE COLORED LEAVES THERE ARE STILL AREAS OF GREEN FOREST
Raked up my remaining piles of pine needles from Monday and dumped them in a big pile across the road where I will later stop with the utility trailer and load them up for our Park's recycle area.

RAKING UP PINE NEEDLES

THIS LOCATION IS ABOUT A MILE EAST OF WHERE WE LIVE
I noticed some of the RV Snow Birds on our side bar have already begun their annual winter trek southward.  Wish we were going again.  RV's for sale have suddenly dried up becoming as rare as hen's teeth up here in the northern latitudes.  With nasty weather coming soon I guess potential sellers have probably decided to wait until Spring now.
A WALK AROUND THE PARK'S POND MONDAY AFTERNOON
YELLOWING BAMBOO GRASS
PURPLE TASSELS ON THE BAMBOO GRASS
For supper tonight I fried myself up a big bowl of porridge with all the fixuns.  Cinnamon, brown sugar, and banana slices.  An hour later I chased that porridge down with half a dozen tasty fish sticks dipped in ketchup.
OUR PARK'S POND MONDAY AFTERNOON AND BELOW ARE A FEW PHOTOS OF REFLECTIONS IN THAT POND
NO THIS ONE IS NOT A REFLECTION
GROANER'S CORNER:((   The elderly priest, speaking to the younger priest, said, "It was a good idea to replace the first four pews with plush bucket theater seats. It worked like a charm. The front of the church always fills first now."
The young priest nodded, and the old priest continued, "And you told me adding a little more beat to the music would bring young people back to church, so I supported you when you brought in that rock'n'roll gospel choir. Now our services are consistently packed to the balcony."
"Thank you, Father," answered the young priest. "I am pleased that you are open to the new ideas of youth."
"All of these ideas have been well and good," said the elderly priest, "but I'm afraid you've gone too far with the drive-thru confessional."
"But, Father," protested the young priest, "my confessions and the donations have nearly doubled since I began that!"
"Yes," replied the elderly priest, "and I appreciate that.
But the flashing neon sign, 'Toot 'n Tell or Go to Hell' cannot stay on the church roof.

Q. Why are married women heavier than single women?
A. Single women come home, see what's in the fridge and go to bed.

My boss arrived at work in a brand-new Rolls Royce.“Wow,” I said. “That’s an amazing car.”He replied, “If you work hard, put all your hours in, and strive for excellence, I’ll get another one next year!"

  1. Oh, we are definitely headed south, Al....along with half of Canada. Lots of Ontario and Quebec plates on I-95. Looks like a rolling RV show. 😊

  4. Beautiful photos of autumn again...I especially like the ones of the ducks coming in. However, I'd just as soon not read about your evening meals while Susie is gone. Porridge followed by fish sticks. Really?!? But I guess a person who'd taken those wonderful photos and did the wheelbarrow full of pine needles should be able to eat anything he wanted to without comment from others.
