Our temperatures dipped down to the freezing mark overnight leaving a dusting of frost on the ground.  If we happen to get a hard frost anytime now we might be lucky enough to end up with an Indian Summer if it gets warm again.  That, of course, is always extra special at this time of year if and when it happens.

With Pheebs window down we had to have the Jeep's heater cranked up for our morning country road cruise.  Nice sunny day but definitely a layer of cold air hanging over the land as we wandered over around Goderich and back.

Having done a big clean-up in our metal shed a couple weeks ago it was time to do our wooden shed today.  Needed to get it squared around and make room for all the outside summer lawn ornaments to be put away for winter.  Always a sizeable task and one that preferably needs to be done when the weather is good.

The photo below shows a tugboat far offshore pushing a barge loaded with a big orange machine and large boulders on its way out into Lake Huron.  This is not the first barge I have seen being pushed out there lately.  Can't help but wonder what's up??  I suppose one of those cheesy low brow on-line conspiracy sites would no doubt say a top-secret military underwater base housing nuclear intercontinental ballistic missiles is being constructed by the Canadian Military in conjunction with several other foreign countries.  Ya, that's about what they would say alright.  And you what.....millions of people would be gullible enough to believe it too!!

In my mind there is no doubt about it....time speeds up as we age.  I say that from experience because I am here now and have entered that final portal into what simply has to be a selective time warp factor.  Despite the hands of a clock showing a full 60 minutes each hour I now know  those 60 minutes to truly have a time implosion of 15 minutes.  It's the only logical conclusion I can reasonably come to for these days going by so fast now.  And with myself being a very practical common sense person based most of the time in hardened reality it's the only correct conclusion my mind can possibly settle on.  It's almost like I go to bed Saturday night and wake up Friday morning 6 hours later.  It's an age-related time warp factor I tell ya!!
GROANER'S CORNER:(( Just So Ya Know.....

 - If one door closes and another door opens, you are probably in prison.

- To me, "drink responsibly" means don't spill it.

- Age 60 might be the new 40, but 9:00 pm is the new midnight.

- It's the start of a brand new day, and I'm off like a herd of turtles.

- The older I get, the earlier it gets late.

- When I say, "The other day," I could be referring to any time between yesterday and 15 years ago.

- I remember being able to get up without making sound effects.

- I had my patience tested. I'm negative.

- Remember, if you lose a sock in the dryer, it comes back as a Tupperware lid that doesn't fit any of your containers.

- If you're sitting in public and a stranger takes the seat next to you, just stare straight ahead and say, "Did you bring the money?"

- When you ask me what I am doing today, and I say "nothing," it does not mean I am free. It means I am doing nothing.

- I finally got eight hours of sleep. It took me three days, but whatever.

- I run like the winded.

- I hate when a couple argues in public, and I missed the beginning and don't know whose side I'm on.

- When someone asks what I did over the weekend, I squint and ask, "Why, what did you hear?"

- When you do squats, are your knees supposed to sound like a goat chewing on an aluminum can stuffed with celery?

- I don't mean to interrupt people. I just randomly remember things and get really excited.

- When I ask for directions, please don't use words like "east."

- Don't bother walking a mile in my shoes. That would be boring. Spend 30 seconds in my head. That'll freak you right out.

- Sometimes, someone unexpected comes into your life out of nowhere, makes your heart race, and changes you forever. We call those people cops.

- My luck is like a bald guy who just won a comb.

  1. Yes. Time warp. And double speed. And I do hope the Canadian military is constructing an underwater bunker out there. I wouldn't mind one myself. But not being Canadian, I suppose it won't do me much good.

  2. I've said for a long time that when you're a kid your birthdays are 3 years apart, and when we get older they're 3 months apart! Although looking forward time is still slower than it is looking back ;-) Love your sweet little yellow flowers.

  3. Loved your Groaners tonight! Time flies here too!

  4. I think time seeming to pass more quickly is a matter of a brain's missing stuff. The older brain's electrical impulses are not firing on all cylinders so to speak. When young, and assuming normal, we miss almost nothing, but aging brings about defective electrical firings, so our brain is firing on six instead of ten cylinders, so to speak. We are literally missing split seconds all the time and that is why time seems to pass more quickly--we put the pot on and set the timer for 20 minutes and seemed to have barely sat down to wait before the timer goes off. I have even questioned the accuracy of my timer by matching it up with another timer. And, it is not so much that we have slow reflexes when something happens in front of us. It is that some or many of our neurons are not firing or they are misfiring and we react late as a result. When this condition is very advanced, one can see that reaction time when driving might be problematic if one actually missed the split-second act of a person or vehicle darting out in the street. Just my opinion....
