BAYFIELD TO WATERFRONT PARK AT POINT EDWARD ONTARIO

THAT RIGHT OVER THERE IS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
It was a short Jeep ride around a couple country blocks for Pheebs and I this morning and we were soon home again.  Still had things to load into the Winnie-Wagon for today's travels.  Although we'll only be gone for a couple days you would have thought we were loading up for a 6 month trek to the American Southwest.  Well, maybe not that bad but I'm sure we had the usual amount of stuff we didn't really need.

A SILVERY GRAY CLOUD COVER TODAY
It was exactly 10:45 when we rolled out the driveway and headed south through Bayfield towards Grand Bend.  Sure nice to be on the road in an RV going somewhere again.  It's been about a year and half since we last returned from the Great American Southwest in March of 2018.  A couple Tim Horton coffee's to go in Grand Bend and we continued south.  No, we didn't go through the drive-thru.  Our destination for the day was Waterfront Park in Point Edward which is a part of Sarnia Ontario and right across the St. Clair River from Port Huron Michigan.  The Park is located partially under the Blue Water Bridge connecting our two great countries.  Very impressed with this Park and it's setting.  Backed into a spot in the parking lot's northeast corner and shut it down for the day.  We did not see any signs forbidding overnight parking and if we did have to move we knew there was another large parking area at a Casino a short distance away south of the bridge.  And yes, there is free Wifi here with great reception.  Bonus:))

THE BLUEWATER BRIDGE BETWEEN CANADA AND THE UNITED STATES

THIS IS THE VERY FAST FLOWING ST. CLAIR RIVER LOOKING SOUTH...RIVER IS RUNNING RIGHT TO LEFT
LOOKING NORTH INTO LAKE HURON AND SHORELINE ON RIGHT LEADS TO BAYFIELD
OUR SPOT FOR THE NIGHT
So far we are making out just fine in the rig but really miss the convenience of solar power.  We were just so used to plugging things in without having to worry about wearing batteries down.

A LARGE FREIGHTER HEADS DOWN RIVER

I HEARD VOICES IN THE WATER AND SPOTTED TWO HEADS BOBBING ALONG...LOOK CAREFULLY AND YOU CAN SEE THEM ABOUT DEAD CENTER
IT'S QUITE POPULAR HERE FOR SWIMMERS TO JUMP IN THE RIVER AND FLOAT ALONG WITH THE CURRENT ON UNDERWATER FLOTATION DEVICES
THOUGHT THIS WAS NICE IDEA
From our vantage point near the big Blue Water Bridge we could see traffic going back and forth over the bridge.  Not heavy traffic and not many cars.  Maybe one car for every 20 eighteen wheeler trucks.  Ninety percent of the traffic was trucks.  We could hear them up there on the bridge but it was not loud enough to be bothersome.

THATS OUR WINNIE OVER THERE ON THE LEFT
PLAYING HIS ACCORDIAN ALONGSIDE THE RIVER

A LARGE FREIGHTER HEADS UPRIVER
I SEE THIS SHIP IN GODERICH QUITE A BIT
AS THIS SHIP ENTERS LAKE HURON WATERS ANOTHER SHIP ON THE HORIZON IS COMING IN TO HEAD DOWNRIVER

GROANER'S CORNER:((
The wife of a Las Vegas doctor telephoned a local casino and asked to have her husband paged.  "Sorry, Madam," came the reply, "but the house does not make doctor calls."

  1. Grrreat to see you on the road again - in your natural environment! Hope you can get some solar on there to make things easier. Nice to see those big shops so close! Enjoy the travels!

  2. Great photos of your location. Love the night shots. I the once picture of Kelley walking away I thought she was carring a fishing rod, but it was something on the boat. Have a great time

  3. 100 watts of solar can be done for about $175 CAD in parts now, and a morning's worth of work. As a boondocker, that would have been the first thing I would have done.

Oh, and LED lighting if you don't already have it.
